One episode that sticks to me is the one where a kid accuses a music teacher I think of molesting him, and it turned out the boy’s older sister coached him to say that to get back at the teacher. It turned out he also taught her music class and gave a part she really wanted to someone else. Or said she wasn’t that good. Either way, I was shocked that she lied and in myself because like the main cast I assumed he was guilty and in the end he was innocent. When Olivia went to apologize to him when the truth was revealed, I don’t blame the guy for not accepting. Even though he was innocent, the accusation will follow him and potentially ruin his career. I don’t know how often false accusations happen, but this reminds me that it can happen.

@natgonzza4 жыл бұрын
I really dislike Stabler. Every time I watch old episodes the hate grows. I remembered he had no emotional intelligence but now I see he was very abusive and his relationship with Liv was super toxic. Bad cop, bad husband, horrible friend. At least he seemed like a good dad. Every time something went wrong he blamed Olivia immediately. The show definitely got better when he left. Liv as a main character works better than being sidekick. But maybe the writing got better because Neal Bear got involved. He made the show more realistic. They even stopped using ridiculous unexisting tech. Seeing how her relationship with Amaro was, and, especially how she connected with Barba makes me dislike Stabler even more. Barba's goodbye was perfect and he's still in touch. He's the opposite of Stabler. His departure was sweet and kind. That episode should have made the list because it is so sad. I know Stabler never said goodbye because Meloni left the show but narratively fits really well with the character. Obviously, narratively I want to see him back. It's going to be weird. Very weird. It's a good character and a good actor. Otherwise, I wouldn't dislike him so much.

From the moment I read the title, I knew 911 was going to be first. Considering the show has been on since 1999, it is extremely hard to choose only 10, or even 20 best episodes. 911 is one of the few which I have watched, and the scene where they dig to get the girl out still haunts me to this day. An episode which I found truly shocking is the one where a child prodigy is found dead and it turns out that her best friend killed her (cause of toxic jealousy) who was unable to control her rage due to taking pills for studying. I used to watch Law and Order SVU when I was in elementary school through the beginning of middle school because it was the only thing on when I came home from school. While it tackled adult topics, I learned a lot from it and picked up on some of the lessons they were trying to teach. The one episode that stuck in my mind was 911. It was one of the few I could recall whenever I thought about the show. I stopped watching the show by the time I was a teenager since I started getting busier with school and because I acknowledge that some of the topics started getting a bit too much for me to handle. Many years later, I decided to rewatch it having matured more and the one episode I remembered the most was still 911. Goes to show how impactful that episode was.
I like this list, except Authority is my #1, and Scheherazade needed to make the list too.

Fin & Munch are hilarious together "Now you're a pain in your own ass!" "You're just mad cuz you can't hit a kid" - "Who says I can't?" and I love Goren & Eames too.. "Wait for the bomb squad.. you keep doing that I'm gonna drop this kid right here!" and when she came back, same thing except she says "It's good to be back!" LOL but yes, Benson & Stabler forever! :)

So... I have seen EVERY episode of SVU. I am a huge fan. So this list, I’m gonna just respect it. There are soooo many episodes to choose from but I knew “911” was gonna be number one. But let me nerd out real quick: it’s easier to say the ones I don’t like than the ones I do. So the ones I don’t like are the ones with Michelle Hurd. Adam Beach and whatever the actress’s real name is that temporarily played Stabler’s partner while Mariska Hargitay was out on medical leave. I didn’t like Dean Winters in the beginning but when they took him off the show and brought him back as a more evolved cop, I love his character. (Please note that I love all these actors/actresses but just not their characters). I tend to gravitate more toward episodes that include Chris Meloni, Hargitay and Ice T. And my favorite episode is the one where there were twin siblings and one was ‘’made” to be a girl when he had a bad accident and his genitals were damaged. And the parents decided to make the boy grow up as a girl. It was such a good, interesting episode.

Great list! “Venom”, “Nocturne” and “911” are some of my absolute favorites! Part 2 should include “Screwed”( the EXCELLENT sequel to the “Venom” episode), “Abomination”, “Alternate” (Cynthia Nixon was MESMERIZING in that episode), and the episode where Ellen Burstyn wonderfully portrays Elliot’s mother (who suffers from mental health issues)

I would love to see a second version because there is so much more. I will say I was hoping number one would make the list. It has been my favorite one since the first time I saw it. I love the connection Olivia makes with her and just seeing her struggle and break down hits you hard. I want to see an episode in the newer season where they bring her back somehow.

The episode Venom with Ludacris was SUCH a good episode. I was blown away by Luda’s performance.
@do91382 жыл бұрын
I agree. The follow-up epi with the trial -- "Screwed" -- was even better. Luda was so compelling in that one. Darius is obviously a brilliant young man. He acted in his own defense which few can do well. Yes, he is bitter through most of the epi. But when he learns about his paternity, so many emotions pass through his face so quickly.

I have been bingewatching this series during the quarantine starting from Season 2 and so far on Season 8. Its fun! The #1 slot hands down a fan favorite. Its intense, its complete unconventional in how its storyline and writing is from the main episodical formula and my goodness, a much deserved win for Mariska realistic intense nail biting performance.

The woman is eventually killed by her husband because she refuses to report it but then you find out that the little old lady (who has no passport, phone, TV licence, house in her husband's name) killed her husband when she was younger and fleed the state because she was also abused and that's how she knew what was happening to the other woman 😭 xxx

This is the thing that I absolutely love about law & order SVU because it shows you how all the different scenarios can go. They tell you when your abused go to the police report it, they cover those stories and how sometimes yeah you get justice but a lot of the time there’s not enough evidence. You report a rape it sits in a storage locker for 10 years and then the statue of limitation runs out or the evidence isnt sufficient enough anymore. Or how people have the ability to manipulate so well that you didn’t even know they were the bad guy. I don’t think the show would have done as well as it has Marissa wasnt Olivia benson.

One episode that disturbs me even to this day is "Burn". The story revolved around a vicious divorce/ custody battle in which the ex-wife claims her ex-husband raped her. The ex-husband did not rape her, but this accusation, plus having visitation rights with his daughter taken away pushed him over the edge. He stalked his ex-wife down on the street, doused her in gasoline, lit her on FIRE, and "kidnapped" his daughter. This led to a standoff in which the ex-husband came at a cop with a knife and was killed in self defense, traumatizing the daughter. Near the end of the episode, the ex-wife, covered in 3rd degree burns, is about to go into a procedure where the doctors will have to spray freezing cold water on her and peal her burnt skin off, causing her excruciating agony that would most likely lead to her going into shock and dying on the operating table. Benson and Stabler, knowing deep down that she wouldn't make it, visit her before the procedure and ask once last time if the allegation of rape against her ex was true. Even after everything that happened, the ex-wife loathing for her ex-husband won't let her tell the truth and she sticks to her false claim. The episode ends with her screams of pain echoing throughout the hospital as the procedure begins. It is later revealed that her body just couldn't take the shock and she died on the operating table, leaving her daughter an orphan...

I cried at the end of “Charisma” when the Cult leader tells the girl that you must kill the liars pointing at Olivia. When pressed by Olivia the cult leader proclaims he is stronger than God. You hear a gunshot ring out and it’s the girl holding the gun having shot the leader. When being comforted by Olivia, the girl states “that was a lie” with tears in her eyes. When Olivia questions her, she says “he said he was greater than God…no one is..” and the episode fades to black. I just melted to pieces.
