In one word... Abuse... the gap is disassociation. The quiet "pleasant" section is going to the "happy place" internally to avoid the reality of your abuse Coming out of that section toward the ending is finally working yourself up to violently resist The final lines bring it all together you have tried to make it better, to avoid, to appease none of that worked. Jimmy and Pushit are both about child archetypes. Jimmy is more of trying to figure out how the inner child got hurt, hopeful it can heal. Pushit is some much darker. It's pretty much about trying to survive the self abuse from the wounded inner child.

Yo Dustin! Yeah, Pushit gets into it. Deserves multiple relistens. Like others, I go with the toxic relationship. In Undertow the theme was about mostly about drugs destroying oneself, in Aenima they've moved on to people killing you... Broadly speaking. The crescendo at the end needs a restraining order. You can hit Cesaro and Ions interludes on your own. Buckle up for Ænema & Third Eye.

I agree with this. I think they are great for the whole album experience. Take some and just listen to the whole thing. Then the interludes break up and frame the flow it a way that is well crafted.

Oooooo this is such a great song about just a toxic relationship 🔥🔥🔥 Maynard uses his voice as an equal instrument so it sits in the back of the mix. Obviously it goes forward when he emphasizes or screams. You should check out the live version. It's God tier.
