Regardless, Charizard's change from purple in gen 2 to black in gen 3 was not part of that. Besides, it was probably more a case of black not displaying properly on the Gameboy Colour rather than an actual change.

I personally really like when regional form shinies use the original colouring. If you don't like the new design's colours it gives you a chance to use the colours of the original form while keeping the new design. They could've swutched Morpeko's forms as the shiny of the other form. Imagine seeing a Hangry Morpeko in the wild then you run away because it's scary while in reality it's a little baby that just wanted to play. Then you encounter a normal Morpeko in the wild while in reality it's a Hangry Morpeko that is thrilled that it looks normal and thus passerbys easily fall in front of his feet and he is easily able to defeat them.

Yamper quickly became my most favorite pokemon in Sword and Shield and I couldn't wait to see its shiny. But when I saw phone pics, I couldn't tell what made it a shiny. At a certain lighting, they almost look the same as the standard. I was hoping Game Freak would make Yamper black like tri-color corgis or grey like blue corgis, especially the latter. Blueies are a rarer variety of Pembroke corgis where their coats are an off-color version of tri-colors. They're distinctly grey when they're puppies which works for Yamper as it's referred to as the puppy pokemon.

The theme with Zigzagoon and it's shiny variant is that regular Galarian Zigzagoon is heavy metal (up to Obstagoon being clearly Gene Simmons inspired) while the shiny version represents glam/hair metal.

Gen 8 gave me my favorite Pokemon of all time: Toxtricity. And its shiny is brilliant, as well. It's a great instance of both being nailed out of the park. I do like the Alcremie shiny. It made me think of chocolate/fudge. Love it.
