I had a lip lift, and the scar is almost imperceptible. I owe it to a wonderful surgeon who only lifted the lip slightly, and healing well. The distance between the nose and top lip has been shortened slightly, and you can see a little more of my upper teeth when I speak, which looks great. I have seen disasters, though, where the upper lip is pulled up almost right under the nose, almost touching it. That puts a lot more tension on the incision, which, of course can leave a wider and more noticeable scar. Thank you, Doctor Youn, for always advising discretion and a clear understanding of the risks.

ignore the dickhead below...you're beautiful, and yes, they do want your features! I think it's perfectly okay to enjoy another person's aesthetic- as long as you recognize the trials those people have gone through for their features. mimicry is the most sincere form of flattery, and there IS a way to be respectful. bullying people for a typical ethnic feature (let's face it, some of us lighter ladies aren't blessed in the lip department) just to appropriate and gentrify it a few years later once it's 'cool' and trendy again is most definitely not respectful. So regardless of that jerk below, I see your struggle and where you're coming from

You'll look prettier and sexier as you grow older. I used to have these fats that made me look very chubby which I wasn't. As we age we naturally have reduced fat on our face. In my opinion if you are thinking of having cosmetic plastic surgery done, it is important to consult with a good plastic surgeon and not someone who is just in it for the money. I think that is the biggest challenge of all, as not every plastic surgeon is not as honest as Dr. Youn. He will tell the public, the negative aspects of a procedure, even though other plastic surgeons may be upset that he is telling the truth. I can't help but comment on the video with the women with the large lips. I watched her eat and she could hardly close her mouth. The only other time, I have witness that is people who have cerebral palsy with facial paralyze and they have a great deal of difficulty chewing their food. I am sure they would do anything, to look normal when they are eating.

It is interesting that so many women of color, or different ethnicities than what is considered Caucasian, have experienced everything from being teased to being very harshly bullied and harassed for their facial and body features for decades, and even centuries. Yet when it is on someone like the Kardashians or others of lighter skintones, it is praised and copied. And we don't see it only with plastic surgery. It's also seen within the curly or natural hair community and the huge influx more recently of wearing wigs, as well as makeup techniques and styles. I think these are the issues/problems we really need to take a deep dive into and start recognizing as a society. While I am really happy that now more than ever different body and facial types are being celebrated, and I absolutely have nothing against safe plastic surgery, there needs to be discussions about the impact it is having on us as a whole, especially young people. So if you haven't already, I'd love to see a video discussing this in regards to the current plastic surgery trends.

there are procedures out there that make you look natural but with more enhanced features and i personally find those really pretty like cherry lips. HOWEVER just bc smth looks pretty on someone else doesn't mean it's suited for you. oversized lips on your paper thin ones can make your face look disproportionate and i really can't see the beauty in looking like a filler addict even if i force myself to. i mean it's your money you do you but just why go overboard like that

Thanks for this! I'm planning on a little lip filler but terrified of looking like a duck! So small amounts only.

For me, it takes about 2-4 weeks to look natural but lasts a year.

Would do a video about forehead surgery to make it smaller? We have here in Brasil, but I could never how the scar gets afterwards the surgery.. and I would love to do that cause my forehead is big and now I’m a candidate for blefaroplastic as well 😩

Why can’t people grow old gracefully?!? Why?!? I’ll be 63 in December, and have never had anything done.

Doc, I work in a nursing home. At my age I buy cream filled foundation and face balm. You know what I’m talking about. Bobbi Brown, it works for me. Jones Road. It makes my face so soft, and it’s a quick makeup. I work 7-3, no botox, no fillers, and it’s natural.

Dr, can you make a video of the pros and cons of vertical restoration facelift?

I love how you busted out the Spider-Man comic as an example. I was like "Ohhh now I get it". 😂

Could u maybe make a video about the Lip Flip? I’ve seen it a couple times now and is it something to consider if you don’t want a lip lift? Great Video as always greetings from Germany!

It’s definitely a safer option, but it doesn’t really work for a lot of people. It just kind of does nothing for many people. So sometimes it’s a waste of a few hundred bucks (which is better than other regrettable options!)

Since you are the most honest doctor here... so a round face is a good candidate for buccal fat removal?
