I absolutely love Tony Martin. I just started collecting some of his albums outside of Sabbath like Empire, Rondinelli, and his solo stuff. I love all the albums he did with Black Sabbath. I remember when i got Tyr, Cross Purposes, and Headless Cross brand new 5 dollars each 20 some years ago. I didn't know much about Sabbath after the Dio era. When i put on Tyr and heard Anno Mundi i was like WOW THIS GUY CAN SING!!! Everything reminded me a bit of Candlemass, Solitude Aeternus, and early Tad Morose.

This guy is damn good. He masterfully sang new stuff, later stuff, and everything in between. The only guy that could hang with Dio on H & H... so good and his voice fit the band like a glove. It's a shame he doesn't get more recognition because it's well deserved.

I love Tony Martin. I was so sad to see this interview end. For a great Tony Martin performance check out him singing at the Bang Your Head Festival from Germany. I have the DVDs, but I'm sure it's on KZbin as well. It's interesting to see the interaction between the bass player and the guitarist on the songs, and Tony breaks out an electric violin. The crowd was so happy to see the performance I think there was a grown man crying in one of the shots. Geoff Nichols is playing with him as well.

What a fantastic singer Tony Martin is, Loved his work at the helm of Sabbath, Forbidden was a little weak but the rest of the albums were magnificent. He trounces Ozzy as a Sabbath front man IMO. My God the Tony Martin Sabbath records are so magnificent, been blasting Tyr all week and just today I walked into a record store and was amazed to hear The Shining haha, all are magnificent albums, even if a few songs on Forbidden kinda drive me nuts, I still vastly prefer it to 13, never really could get into that album

@@mark_beastpriest5539 I'd say the bulk of 80s and 90s sabbath is way better than most of ozzys solo career, the first 2 ozzy records are great and I like some of the jake e Lee albums plus mixed stuff on the Zack Wylde albums but Ozzys last decent record was probably No More Tears for me, and even then it's not great because of ozzy himself and these obscure sabbath albums still destroy most of that material haha. Cross Purposes is a godtier album

Thorns is like an evolution of what another Dio album would be like, if Dio sang for GZR possibly there are modern guitar riffing which borders on Grindcore but instead of distorted death vocals you hear actual singing there are 7 and 8 string guitars, there is heaviness like WAY down in the basement riffing . sometimes I am hearing like Dio Strange Hiways kind of riffing but lower tuning
