Stradlin and Rose wrote the song (with the working title "Don't You Cry Tonight") in March 1985, shortly after Guns N' Roses was formed in Los Angeles.[1] In the Special Collector’s Edition of Rolling Stone dedicated to the band, Kory Grow quotes Rose: It was [about] a girl that Izzy had gone out with, and I was really attracted to her, and they split up. I was sitting outside the Roxy, and I was really in love with this person and she was realising this wasn’t gonna work - she wanted to do other things, and she was telling me goodbye and I sat down and just started crying, and she was telling me, ‘Don’t cry.’ The next night, we got together and wrote the song in five minutes.

Don't cry, November Rain and Estranged where one song of 21 minutes 'Without you' but it was way to long so they divided the song up. As far as i remember.
@dipsydoodle79884 жыл бұрын
One thing to keep in mind is that November Rain, Don't Cry and Estranged are connected. They are part of a trilogy. Maybe that might make it easier to grasp. Those songs and videos are meant to be overwhelming so don't feel bad being overwhelmed. As far as Welcone to the Jungle being the only hype song? Haha..NO. Move away from the trilogy for a bit. Do You Could Be Mine Next. Garden of Eden is also hype, so is Mr. Brownstone and Coma. There isn't a video for Coma. You will want to pull up those lyrics tho and hold onto ya butt.

I'm a big GNR fan, and they're the reason I became a musician. They can go from really rocking songs like Welcome To The Jungle to really drawn out epics like November Rain. Like any other band, there are a lot of other songs from their catalog that weren't singles that are just as great, like Rocket Queen, Don't Damn Me, and Locomotive. As far as this video goes, it goes to say that at that point, they were one of the biggest bands in the world. They could probably put anything on video. Having said that, this one is part of a trilogy based on a short story named Without You. This would be part 1, then November Rain, then Estranged.
@Stranglethroat4 жыл бұрын
GNR has a lot of hype songs, but most of them are pretty early. As time goes on, Axl takes over the band more and more, and much of the dirty bluesy-metal sound leaves with Izzy Stradlin in '91. I'd recommend "Nightrain", "My Michelle" and "Mr Brownstone"

Hard hitters you want Pretty Tied Up, Shotgun Blues, Rocket Queen, Night Train, Dead Horse, Garden of Eden, Out Ta Get Me, Don't Damn me for good starting places. I Used To Love Her is their "funny" song to get you a fuller spectrum on their music. Also, the order of the videos for the trilogy is Don't Cry, November Rain, then Estranged. Unofficialy some people put Sweet Child O' Mine first and watch all four for a better feel of the beginiing, middle, and end of a relationship but it's not part of the story they were telling with the trilogy. My personal favorite song in the world is Patience Thanks for the vids boss. Peace

I'm sure someone already said it, but this is the first song in the video trilogy of Don't Cry, November Rain, and Estranged. In this video he is being unfaithful to his girlfriend and they are struggling, but it also has a lot of scenes dealing with reincarnation which makes it kinda confusing. You already seen November Rain where he and his girlfriend get married and then she commits suicide because she can't handle him cheating on her. The last one is Estranged where he is dealing with her death and trying to become a better person. The guy singing backup in this video is Shannon Hoon. He was the lead singer of a group called Blind Melon. You would probably like their song No Rain. It was one of their most popular songs. Anyway thanks for another great reaction to another great GNR song!! You know I think you're Awesome!!🙂

The video is a collection of over the top stuff for sure! But maybe because this is a rock ballad, the ''drowning'' is not literal, but you can ''drown'' in a relationship, you might want to see the relationship crash n burn (like the car) and, yeah, they probably are high and thinking this would look cool :P

I love this song too by Gun~N~Roses There is not one song by them I don't love. This band is one of my favorite bands.
