I’d like everyone to know that this community is still pretty strong, even 7 years after it closed. There’s a lot to it now, with many teams hosting the game in different ways, and lots of attempts at conservation of Disney’s older ideas. If you ever want to try the game, I recommend starting with Rewritten since it’s the closest to the original, and then branching out.

As someone who was super into ToonTown Online as a kid/teen, it nice to play ToonTown Rewritten and see that they have managed to make it feel like the game never shutdown. So far everything they have done meshes very well with the original spirit of the game, and the community remains one of the best I have seen in an MMO :)

I love Toontown: Corporate Clash! It’s pretty much TTO, but expanded upon for a much better experience. The staff there are also very passionate when it comes with adding new content! They added a new boss, new mini bosses, new toon species, new gags and cogs, and tons of QOL improvements.

Corporate Clash is also a popular Toontown server which has much more added on from the original, I would highly recommend playing it, as it's revamped much of the game to make it highly addicting among fans. On top of that, they're planning on redesigning all of the cogs, with Lawbots already changed in July. And with them doing Holiday events, there's often new and fun stuff to do for everyone. :)

when i was younger I tried playing Toontown but I literally had no idea what I was doing or what i was meant to do. it seemed like I always ran into those evil guys and could never beat them. Like they were everywhere. I was so confused and even got frustrated and just quit playing and never played again. I even tried to play toon town rewritten, and still was so confused. I didn't even know there were mini-games (not even in the original). I just walk around cluelessly wondering what to do. However, with club penguin, I understood it better because they always had events and stuff every month with tasks you need to do with a prize when you finish. It really was engaging too because you had to come back the next day to do the next task. And of course, I didn't just do the events, I made friends there as well and I could customize my character more which i really like doing when it comes to online games.

It's always a great day when someone makes a video about Toontown. And as people have said already, there's more than one way to experience it! There's the big servers with Rewritten and Corporate Clash, but there are a few others, and more being made every day! There's never been a better time to get back into Toontown, and seeing these reminders of the past are always helpful for those of us designing servers for the future. Seriously, if you liked Toontown Online in the past, or never got to try it out, there's never been a better time to get into the game(s).

Dude, I remember seeing all the ads for ToonTown when I was a kid alongside Club Penguin and wishing I could play it, make new friends, and just play. It was enough that I got that DS game for Club Penguin since I knew I couldn’t play it on my computer and I knew by that time, the original ToonTown was gone 🥲 It was only recently, as in today, that I found out they relaunched with ToonTown Rewritten and I just downloaded it. Definitely going to enjoy it for my younger self and maybe hoping they bring back Club Penguin as well 🤞

My family never had a computer at the time so I never knew it existed, and once we did that’s when Club Penguin came out and was getting popular, never got into it because I was instantly permanently banned and gave up with Disney games. I really missed out, a few years later I got into Animal Jam and stuck to that for 3 years.

Pirates of the Caribbean Online is also another game to talk about. Came out the same time as Toontown and also cut for Club Penguin.

I actually discovered Toontown before Club Penguin. I didn’t get too fat into the game, (only getting to Daisy’s Garden because of the Mingler task) but I still had memories playing this game. The only reason I stopped playing was because of the dumb paywall. I basically lost my account when the subscription expired because my character was on a premium slot. After that, I found Club Penguin and never looked back. I also gotta mention this: Toontown back in the day required NASA to run smoothly. My PC and my Wifi couldn’t handle the graphical load Toontown had and often crashed.

Everything I loved playing growing up is gone, and my runescape, the only thing that didn't go, got fucking hacked. ToonTown, FusionFall, Club Penguin, soon to be all those flashplayer games. At least the world of shows I loved has done absolutely amazingly in the last year. Almost everything I loved has gotten a reboot, but like, actual amazing reboots.

I used to play this when I was little, I had a membership, and it was fun to play until 2013, when the game shut down. All I had left was club penguin, Minecraft, Mario, and a few other games.
