You can't just use the adapter. If your appliance is not an international appliance you can't use it. They use 220 volts in Europe and we are 110 or 120. Your device must be able to use both

Bought both of the alarms and, depending, it may not work. I watched channel that showed several things to use without paying money. For alerting door opening - place stacked glasses or the ironing board in front.
