Just had two root canal molars surgically removed root by root and bone graft placed in both teeth. No pain at all. It was a piece of cake because I have the best dentist ever!

So I had a root canal back in 99’ and now it’s infected and cracked. I had no idea till they did my X-rays when I had my cleaning. I am choosing to do an implant. I need to have it extracted. I’ve never had a tooth extracted before. Also my dentist says I’ll need a bone graph. Your videos are helping me. I haven’t had my oral surgeon appointment yet to go over it all. I just have been watching your videos. Basically 6 months by the time my fake tooth is installed.

Thank you for checking out the video and sharing your story. I’m glad they’ve helped in some way. Yea- it sounds like a graft is likely and possibly 6-8 months before tooth is on there depending where you are in the mouth. I’m confident the process will go well. Lmk if I can help in any way!

Hi. It’s in my upper left side. So not too noticeable when I smile. I’m pretty nervous about it all. Thank you. I might have questions after I meet with the oral surgeon.

If you are going with a implant and have to remove the tooth first. Do you have to wait for implant after tooth is pulled or have to wait until it heals? Also tooth removed what is put in the place of the missing tooth especially the top front tooth?

Most often we will extract,place bone same day and let it heal, then place the implant -sometimes we can extract, place implant the same day we pull the tooth, do whatever grafting is necessary -teeth in the back we typically don’t put a tooth on the implant until it’s well into the healing phase -I have some patients where we extracted the tooth, placed implant same day, and put a provisional (tooth) on the implant that same day as well which the patient kept on during the healing period. Once implant healed we made the final tooth. Hope that makes sense!

Molar for me. Had to have old tooth removed by cutting the gums on the side due to prior root canal. Graft same day I think or maybe a few days later. Then 6 months until implant was secured in. I would rather be inconvinced 6 months than risk a failure.

Is it possible to do an implant without a graft? Can you still get an implant down the road? I had an abscessed tooth right of front, that a root canal did not help, so I had it pulled. A bridge makes me nervous, but if I could do an implant without a graft, I’d do it in a second

It is possible to do the implant without the graft assuming there is enough bone. If there is not enough bone then a graft may be needed to 'plump up' the area and make it so there is enough bone If you are extracting a tooth and know you want to do an implant, the same day we extract we typically place a graft, it's not always a must but typically is the best thing to do. You typically can still get an implant down the road but just keep in mind the more time goes by the more your bone will slowly atrophy (shrink) and could make the implant more difficult to do later If you're missing a front tooth and it's already been pulled, you just need to see if there is enough bone for the implant. If there isn't then the graft is really the only option in order to be a candidate. the conditions nd shape of the adjacent teeth is important to keep in mind for the bridge Let. me know if I can help in any. I have to have a tooth pulled its a back moller closet to the wisdom teeth its rotted an is causeing my bpm to stay elevated i do have anxiety an history of elavated heart rate an on medicine i heard that there is a local anesthetic that doesent affect the heart rate any recommendations doctor?

@@gijoefanatics typically for patients with heart conditions we will use a local that doesn’t have any epinephrine in it. There are various forms of this but in general that’s what we typically do. Always good to take blood pressure before the appointment as well

@@drhoulik It actually did. It just popped right out and the dentist popped the graft in. I'm just icing my cheek now. I accidentally grazed my tongue by the site and it feels like there's a hole, is that normal?

@@VelMazariegos how many days has it been? It’s normal to feel a depression there as long as pain levels are good that’s a good sign- when in doubt give your office shout if you want to make sure everything is still in place

Bracers and aligners are very similar. It depends on what you’re trying to correct, how complicated it is, time frame etc… more complex cases generally-braces , simpler -aligners. I hope that helps
