Hi Antoine, classic Thin Lizzy would be great to cover the era of 'Scott and Robbo' between /74 -78 but they were at their peak between /76 -/77. Something off Jailbreak, Johnny The Fox or Bad Reputation would be great ,Cheers!

What happened to the E power chord?
@AntoineMichaudGuitarLooping3 жыл бұрын
It was too close to the A power chord (same thing but starting from the 6th string instead of 5th) to be considered, but still very essential!

Oh well, that would be amazing actually! There's a lot to choose from. Let it be the first inversion of a major chord, the ambient chords in A Change of Seasons or the open chords in Solitary Shell or The Silent Man, I love it all.

*Overdose* has an intro and outro with B7(no3) and E(no5). *Shoot To Thrill* has E7(no5) variating with Open E-String, right before every single Chorus. According to my ancient tab, the 3-part Breakdown has A/E, G, A, Gsus2/E, D5/A... *Stormy May Day* starts with G5, then Dmadd11(no5)/G (might have a prettier name, too...). *It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)* has Eb/G. Guitars are in F Standard (half step up), due to the Bagpipe. *Who Made Who* has Chorus with C and Csus4. Meanwhile Rhythm Guitar plays C5. There are others, too. Which I can't remember right now. Sometimes E5 might actually be Open E Chord, just without High-E & B Strings. Sometimes two Guitars play the same thing, sometimes very different things.

If the 5 String version of "Open G5" sounds the best, then it's the best version. AC/DC's Sink the Pink might use that version. But if 4, 3 or 2 String version of G5 *sounds better,* then it's surely the right version. Depending on Root note and your tuning, some Power Chords can be played using 2, 3, 4, 5 or even all of the Strings. Sometimes in dozens of different versions (High/Low, skipping Strings, using Open Strings...).
