Pomegranate tip from a pomegranate enthusiast: cut it in quarters, then stick it in a big bowl of water to take the seeds out! It keeps the juice from staining everything, and the seeds float to the top then you just scoop them off! It also makes it easier to pick out the waxy membrane and its generally a whole lot less messy. Hope this is helpful to someone 😄

My mother always says that it's portion size that's a big part of America's problem.
@spring76434 жыл бұрын
I think it's the quality of the food. There is more highly processed foods available then there used to be with lots of added sugar and sometimes toxic preservatives. Also lots of food is not real anymore, it's just food-like and really came out of a lab. It's lacking in nutrients so you can eat huge portions and not feel full. If you eat a meal of raw green veggies or lean protein it's really hard to overeat because they are nutritious.

Yeah I'm going to have to disagree with you. TexMex tends to have a lot MORE cheese, but if you travel around Mexico, cheese is still a very common ingredient. It also depends on the area of the country though. Like "TexMex" was created by hispanic people living in a certain area of texas and mexico, where certain ingredients were more prevalent (like red meat and cheese- cow products from cattle driving industries)... along the coast you definitely see more seafood and vegetables, because those ingredients are more readily available.
@yasmino.21934 жыл бұрын
It depends, the traditional meat, beans and rice might not have cheese. But if you’re eating something like sopes then it will usually, not always, include cheese and sour cream. The cheeses aren’t that bad, at least I don’t think so because my mom makes it fresh.

Hi Dr. Youn, the best way to get pomegranate seeds out: First cut in half, then hit the back end of the halves with a spoon. All of the seeds will fall out ^_^. When I moved to Turkey and learned this trick, I ate bowls and bowls of pomegranate seeds!

I'm lactose intolerant but every now and then I still indulge in cheese but mostly grassfed, organic hard cheeses. I also eat goat cheese sometimes because it doesn't irritate my stomach like other soft cheeses. I also use nutritional yeast when I have a cheese craving; just sprinkle it over my food.

Well for the anti-aging part red wine. My grandfather drinks a single glass of red wine at every meal and he's 94 years old. So I believe that to be true.

@M S not so sure about that my great grand mother died at 120 years old on my other side of the family. While her daughter (my grand mother) died at 68. And they both lived in the same place so they had mainly the same diet.

that doesn't really prove anything though. It's like when people claim that smoking isn't unhealthy because their "grandpa smoked and lived to 96"

It's super easy to get pomegranate seeds out we just got to do it the right way. Roll it around the counter for a few seconds giving very light pressure, cut it in half, turn it over and smack the skin with wooden spoon over a big bowl & all of the seeds will pop out fairly easily

Pomegranate seeds are so easy to get out The technique is: Cut the pomegranate into two equal halves To each half , give another two cuts Press to make it flatter Place it on your hand And a bowl beneath your hand From the back of it hit with ladle or rolling pin (Should be heavy) After two to three hits you get all the seeds out

For getting out pomegranate seeds get a BIG Bowl (its going to splatter) cut the pomegranate in half and hit it with the back of a spoon. Doesnt work perfectly but its definitely better than picking them out one by one

What’s your source for the “cheese is the main cause of obesity in the US” statistic?
@spring76434 жыл бұрын
Cheese helped me stay thin and build muscle because it's got good fat and protein, which kept me full so I ate less. But I can't eat it anymore because my body doesn't digest lactose or casein properly.
@elleriespradlin85864 жыл бұрын
There isn’t one. Cheese doesn’t cause obesity at all actually. Here’s a source discussing that: academic.oup.com/advances/article/10/5/917S/5569504
@komfykoala60833 жыл бұрын
I eat cheese regularly and I actually slimmed down considerably since the start of the year. I don't know where he got that statistic from.
