Bass cover of the Top 10 Bass Lines/Riffs by Fall Out Boy. I didn't realize that Fall Out Boy had so much material, so I decided to choose my favorite bass line from each album. Honestly I'm still a little surprised that they have released 10 albums (9 not including Great Hits). @@fatinzamri432 im not quite sure (I've tried googling before) but it might be just because Pete isn't a super amazing bass player, I believe in mania album he hired someone to record some fills in songs instead of him playing them. not too sure.

I'm not Chris but I taught myself a few years back. Search the tabs for songs and listen to the song, turn the bass up if you can, work out the rhythm and try to figure it out. If you're struggling watch videos of people playing and see how they do it and just copy. I watched Chris play a lot, it helps. I hope you get into it!

I dont blame Pete Wentz for being a basic bass player as we all have our limitations. The fault goes to Patrick, Andy, and Joe as they were the ones who chose to work with and stick with him. Had they been more gutsy, maybe they couldve found a tighter bass player

Well he founded the band and probably owns a part of it too. That’s the same thing with Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, he sucks but they can’t fire him since he owns the band. I actually think that Pete Wentz isn’t that bad of a bass player. Ofc he simplifies basslines during live performances but literally everyone does that. Recording and playing live are really different, you can’t play a song live exactly how you played it on the record. What is a good bass player for you ? Ofc he’s not Steve Harris, Jaco Pastorius or Cliff Burton but he’s still a decent bass player (and he improved a lot with time). Paul McCartney was a basic bass player too, didn’t play funky bass lines or used many techniques, but people still see him as some bass god. He was a good musician and composer but definitely not a good bass player according to your criteria I think. That’s the exact same deal with Pete Wentz, he’s a good lyricist and FOB got famous because of him for sure. He’s a good musician but not a remarkable bassist. You can be a great musician without being a genius player. When all of the members are geniuses, the band doesn’t last long (except for Dream Theater and some rare ones). And honestly he can keep the beat and that’s more than a lot of musicians I played with can do.
