When it comes to esports, or any competition really, it’s not just about outplaying your opponents in-game. Sometimes the situation calls for a little psychological warfare, a little BM.
And by bad manners we’re not talking about truly toxic behaviour here, just those times we you really gotta style on your opponent.
Now, whether it’s during the draft or in the game, this week we’ll be counting down the top 10 BM picks and strategies in esports.

There is no such thing as BM pick or strat in dota, unlike in league of legends, dota does not have a closed meta, everything can work and we have seen things 100 times more crazy than a riki carry... Riki carry is kind of dominating the ladder right now in all brackets so, it is not really anything special, sure, it is a rare sight in pro games, but not really incredible.

You should explain what these picks and or actions mean and what makes them bad mannered. As i dota player i completely understood, but without having a explanation of what makes a League of Legends hero a troll pick its difficult to remain engaged. Nothing was explained about techies who is a very complex and unique hero. For instance, give its pick/success rate. And continue with how he lays traps the entire game and makes you scared to walk anywhere.

I was about to comment this. I stopped watching after the Riven pick. I have no idea why that was bm, and the only explanation given was that the best player in the world picked his favorite champion blind? I don't really even know what a blind pick means in this context, because it looked like he was last pick.

Was just about to comment the same thing. I kinda know the LoL and CS:GO parts, but I don't know anything about Dota2, so for those parts I didn't understand the whys. They only explained the Street fighter one properly, which I don't play either, but at least I understood that one thanks to the explanation.

yeah if you haven't played the games you can't get the bm and the video doesn't explain anything. Blind pick in LoL is picking a lane/champion without seeing the opposition, so the opponent can counter pick. Riven is rarely picked, only as a counterpick herself and is considered to be easily countered by certain picks or team strategies. Faker picked her in a way that was saying "i can pick one of the most risky champions and can beat w/e you pick."

+Teemu Kaukoranta Riven mid is absolutely horrid (top lane pick. Not an easy one there, either) and has very, very hard counters in any lane. The enemy mid-laner had not yet picked (Thus blind) and then wound up choosing one of the hardest Riven counters out there (Cassiopeia). Naturally this didn't matter, as shown in the clips. But aye. Horrible, awful pick from a bygone era. They really needed to do a better job of explaining these things.

That was one short time period u could only really deal with the shrooms via Zyra plants, maybe Yorick W or Shaco clone. I actually main Tachanka, the problem people have with him (and the most important thing about playing him) is placement. You’re suppose to be an unstoppable force and an immovable object. The trick is to get as much site visual as well as as much cover possible. And don’t be afraid to leave your turret if things start heating up, you have guns for a reason.

There was an old Dota game between Navi and Kaipi from like 2013 where Navi drafted a troll lineup. Dendi was playing on Zeus (who was a complete joke of a hero at that point in the game) and he somehow managed to solo kill Arteezy's QOP. They picked an Ursa Pos 5 for Kuroky who started in jungle from minute 1 and would call out in global chat whenever he was going into Roshan pit. Navi somehow won and I have no idea how.

Pudge techies is way out there and humorous, but not really bad manners. Me and my mate did pudge mirana level 1 top lane kills. We got it pretty often too. Pudge goes rune in case it's top -> Mirana blocks -> Stops blocking around tower -> Pudge joins top via river -> Mirana fires arrow and runs after arrow(preferably in trees) -> Pudge rots, hits and Mirana shoots -> Pudge LoS in trees and drinks bottle if need be. -> First blood -> Pudge teleport to middle(I'd give my mate a scroll when buying).

Well meepo is a solid pick and by no means troll in dota. The hero is just super hard to play but was quite popular in this years TI. He is played with a pretty different build compared to the past (when I Last played 4 years ago, just started again and the game feels nice and fresh). Meepo had the most xp on average and total in a game this TI.

I dont know lol characters, but i can explain the hero. Riki is perma invis unless if he attacks or if he's under true sight, he has a skill that drops a cloud of smoke and any enemies in it are silenced. Has a targeting blink, a crit, and his ult makes him phased out of the world, and creates a big circle that damages random enemies in an aoe. He is a pub star hero, but in the pro scene he falls off because pros are better at warding than pub players. Picking riki in that tournament was basically saying that they consider that game like a pub game and not a serious match.

Riki also has the smallest collision box (aka hitbox), which in combination with his perma invisibility makes him excellent for trapping enemies near tight spots (cliffs, trees, junctions, ledges...)

Which i can only say that in tourney like this supps will always go broke and planting wards making an (actually squishy hero with mediocre mid to late game carry potential... Imo) like riki a very bad choice. You can rarely ambush someone without expecting some kind of counter assault or traps because of wards. As a roam, it might work but as pos1 carry is just unthinkable. But well everything can work on dota.

I think IG vs Zenith deserved at least an honourable mention here. Post TI 2, IG was defending TI champs, it was an online game though, forgot what tournament it was. But that was the game when Zenith broke IG.. IG were on a tear after TI, they were still unbeatable. until this game where Zenith decided to NOT BAN ANY HEROES vs IG. IG got all the heroes they wanted and still lost.
