I was hoping the same. Wow, 300 puppies from one mama...it'd be good for her and everyone else for her to be spayed.❤ I felt so badly for her when her puppies got removed...even just the horrible discomfort of full teats with milk and no puppies plus the emotional loss. Heartbreaking 😢😢

I've been involved in some aspect of rescue since 2007 and pulling puppies and leaving mama is a HUGE no no! "We have plenty of pitties" isn't a valid excuse. EVERY shelter and AC has "plenty of pitties" that's why they are the #1 killed year after year. That was disappointing to see. That being said, I'm glad the babies were rescued.

Queenie is trap savy as all hell and they've not had luck catching her, it's on the to do list but it hasn't panned out yet as for the other litter idk, it'd not be super easy to find a foster for the mama and all her puppies but it wasn't simple to find fosters for all the puppies in the first place

Why not use the puppies to catch the mom? She will go where her puppies are to feed them, etc...

I thought the same. The whole thing seemed to me like they where "reaping puppies" for the joy of having puppies. Just bring a vet who can dart the mom! She was in sight the whole time while worrying about her pups. Yes, a vet may be expensive but less so than running there again and again to steal a bunch of puppies which then need to be raised, spayed/neutered and adopted. It would be so much safer for the puppies to stay with mom and in the end they could spay her to make sure no more puppy floods come out of her! Doing it this way - just taking the puppies and leaving the mom to get back into cycle even faster - it's the epitome of shortsightedness to me! :(

@@Kirmeins agreed. All done for a show if you ask me. Dart the mom or do a Tia move, bring a kennel out with the pups in it, wait for her to go in and pull the door shut. I know it's not simple and takes more time, but just stealing her pups seems ridiculous especially at 2 weeks old and then having to bottle feed them. They are better off with her a bit longer.

Shame they all had to be spayed and neutered at such a young age though, as this is extremely likely to make them much more prone to serious diseases and illnesses, when they are older. Ideally no dogs should be de-sexed until they are at least two years of age. :(

I was brought up and raised in Charleston South Carolina years ago. I left Charleston in 1969 as I got married back then. I sure do miss it a lot I wish I could afford to go back and be there again I miss my childhood friend best friend that is. I love what you guys are doing for all the dogs and the cats and the kittens and the puppies and I love watching the videos that you have in Charleston and the ones in Mount pleasant also good luck on all the babies

One of the best ways to bottle feed is using platted nursery. It allows you to put your finger on the bag and that encourages the puppies to nurse. Also if you know what food momma is eating, you put the kibble dry in a blender and make it into a powder. If you mix a little of the powdered kibble in the formula it will taste more like momma’s milk.

so i have a recommendation. i saw a video about people who have dogs and those that do not. i am not exact on the percentage, but a very HIGH percentage of them were less likely to have their houses broken into to. thieves are way less likely to deal with a house that has barking dogs. so if someone was on the fence, they can consider the dual role that pets have in our lives. companions as well as protection and the natural deterrent they provide

I'm pretty sure there are some shelters in your home region - it doesn't matter which shelter you go to after all. There are gems waiting in everyone of them I bet. Just google for shelters around you. :)

Why not get a vet with a tranquilizer gun to capture Queenie?? Those nursing puppies should not have been taken from her for at least a few more weeks. They should have set up a trap or enclosure with the pups inside where Queenie could get in to them but would be closed in. She would do whatever it took to get to her babies. Some of the things they do on this show are bothersome…..

I have no respect for rescues that take the puppies and leave the mom. Almost all of those moms are killed. They make money on the puppies so they should use some of that money to save the mother.

Tax payers money spends about 2billoon a year on housing, euthanasia, medical and all with shelters so it is shocking to me that they can’t request more $ or use most they spend on euthanasia and disposal of so many and use that to build more room for these animals.

Why aren't you trapping Queenie? You say she's had 300 pups!! She could have reared her pups then been speyed. They are too young and missing out on important nutrients needed for their immune systems. I was not impressed with this program at all!! Speying a dog in time for a fashion show!! Unbelievable AMERICANS IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. I bet Eldad from Hope for Paws would be horrified if he saw this program. Leaving that Pitty mom behind too. I felt physically sick watching this.

The truth of the matter is to trap these feral dogs would mean euthanasia for them, and the shelter would probably be closed down by activists against any sort of euthanasia; of course, you’ll never see these activists working to catch these feral dogs and tame them. Activists are only good at one thing: screaming nonsense at others who do the work that they refuse to do, but will tell you the worker how to do it.
