Stahlwille is not wasting money on to throw away card boxes. They keep it simple and effective. Best quality of wrenches I ever had. And I have Hazet and Gedore also in my shop. I am strongly in favor for Stahlwille, this are made to last for ever.

so Ko-ken, Stahl Wille, or Hazet ratchet which is the better one I just ordered a 3/8 Koken should get it tomorrow it's the 72tooth one. hope to get a Hazet and Stahlwille in the next month or two.

Stahlwille tools have a very, very light protective coating on them, they are dipped at the end of the manufacturing process. This is especially noticable on their sockets. Get a set of you haven't already; aside from tool quality, you will be impressed by the quality of the storage compartments and foam inserts. The light protective tool coatings often times are a bit chipped away during handling but most of the time coatings are in tact upon delivery. After much use, the Stahlwille tools will become even more attractive looking. I tend to like when tools have the look of actually being used heavily and having a box full of Snap-on, Hazet, and Stahlwille, I can attest that Stahlwille tools age much better than the rest. (Not sure if it's been mentioned, feel free to disregard if so)

The double box end spanners tend to be longer than combination wrenches providing better leverage. Also bearing down with a box end in your palm is a bit more comfortable than an open end. I think you might use them more often than you think.

I really like stahlwille wrenches, series 14 my favorite and used them for over 25 years . The finish doesn't mark as easily as likes of snapon/mac and has ergonomic advantages over full polish . The broaching is good fit, open ends nothing magic but still decent .

That particular Hazet isn't FOD compliant because the sockets/extentions don't lock, like on the quick release type. So the whole socket could fall and could get missed. My car still has a 1/2" ratchet riding around in it somewhere.

Good pronunciation of Stahwille. I used a lot of Stahwille stuff in my 12 year career as a Navy aircraft engineer, it’s good stuff. I began watching your videos when I got myself a ‘97 JDM WRX wagon... since sold that car and stopped watching Subaru related stuff, but I find myself back watching your tool content!

See to me both companies ratchets are extremely thick. Stahlwille makes good tools. Hazet is just kinda okay in my opinion. I still prefer Snap-On. Their low profile ratchet is quite thin. I do know Stahlwille makes some rather tough wrenches. But not sure they are any tougher than Snap-On . Now that being said Hazet and Stahlwille both are less money. I do like the finish on Stahlwille and Hazet. They are easier to maintain a grip with where Snap-On can be tricky if you have any oil or grease on your hands. I at least know when one of my Snap-On tools breaks down I have great service from our dealer. So very little down time. So I consider Stahlwille and Hazet to be much like SK or Proto where you have to send them in for any warranty work.

Thank you for the information! I recently picked up a matco 1/4 9in ratchet. Super low profile compared to snap or Mac. I was going pick up a hazet but now that I’m seeing stahlwille I’m a bit torn!!

What are your opinions on stahlwille vs snap on for ratchets and sockets? Where I'm moving to doesn't have a snap on franchisee so time for delivery and repair will be the same for both and generally the same availability. I'm an aircraft engineer on wide and narrow body jets to provide context.

I like the deep off set box end. The spanners use most often are the Gedore 1B model. They are made locally by gedore in South Africa. I also purchased the gedore 7 model as well I only use them if a slimmer wrench is needed. I prefer the grip of a textured finish over a polished finish.

From the rest of the world it just seems like American Tools are overpriced AF you always gotta ask who's paying and in Germany it's the Company in the US mostly the Worker since your reflection won't tighten screws your Company wouldn't pay a tool company for polishing Wrenches therefore German tools aren't polished a Stahlwille Wrench has no step that doesn't increase performance cause that's the only thing selling there tools

Anyway contacted AmJp and they apologized and told me if i want to cancel the order and re-buy them i would be charged the price as i previously paid - they went up in the new year- And so i did, plus added more items and waited like 10 days, the things still weren't shipped so i just cancelled them altogether. :(

The top brands in Europe are Hazet and Gedore. Stahlwille is a B brand.

This is not true at all. Stahlwille would be your A brand, along with Hazet. Gedore will depend on the tool, most are A brand but honestly some are B brand, bordering on C brand with manufacturing outside of Germany (Brazil, India, South Africa). Stahlwille and Hazet both have had their forging process and manufacturing headquartered in Germany for their entire history.

@ad van der Velden there is a reason that you would say that. Gedore are a cheaper brand thus making them more accessible to your everyday mechanic and DIYer. Now if you go on ebay now and search for Gedore and Stahlwille I am sure you will see 1000s of results for Gedore then search for stahlwille 10mm youll find around 200 items. Both Gedore and Hazet are manufactured from the same town in Germany. Stahlwille export 90% of their product outside of the EU. Stahlwille are the top tool brand followed by Hazet then id put heyco and Gedore close third. I see Indian made Gedores all the time also which takes away from the made in Germany standard.
