@gothicadam64765 жыл бұрын
Damn...This list was a rollercoaster for me. First off you made a very questionable call on Your Ozzy inclusion; Ozzy has done some cool colab’s over the years but I personally wouldn’t of gone for Lita. You then completely get back on board with interesting and underrated tunes by “In This Moment” , “Apocalyptica” & “Anthrax” with “Public Enemy”. As far as “Gorillaz” go I would of gone for “DARE” with Shaun Ryder, but I guess “Feel Good Inc.” was the bigger tune. Also, as mentioned elsewhere, Clapton did play on the original “Beatles” recording of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” as well Harrison co-writing “Badge” for “Cream” (Does this now disqualify him from the list?). Your number 2 pick was perfect but as much as I love both “Queen” and Bowie I don’t know if I could justify it as my personal number one? The song is a classic for sure, but does it have the power or experimentation we expect from either artist? I will give though, if you are trying to do a list whereby the artists only ever collaborated on one track it was surprisingly tough! A few personal faves that You didn’t include are as follows:- “White Zombie” & “Iggy Pop” - “Black Sunshine” “1000 Homo DJs”(Trent Reznor & Al Jourgensen / “Ministry”) - “Supernaut” “Faith No More” & “Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E.” - “Another Body Murdered” “Filter” & “The Crystal Method” - “(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do” “Slayer” & “Atari Teenage Riot” - No Remorse ( I Wanna Die) As for Bowie and Queen? Well, again I don’t think You made a bad call here , it just wouldn’t of been my number one. For “Queen” I would of gone for “Innuendo” featuring Steve Howe of “Yes” and Bowie? Ok, this is tough but for me too, but it’s a choice between “This Is Not America” with “Pat Metheny Group” or the re-record of “Without You I’m Nothing” by “Placebo” . In conclusion, an interesting list that at least forced me to think, which always has to be a good thing 😅!

Okay, I WAS gonna gripe about "Walk This Way" only getting the #2 slot, but then I saw what was #1. And... yeah, I totally get it. The best performer ever teaming with the best band ever to record one of the best SONGS ever. I should never have doubted it.

Agree with you also on Apocalyptica. They are an amazing group. They've expanded so far from Metallica covers, which were awesome. One of my favorites is Bring Them Too Light. Also on The Rooftop with Quasimodo is an amazing song as well.

Apocolyptica Ft. Adam Gontier "I Don't Care" I know you picked the one with Brent Smith, but this one just hit closer to home. It was how I felt towards both my parents in the late 2000's. "If you're dead or still alive, I don't care" was exactly how I cared about them both. I knew my Mom was eventually going to die because I knew she'd screw up and OD or something, I was right. My Mom died in 2008, my dad nearly died a week later from heart failure. I didn't even visit him in the hospital because I deemed him not worth my time and an argument would just happen. While my brother drove him to the hospital, I went back to bed. At the time, I was so mad and messed up back in 2008.years later we reconciled and get along better than we ever did. I can actually talk to him.

Great list Rocked! One of my alltime favorite colaborations is 'Licking Cream' from Sevendust, featuring Skin from Skunk Anansie. 'Passenger' had to be on this list.

Jackyl's "locked and loaded" with Brian Johnson, in fact I can't think of another collaboration Johnson was ever involved with. You can't count Geordie because that was his original band before joining AC/DC. Jackyl also did a collaboration with Darryl McDaniels of run dmc called "just like a negro" which lead to some controversy but if you actually read the lyrics there is nothing controversial about it.

THANK YOU for finally mentioning Apocalyptica!!! They’re definitely underrated, in my opinion, which is sad. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Even though you were only talking about guest features, one of my favorite artist collaborations in the last decade has been Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa. Don't Explain is one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. Even though it's a cover album, the songs they chose and the arrangements the made are top notch. It's been almost 10 years, and I'm still convinced they could've scored a top 10 country hit with their version of _I'd Rather Go Blind._ it's so good.

Love most of the list. One I kept thinking would show up was Don’t Fight it from Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry.

Somebody mentioned Broken by Seether and Amy Lee and it is exceptional and better than the original version. A Tout Le Monde with Cristina Scabbia joining Megadeth is also better than the original. It made me learn to aporeciate that song.

This list is awesome!! I love that Stonesour and Shinedown appeared. Shinedown especially, they have almost zero following down here in Australia. Speaking of Stonesour and collabs though, might be worth looking into My Underworld by Tonight Alive. Corey Taylor features on the song and it's really great.
@maximumghoul3245 жыл бұрын
Only remote disappointment I got was realising that one of my favourite collabs won't appear on the list because Apocalyptica already featured. Mind you that being said Not Strong Enough is damn incredible, my inner emo just really loves I Don't Care, which was Apocalyptica and Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace, for those that didn't know.

Alright, time for me to comment while watching this video. #10 - I was so sheltered growing up that I only knew Lita Ford from the Halftime performances on Rollergames. #9 - I guess when this came out it turned me off, but looking back, I'll have to give it another chance. #8 - I'm aware of Apocalyptica, but was unaware of this collaboration. #7 - I've never been that much of a Stone Sour fan, but after discovering Lizzy Hale, I have been warming to her. I'll give this song a listen. #6 - Clapton and Harrison, oh yeah, two greats that sound great together. #5 - Oh wow, Anthrax & Public Enemy. I jammed out to this SO MANY times in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2. I'd heard it before, but had been unable to find it. #4 - I like hearing you gush on this Luke, but from what I hear behind you... I don't think it's my jam. #3 - Huh, I did not realize Feel Good Inc. was a collaboration. I have learned something. #2 - Yay! Walk This Way! Awesome collaboration. #1 - If this wasn't on the list, there would have been riots from some, I bet. Too bad they couldn't work together all that well. I remember hearing this was supposed to be a whole album collaboration, not just one song. As for my favorite collaboration not on this list? Probably that would be Within Temptation & Xzibit's "And We Run" , because you already mentioned my favorite collaborations.
