Although this comment is 8 months told, imma answer bluntly. It's because Cogs are based off businessmen. Business men are stereotypically known for grey suits, black ties, white pressed shirts and no fun, just all seriousness so the minute the cogs see this fun, they take it away. It's also suppose to be a way to strive for not dying and working harder or not letting the cogs win but sometimes its not possible. Then again if its done right maybe not. I am aware Loopy did a video on this recently but this is in case you missed it.

Maybe it’s because they’re confiscating the gags, you know, like a teacher or business person, and they “hide” them in the gag barrels you find in the factories, mints, and offices.

Most low toons are terrible at the game somehow, despite how simple it is, and they don't train their gags. I'm not rude in pushing them away, but that's the main reason they are pushed away. If I see a low toon, though, who has level 5+ gags in all tracks, though, and they are good in battle, then I will bring them along, cause they clearly know what they're doing.

It's alright to push them away if they try to access a facility/the VP way too early, but leaving the in the elevator is not okay, period. I was gonna do a VP with my old friend, and we were both ready. She was a higher laff than me and, of course, I got thrown into the elevator without being able to leave. I remember being around 60 or 70 laff at the time since she was always a little bit higher than me. Long story short I DCed but either way they were still being a prick. It's alright to tell low toons off for their gags and laff, but for he love of all that is good don't be a dick and try to green them unless they're: A. Greening others B. Putting their training before killing all the cogs in the most efficient way and refuse to stop Or C. Refuse to listen to any higher toons and always keep going for their own, ineffective strategies, and keep doing so regardless of what other toons tell them to do Otherwise please don't be a dick and just tell them to stop. Even if they keep saying "pls inv" that doesn't mean you have the right to be a prick.

Kind of unrelated to the video except for the fact that this was a missed opportunity but I think a cell shaded style would've suited the whole experience better, giving it that toony, comical style that it's trying to go for. The black soft shading of the toons throw me off these days when I recently became accustomed to Jet Set Radio (my bias comes from here) which used the cell shading to add to the wackiness and chaos of Tokyo. It was a very animated experience. The cell shaded style could be used to make Toontown really pop and seem like the tooniest of all places. You could have bold black outlines around the toons, sorta bringing emphasis to them, strong shadows in different areas in Toontown (dark shadows and only streetlights and moonlight illuminating Donald's Dreamland...just imagine that.), colors popping up on toons, clear distinction between cogs and toons possibly...exaggerated in-game cinematics with characters in locomotions...just had to get that off my chest. HUGE MISSED OPPORTUNITY

The new Toontown servers could definitely modify the Beancounter and the Downsizer. I do not know much about coding, but I'm betting that simply changing colors of a model isn't too hard. the Beancounter to be a more recognizable cash-bot pale blue color. Then change the downsizer to be slightly more skin-toned, in order to match its pink hands and the other skin colored boss bots.

Loopy, I never thought of it that way. I actually never got past firehouse and 60 laff on TTO, so I didn't understand the whole cashbot, lawbot, and bossbot suits (thanks for teaching me coach Z.) Now that I am more experienced, I realize how much better the game could have really been.

Liked and subscribed. Recently started playing toontown corporate clash. I played tto back in 2003. I started not long before the Sellbot VP came out. Been playing off and on ever since. Played ttr with the beta key and have a 120+ laugh toon on there. Ttr is better than tto but they don’t have much new content. Ttcc is any OG tt player’s wet dream, it has tons of amazing new content and I cannot see myself ever getting tired of it. Thank you so much and thank you to the ttcc staff.

Don't think you knew this at the time but uhh... Chugging a whole bottle of Robitussin will get you super high, it's often refered to as "Robowalking" the dxm in it gives you an extreme euphoria, sometimes even a visual trip.

What about the street loading system. I mean it's 2017, can't you just track the camera and load the geometry in the players view?

Not only is the fog system unrealistic, it has caused a lot of glitches in the past where you actually have to repeatedly exit* the area or go in shops in order to load it properly.

I didn't say remove the loading screen, I mean use the Panda3D's in-built Camera Culling system to hide polygons out of view rather than having the street load in chunks. Removing the loading screen probably would be easier actually, as some servers already do that.

MMOs tend to reuse models a lot. It's easier to re color or resize a enemy then to make a new one. That would be lazy in a normal game (they do it in normal games anyway but whatever) but in an mmo it makes more sense. It's still cutting corners though

not all of this is toontown's fault though, a lot of it is down to when toontown came out when internet speed was so limited, any save counted. that's why they reuse cog heads and have to cut corners.

It definitely is a good way to optimize efficiency and space. That said, it's definitely a product of it's time. Nowadays computers are so capable that I think it's not very excusable to cut corners as blatantly as TTO did.

I wish the 3 playgrounds were here. The game can be super fast... especially if you have high toon friends or multitoon. Having many playgrounds to go through and many tasks that help strengthen your toon could give more playability with longer playthroughs. I’m sad with all the missing content. But I still wouldn’t trade ToonTown for Club Penguin like Disney did. Now do they even have any game running?

Well, I don't exactly agree that they were cutting corners because they we're lazy or something, but keep in mind when this game was developed there were zero MMOs that were targeted for family. Disney did not want to invest much into Toontown, so that means they had a low budget for staff, art, marketing, etc. There were about 5 or 6 developers working on the game engine AND the game at once. They had to design and write a game engine, server infrastructure, and a whole MMO that could handle millions of players in about 5 years. Most if not all of these developers had no experience in the game development/design industry, so they had to be creative. However, once the game blew up and they were getting a ton of profit, I do think they were being lazy and not doing anything, and eventually people got bored, game was being exploited (they did nothing about it) , so they just shut it down.
