Please contact your States Dept on Aging to see if you are eligible for assistance. A friend mentioned this to my mother several years ago, and she was eligible for coupons to use at our farmers' market. There were several other things she was eligible for, such as LIHEAP and free public transportation.

We started container gardening more than 20 years ago because of his Arthritis. We use feed tubs that had feed (beet tops) for cows. Got free back then, but now they're $5.00 a tub. So we started using buckets. It's the only way we can plant & have a garden. We love the fresh taste of our few items we grow but mmm oh so worth it. 😊

I let lettuce go to seed spinach etc collect the seeds dry them replant those seeds or you can plant ends off leak celery spring onion etc

Plant onions with the potatoes. Great as a companion plant. Mom always added coffee and tea leaves to her garden beds. She also put a nail in the ground with each tomato plant. She also used egg shells in the garden. Great seeing Kenny in the garden with you.❤❤❤

Thanks Tessie! Just a quick pro tip. If you plant anything in growbags, be sure they are in their permanent home for the season. You don't want to move them once they start growing. No matter what you plant in them.

I really enjoyed watching you both working together. I love fried potatoes. We have bell peppers and tomatoes so far in containers. I grew beans in a container and they did great. I also love those Flower Rockets at Dollar Tree. They did really well in containers. I didnt know it but I guess now I have a perennial flower bush. It was a pleasant surprise. Little fushia colored flowers. ❤

Great video, Tessie! Since my only outdoor space is a patio, I've grown potatoes there in grow bags for the past few years. It's worked rather well, but I'd like to increase my harvest. This year, I used an oversized, deep, raised bed that my husband built and filled it with rows of red and Yukon gold potatoes; I also have a very large grow bag of fingerlings. I'm curious to see which does better. The coffee was a great tip; it really does make a difference. Loved seeing the two of you working together. Here's to a successful growing season! Your garden soil is probably better than the junk they sell these days as potting soil 😂 Maybe throw some perlite in there, Amazon has cheap bulk bags.

I buy the Kennebec (imo like a white potato) seed potatoes at Weaver's in Fleetwood, PA. I put my potatoes in buckets April 1. I have some green sprouting. Will hill them once the green gets a little higher. When you say add coffee...is it just uncooked coffee. Not cooked coffee grounds. Thanks for the info.

You can you won't get as good of a yield because they're not certified and you can get some different kinds of diseases but if I had sprouted potatoes I would have used them but I didn't have any
