When they say quit the game, I think they are referring to if a parent tells their child to get off Toontown, are they able to open their sticker book and log off. The parents are the ones paying for the memberships so they don’t want parents to be annoyed by their kids always saying “i can’t get off I’m in a building”

Maybe 12.4 implies that there could have been a feature where toons could exit Toontown inside of a building, and when they log on next, they spawn where they left off inside the building, to finish the remaining floors.

On the time of it's release that would of been very handy, since internet was bad back then and you'd often get disconnected in a building. It was literally the biggest obstacle when I played retail :D

I’m very doubtful, easily abusable to keep buildings locked shut. But then again could’ve been why it was scrapped but I don’t think that would’ve been an oversight of theirs until last minute and scrapped that idea

one of my favorite parts about this document is how instead of saying a toon "goes sad", they actually say a toon "dies". ofc its the same thing, but i find it interesting how they used terminology more commonly used by people playing the game than what the game itself tells you. amazing video as always

The closest thing to healing/trading in a building between floors would be the Unite phrases, but this sounds like you were originally able to trade specific kinds of gags. It'd be cool if there was a button that teleports your Doodle into the Cog Building between battles to perform tricks, with the same tricks system in the Estates.

I noticed something, one, I know this is an older video but Imma comment anyway. The "Suits" would not be able to fly away and despawn because they are humans at the time and not yet robots. If I see a human spawn a propeller from the top of their head, I'd be freaking out.

I can't remember if I'm making this up, but I'm pretty sure it discussed elevators popping up from the ground as the way they spawned. Honestly it's spookier than the propellers!

Super cool! ❤️ I love how you broke the document down and tied it to today’s Toontown, speculating what Toontown could have had to offer. The ‘trading’ bit really got me curious as I wonder if Toons would be able to have a trading system, I wonder if Cogs also would also have an ability to? Whether it be for certain fighting strategies or even secretive information after the end of a building or even a boss battle, (with other Cogs but there may be dialogue or the camera panning on the screen hinting the secretive information) that would lure Toons to be able to try and solve? (of course that might be storyline stuff that may be out of reach and I’m buying into it too much) but really neat! 💕

The elevator concept was understandable but imagine if you could solo the building; but the building scales with how many toons are with you and the rewards scale as well? Even cooler is, lets say 1 toon is in a building and you see he's inside: Wouldn't it be amazing if the building will let you walk in during a fight and help that toon? Not only does that mean you could join later and not worry about a timer, but also you can help out a struggling toon instead of waiting for them to fail/succeed. The doors closing only when 4 toons are in the building. A toon got sad while they were in there? Well the doors would open to let another toon run in and help finish it! This would really help make the game more fun and less limited in options!

I know the 'Your Ideas' series have kind of ended, but if you did do another episode an idea I've always had is how Bumpy Bumblebehr got put up for trail for all eternity. If I had to guess, I'd say that maybe he was a high Toon Resistance and Toon HQ member, so he acted brash and tried to investigate the Corporate Offices. Maybe the GIANT orange goons you see in DA offices found him there, and sent him to Court, and ever since then that place has been off limits.

toontown mystery: how are toons able to get a "notification" about their deliveries at the estate? do they have a mobile phone? if so, why couldn't we use it to access the cattlelog in the playground, streets, etc.?

I'd honestly love to see a developer try to remake the original concept for toon town with the current concepts we have today. All the differences it'd have from actual toon town, it'd be pretty awesome. Could be waiting for more possible concepts to be revealed? Maybe.

Just realised the "elevator spawns from the ground to add cogs" would be perfect for skelecogs! A sort of skeleton raising from the ground or a robot from a cog buildings basement, under the path. It's both spooky and acurate!

In the video shown off that ?joe? had in ttr’s developer stream, there was something mentioned called a treasure trader, where they said they could share treasures with all their friends. Whether this is literal (Laff, playground treasures, beans, gags, etc) or not (maybe some sort of card game idk) I have no clue, but maybe that’s what the “trading” concept talked about here is.

I personally think trading means anything in the gag page and otherwise, like gags, beans or sos cards. Say someone is low on gags at the end of a battle and at the checkpoint, that toon can receive gags equivalent to his gag experience, or someone needs a certain SOS for the training he is about to do, you can trade cards at buildings, playgrounds, and otherwise. But thats just what I think.

I hope more docs get posted, im EXTREMELY interested in the trade feature. I still have a old hard drive with the brown dog launcher on it assuming it works (last i checked 5 months ago, it did but i need an adapter now) and i wish i could go look at the old phase files. In terms of the rooms at the end, i was thinking they were talking about an early version of estates. Since they say "can i go to them within the battle" (sorry if thats wrong, mobile doesnt let me leave commenting to check the video) Maybe they wanted more features to do with this room and it ended up being the estates we see today

Reading it right after commenting, it says "can i quit the game, or go back to room from with a battle" so it could be what i said, or leaving the battle to walk around in the room? Maybe the battle system was like a gui only at the time? Who knows. It might also be something similar to playgrounds at the time, having your own room instead of a full playground, but i really doubt that one

In a interview with Disney games senior vice President Sean Shoptaw he mentions how they want to do more with Disney's classic characters and brands Disney has its vault wide open meaning that any developer can have a crack at making a game based off of their characters and IPS so its possible that a developer can come in a get Toontown this means that Jessie's company Shell games could revival Toontown and bring it back

I wonder... could "Trading" be the ability to swap to an alternative toon? It would make more use of them and trading is a form of exchange, which would make sense as it not only has your other toons feel more alive with your current toon; but lets you access their full range of gags, which you're always 1 gag less from. Would it be Overpowered? Probably. But it could be useful for leveling a weaker toon or a friend by swapping to your stronger toon, without needing to go through all the process of logging out a toon, selecting the toon and coming back.

It seems that at this point, what we call "Tiers" on the pecking order, they refered to as levels, based on the number and location of where each "level" would be. It makes me believe suits were intended to just be based on tier, instead of the 2-part system of today's cogs.

It's just pure speculation on my part but I feel as though his interest would mainly be driven by a community outpour and if it made sense financially. He's always maintained though that he has love for Toontown and would like to see it back someday.

Invasions I would imagine are meant to try and stop toons or slow them down quickly. Loads and loads of cogs coming in to battle. It's just not as effective as the cogs want it to be! Whoever controls invasions, I think that's something we haven't discovered yet. I love the Chairman in Clash. It's silly. I guess when invasions happen, those cogs are coming out in such big numbers that they take over absolutely everything. Sorry Cashbots.
