Remember, this is part of their mountain line! Jack said he anticipated using the hip-pack for mountain biking - in that case it needs to carry tools, snacks, possibly gloves and a light layer - all of those take up space!

That's a very valid point. I honestly forgot about its intended design due to the cool looks. Together with the color it just kinda looks like an urban bag 😂 And with everything you mentioned it just underlines the reason why I love this on my motorcycle. Thanks for watching, mate. Hope you are all safe and well

I 100% believe that this bag is the perfect size. I will say I am 6ft tall and a large guy. I also got the signal blue, and it looks so vibrant in person’ This sling picks up less hair because the nylon isn’t textured like the bags, so even the black one will pick up less hair and dust than the backpacks!

Thanks Bo. I have the Bellroy sling which is around 7L? Then next size up is a 20L packable Sea to Summit, a 28L North face for my workbag and down a step I have my pocket carry. I have quite a few more bags but for the sling it was an alternative to a sling I got in Japan (which I love). Mainly I carry my keys which also has a Nitecore and Gerber pry tool on it (carry on safe). Then it depends but a packable jacket, picnic blanket, Victorinox knife and small Olight torch, bandaids, spare mask, 10k mAH powerbank and cables, small notebook and 2 pens. Wallet or Phone sometimes. Mainly I prefer phone and wallet on my person. A x100s or Ricoh GR2 sometimes else use my phone. You just made me realise it isn't just the bag but capacity. In all of them I look for comfort and organisation. I tend to throw everything in, so organisation is important. Unfortunately the Bellroy attracts cat hair which my Japanese sling bag doesn't. On the plus the design cinches to body when not full.

First Evergoods product I own. Best sling, IMO. I had the sling for about 2-3 weeks. I use it everyday and to all my bike ride outs. A couple days ago it rained on me and it kept everything inside dry. Only CON so far, is the back panel mesh. It seems to take out fibers of whatever material shirt I’m using.. specially cotton.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the mesh. I only wore it with a jacket yet. Good info for the summer when I do t wear a jacket. Thanks

It’s not the colour but the material that makes this bag less off a dog hair and dirt magnet. Like the MPL 30 this bag uses 420d nylon instead of the 500d that’s used in the CPL and CHZ lines.

Nice review! Which do you prefer for daily carry - this or the Heimplanet XL?

This looks very similar to the Patagonia 5L waist pack. Definitely like the minimal branding on this one vs the Patagonia though.

You did not mention about the new mesh. So many complained about the CPL and CHZ not have any mesh 😒 This sling is not for me but that new mesh is very new for Evergoods! Definitely going to get my CHZ 26 asap!
@Youknowthebo3 жыл бұрын
There is no mesh inside this slingbag. But you are right: the Chz26 has this mesh. You can see it in my Chz26 video ✌️😊
@richardsusumu20663 жыл бұрын
@@Youknowthebo Dude the back channel mesh (according to Kevin its called Spacer Mesh) on the back of the sling. Never mentioned it was inside. Its all good, you probably did not bring it up because it would be more noticeable on a backpack. Thanks
@Youknowthebo3 жыл бұрын
Oh you mean the backpanel. 😂 For me the mesh is this see through web of the new pocket inside the new Chz26. Sorry for the misunderstanding. With slingbags I usually don't cover the back, because due to the small footprint on my back I kind of disregard airflow. Plus Germany rarely gets very warm, so airflow on my back isn't that important unfortunately

@@Youknowthebo Yeah thats what i figured since the footprint is so small since it is a sling. Thank you for the reviews 💪🏽

It’s called a mountain hip pack…. So how did it wear as its primary purpose, a hip or fanny pack??
@Youknowthebo5 ай бұрын
Valid criticism. I am a fairly short person and overall not that big. So even I can wear it as a hip pack I personally found it to be too big to wear it on my hip. Not necessarily in terms of usability, but rather in terms of looks and me being movable. If it is on the front it feels weird for the lack of a better description. Small slingbags I like to wear on the side. This is not possible with this size. So I have to wear it on my back above the bum. And that wasn't that great for me personally either 😅
@M0ebius3 жыл бұрын
As someone who EDCs a fanny, the Evergoods sling is absolutely humongous when worn as a hip pack. To me a hip pack is more of an extension of your pockets, so I want it light, small, and be able to swing around to the front, the back, or the side, based on the activity I am doing. That said as a cross-shoulder sling I think it is fine - right in that sweet spot between an EDC hip pack and a small backpack. However I would be exclusively carrying it that way, in which case it is competing directly with dedicated sling type bags like the Code of Bell slings. And those dedicated slings might have this one beat due to versatility and expandability. Personally I suggest any would be buyers to really think about your potential content and use case before purchasing this bag. The best case scenario is it could be the perfect EDC+ sling, just enough for you to hold the essentials plus an extra camera or bottle or umbrella or whatever. The worse case scenario is it is way to big as a hip pack and catches on everything and is uncomfortable to carry when loaded out, while also being a mediocre cross-body sling compared to similar products.

Hey Bo! You're reviews are amazing. I'm wondering what you might think of the pros and cons between this bag and the heimplanet bag you called out as your favorite. I'm torn between the 2 and wondering if you had some insight on this specific case? Thanks
@Youknowthebo2 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott. Thank you very much. Both bags are awesome. Can't go wrong with either. Deciding between the two is pretty easy though: the Evergoods has much more volume and therefore is a big more bulky. So it really depends on how much you actually want to carry

Thanks for the review Bo. It’s clearly well made and the capacity may suit many people. For me though it feels whatever one would call the opposite of a Goldilocks bag- it’s too big for regular EDC items and too small as a “work” carry with say laptop etc. For me I’d either use my Bellroy sling/mini for EDC or if I was carrying more items a small backpack or even something like a NutSac Mag Satch. I have no doubt though that Evergoods will make a smaller sling in due course
