I like the fact it has a larger oil chamber. i got a unit that took the dewalt batteries. while the saw head and poll did great , the oild chamber was tinny. I'm hopping to test some other brands as well. like you i tell how it is, good & the bad. nice video.

Safety is one of the most important parts of using any power tools. It was wonderful watching you using full gear PPE. Even to having your phone on the ready in case you needed help. Only thing missing, possibility just not shown, is a really good first aid (trauma) kit. I recommend Refuge Medical. Thank you and GOD bless.

Test suggestion: electric mountain bike. You could have strapped it to the grapple, removed while you worked then stap it again to the skid steer when you dropped at the house, then ride the bike to get the 4-wheeler, strap the bike somewhere and cruise back to the house - no walking! Kind regards.

Nice video, Josh. I bought one of the Echo DCS-5000 electric chainsaws (you ran out of time to test it) about 18 months ago. It is a nice piece of equipment. Battery lasts a long time. Lots of nice features like cover nuts that are attached to the cover and a scrench that clips into the bottom of the saw and is always easy to find. I usually take it and the gas saw out into the woods so I have a backup and in case I get a bar pinched. I also use it when I am trying to be more quiet, like on Sunday morning. I have cut down trees with it and it is especially nice for bucking firewood. After using it for a while, I also bought the Echo battery blower which gave me the second battery and charger. (Blower is great, too.)

I have a Husqvarna 14" pole saw that has served me very well over the years. But the one thing you have that I wish I had but don't is that telescoping feature. With my Husky you have two fixed pieces and it is a royal pain going back and forth between long and short range. I basically use it at full length full-time because of the hassle involved in changing the cutting head length. But all-in-all I like gas powered tools much better than the electric because as the electric stuff ages the battery tends to die faster and lose power. That's not good when using a saw, I'm sure you'll agree. Very interesting video, though. Thumbs up.

Amsoil bar oil is for oak as flash point is 675 degrees sand penetrates the rollers which cools the chain. Take care of your chain and will help you.

Amazing how quick something can go to heck. I have had people rip the quick tach off so I'm always wary. I never liked the skid steer at work. Doubt those were quick disconnect couplers so the whole thing could have swung into the cab.

Great looking pole saw. I could see getting that Echo for personal use as an upgrade to the manual corona pole pruner / saw I have. Way faster and easier vs working a manual pole saw by hand. Thanks to a very generous donor, for the trail crew where we have about 100 miles of non-Wilderness hiking / equestrian trail to keep clear of brush and branch growth, we're getting a Stihl HT135 + the Back Mount RTS harness. A totally different animal than a battery saw.

Buddy looks so much like my old boy Max. He was a super awesome dog. The people that had him before me said he was crazy and could not be around other animals or kids......they were so wrong. He was a fantastic dog and only had to be putdown after 4 years because of distemper. Poor old boy didn't get the care and immunizations he needed as a pup. Have a Belgian Tavern now, she is a great dog also but not my old man Max.

Enjoyed the pole saw demo. I have a weed eater with heavier larger battery. It was heavy to begin with. But got lighter as my muscles got stronger! This battery lasted longer and I could get the heavier stuff. 81 and still cleaning off hillsides!

The other mistake you made was not cutting the bottom of the limbs first before cutting the tops like you first demonstrated.

You need to be very careful when lone wolfing through jobs. Long story short I was working in my garage and my back spasmed and I wasn't able to get to my phone. I yelled "OK GOOGLE" when it beeped I said call 911 and it called 911. It will call anybody on you call list or it can Google. Just idea an for you, check your phone and see if it works I don't know if it works on all phones.
