Two things that I love: the Eiffel Tower, and how often Curiosity Show demonstrates perseverance after a failure on the quest to find a way.

My initial ideas were to either A) build the tower using three toothpicks at the base, just all together to make a thicker tower bottom (skyscraper), or B) use two toothpicks at the bottom, one over the other to achieve the same effect as using 4 in a cross pattern (standing fan legs)

Such ancient technology of the past. This will definitely help me with my toothpick tower making project in school.

I really like this video as it shoes engineering as just a different way of thinking and looking at things through a different perspective.

Run out of matches because of the Curiosity Show? Now toothpicks are endangered too!

I wish my country had this show in tv. People would be smarter than they are now.

I was facinated by the level of technology they had to build such a machine. No computers,, all by brain and brawn.

Wouldn't motion from two of the four directions cause the tower to fall with the L-shaped base?
@jeremiahbullfrog92888 ай бұрын
Not if you incorporate a slight lean so the center of gravity is over the base.... although with "motion" you have to have a whole discussion about vibrations and resonance and weight distribution when people go in the tower at various heights and .........

Well done. Nowadays, people would have just broken the two toothpicks to make a T base...
@recklessroges5 жыл бұрын
I broke one twice to make a z-base and got 5 high.

You can make a T base without breaking them.

+Sheriff Njie Thank you very much for your kind remarks. Can you beat me and make a higher tower? Deane.

@@CuriosityShow look at you! several decades later and you're still having fun inspiring people! that's impressive b exactly how I wanna age as well. you two have always been my heros; your show was the only thing my brain was constantly revolving around. I'll suggest you for the Nobel prize of interpretation (which unfortunately might not exist, but would totally be worth considering.)

I guessed the design from the very beginning. You know, sometimes you could almost hear my engineering genius.
