I must say Blazing Knight when it comes to quality you do not let the most minute of details get over looked when making a video. Where to begin? The presentation (both animation and live action) is top notch, the script blends factual evidence and intelligent humour in way that it resembles the work of a master class author. Then there’s the Bantu rant... Lets just say I would not want to be around you if some poor soul mentions the less than stellar manaketes name. I still can't believe Intelligent Systems chose a manga author who had no prior experience with Fire Emblem to be one of the lead writers for Fates. It seems they're not as intelligent as their company name suggests.

I liked Lyre. I always saved an Energy Drop for her to fix that strength stat, and that was enough to make her passable enough to train in her stage. Also, one thing I'd do for weaker units in RD was give them 99 bonus exp so they'd get a level immediately when the battle starts, and that little boost would help a lot too.

I'm super late to the party, but ironically, one of the things that makes Lyre bad is also one of her greatest strengths: being a cat. If you can get her high enough, the cat mastery skill is ABSURD. Still, you're probably better off not using her... but I found her better than Fiona, at least. LOL (Definitely not saying she's good, just not completely unusable!)

I have the experience of trying to use Wendy and Sophia - both starting with horrible hit rates, making their training a painful mission, even if you know how to keep them out of danger. While I can't recommend them to anyone, Wendy is my guilty pleasure, and she became a great General multiple times in my playthrough - but the training session can really feel like a letdown, the promotion bonuses will give her the significant boost that puts her on the map. I however never experienced a fun Sophia build, and she is clearly the worst FE unit in my eyes even now.

I will say I must have had pretty good luck with Wendy, Sophia, and Lyre in my playthroughs. They turned out to pretty much be one of if not the best unit of their class. As well as a few others like Amelia and Nino.

I've had the same situation with all those units minus Lyre, since unless it's the hardest difficult or you're doing an LTC or 0% growth run there are many ways to make bad fire emblem units very potent.

I personally think Arthur is Fire Emblem Fates is worse, his luck actually the worst, even with the skill Gamble unequipped, more than often, he misses his target and is taken out because of his low defense. Even when promoted, he sucks

Fortunately, you can kinda salvage Arthur because of the fact that Luck's benefits were nerfed and Goddess Icons give +4 instead of +2. Throw a couple of them on him and he's much more reliable, especially when you promote him to hero class, since Skill has a much bigger impact on accuracy. He also gains access to Swords, meaning he can control the weapon triangle, further increasing his hit rate when at an advantage. Finally, giving him a Killer weapon when he hits C rank makes him more accurate than using a Steel/Silver weapon with neither of their drawbacks (-Str/Skill for Silver, -5 Speed for Steel) and compounded with his personal skill and Gamble gives him almost a consistent 50% Crit chance.

Low luck sucks, but it's not that big of a deal. He has pretty good damage output, and has a crit aura that can help boost rates to pretty silly amounts. Even if he falls off pretty fast, you can't act like he's worse than anyone on this list.

Actually, I've found that Arthur's Defense is pretty decent given his ridiculous HP. Plus throwing on Gamble and a Killer Axe gives Arthur a ridiculously high Crit Rate, and 30%-ish Crit Rates tend to land more often than not.

However, she has her best opportunity for Exp in the Dawn Brigade, all of whom need exp rather desperately. To make matters worse, she then leaves the DB, leaving you there with a weaker Dawn Brigade and more trouble in later chapters. She's not bad per se, but the circumstances are not in favor of using her.

a lot of people have told me that mia sucks and yet when i used her in Path of Radiance she was better than any of my other units to the point of basically being a final boss walking on my side. unkillable and critting so much that almost no enemy including chapter bosses survived the phase they crossed blades with her. in exchange for my multiple perfect levels on mia and her general badassery, none of my other units excluding nephenee could last more than 2 phases, unfortunately including ike, making him one of probably many incarnations of himself that could not "fight for his friends".

They are correct Mia is one of the worst units in POR, but since POR is one of the easy FE games it's not too hard for bad units like Mia to dominate if they get RNG blessed.

Nice job! 2 things, an abundance of a class does not detract from a unit of that class. It is perfectly fine to use multiple units of a class. Sothe in RD actually gets his bases lowered in several stats with a PoR transfer, because the game takes his caps from PoR instead of giving him actual bonuses.

Makalov's actuallu pretty alright as far as units go, it's just that all Cavaliers in PoR are mostly the same and you've had Titania, Kieran, and Oscar for a while now. So not bad by any means, just outclassed (even if his base stats aren't the greatest).

@@d3-ll754 I think in Makalov's case, it isn't that there are better cavaliers preventing him from being deployed. There are just better units. So you deploy Ike, Titania, Kieran, Oscar, Astrid, Jill, Marcia, somebody with staves, maybe Soren, and maybe Boyd. That's 10 deployment slots filled. When you get Makalov, he's the weakest of the cavaliers. There are better units than the weakest cavalier to deploy. His problem isn't that he's a cavalier, that's his saving grace.

Most people tend to compare him to the rest of the Cavaliers, which is where my logic was coming from. I'll agree that there are loads of better units than Makalov, but I think that's down to PoR having an all-around great list of units. In regards to Soren and Boyd, I tend to switch between them or one of their replacements. Which for me tends to be Calill (doesn't quite have Soren's raw power but makes up for it by having comparable Speed and much better Strength) and Largo (god-awful bulk but comes with a high natural Crit Rate). Either way, I always bring one or the other with me on every playthrough.

I’ll partially disagree, but it really depends on the class. If you’re another cavalier chances are you’re fine and have a shot of being used anyways. If you’re one of 3-4 knights in a game that doesn’t like knights (a lot of them) chances are you’re not going to use them because you have better options. Same goes for a lot of archers. Yes, you can use Rebecca, but she’s still not REALLY that good. Louise comes decent enough and supports Pent. Setsuna is functional ENOUGH but you get Takumi only two chapters later (Birthright) and even 5 chapters EARLIER (Revelations). If you’re going to use one of them as your Sniper of choice... sorry Setsuna.

It's also worth noting that in H3/4 of FE12, Bantu is actually detrimental to get since he costs you a rescue use to get Marth to the throne before you get overrun. Even if all the other units on this list suck, they never force you to use something so valuable in order to recruit them. Also, he can only use the firestone. Other than that, nice video, dude. I liked it. Some units I've been RNBlessed with(Gwendy and Fiona MVP) as well as others I tried and benched in frustration(...Meg). Some even I like by their design and character(Karla and Sophia) despite mixed performances. Bantu I actually benched right away, I saw the bases and compared to my units. He sat in the back or on the bench once I could. Even with this list some I'll still use despite how lackluster they're likely to be. Though the list reaffirmed my intense dislike/hatred of some units. Shannam... Didn't play that game but I dropped my jaw when I realized he was a Swordmaster! That's some Chapter three stats FFS. Even in Lyndis' story!

Common misconception with Karla: You don't have to be on Hector Hard Mode to get her. You can get her on Hector Normal, too. Same thing applies with the extra gaiden chapters and Farina. Source: Every time I play FE7, I play on Hector Normal mode and get all of the above. Yes, even Karla. I really like giving Lyn that Wo Dao.

I know that she's not Hector hard mode specific and I did mention that Barte has to be a level 5 warrior on Hector mode, though since most people automatically think of Hector mode being as just Hector hard mode I'm not surprised by the misconception.

I actually did my first run of Radiant Dawn using Fiona (admittedly on easy to get it over with, so as I could do a more “complete” run on higher difficulties), with a sort of themed run for endgame. I wanted to use units that were related the Daien’s great riders. Ike as Gwain/Greil’s successor, Fiona as Lavenga’s successor, Tauroneo as himself, and Renning filling in for his fellow 4 rider Bryce because shut up.

...I'd actually completely forgotten about Vyland before watching this. He's far from the only cavalier/paladin/great knight to fall victim to sheer numbers, though he might be the one to suffer the most from it. There's just so many units in that class line in most of the games.

I don’t think Sothe is that awful since at least he offers some purpose in his starting chapter and has pretty good growths though he is still the worst in fe9. One unit I am surprised you didn’t at least mention is Nomah from both Gaiden and Echoes. - He is a magic unit in Celica’s path, so already he has a lot of competition - A late game prepromote with weak as hell bases - The second worst growth total in the game - Same spell list as Boey who joins much earlier with way better growths In conclusion, a trash mage with nothing unique to him and will be outclassed heavily by 3 way superior units ( and that’s assuming you neither picked Sonya or made Atlas a mage )

I find it funny how this video came out a few day after I got Bantu in new mystery and yes I can agree with this 100%. Hell I didn't think he was good in shadow dragon either, I just took him off the bench to get Tiki and then it was back to the bench right after. I will say that usually when a list of yours is made I usually find one or two i disagree with but yeah i agree with most of these(can't say anything about the ones from pre 6 since i have yet to play those) so good job. Also is Bantu going to become a new running gag? One more thing, I think Erika would like some of these people since they seem to have worse base stats then her.

While Amelia isn't as bad as the rest of these units, she's technically speaking the 2nd worst unit in Sacred Stones, though due to how easy the game is and the ability to grind, she often turns out strong for a lot of players.
