I wouldn't be surprised to find out years later that there was a bunch of dissension amongst the creatives behind the movie. Its commentary is anemic and splintered, and it really seems like there was a difference in what people wanted this movie to be behind the scenes.
@Betared20033 ай бұрын
@@ArynWellspring It didn't have anything profound to say, and frankly it stole quite a bit from Oliver Stone's Salvador. But it still had the POC in the refugee camp wthile the whites were in suburbia. The violence was done by white men while you had an extremely unrealistic scene with an elderly black actor. And all the throwaway lines where the PC fear stuff. Garland didn't really come up with anything original.

Here are my Favorite Movies of this year 2024 So Far: 10. Challengers. I love Zendaya and this movie was goated I love her performance 9. Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Will Smith literally revived his career with this film and has all the action needed for an action movie 8. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth literally CARRIED this film and this was my Top Tier Experience 7. Civil War. This film has a lot of groundwork like Apocalypse Now and Platoon and this is the best War Movie I ever watched 6. The Bikeriders. There are 2 things I knew about this film: Austin Butler’s Performance and a TON of Action 5. The Fall Guy. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are 2 things about this film and I LOVE The Stunts and Action in this movie 4. Inside Out 2. Pixar literally learned from their mistakes from Lightyear and Elemental and this film was a Masterpiece 🥉. Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes. This film’s Quality is similar to Avatar than The Cinematic Travesty that was Gigli and The Apes are so gorgeous. 🥈. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire. King Kong and Godzilla literally bring all the elements of Cinematic Entertainment and I loved it. 🥇. Dune Part 2. This film was so GREAT it has gotten me hating Madame Web EVEN more

wait, ¨the dobbed version is always shitty¨ is not a common knowledge???? who in their right mind would ever recommend anything but the original voice of any movie????
@DanMurrellMovies3 ай бұрын
There are some anime movies, particularly Studio Ghibli movies, that have solid English dubs that I think are equivalent. Dubbing has improved a lot in recent years, in my opinion, although the Japanese language version is always worth watching.
@raulhou17393 ай бұрын
@@DanMurrellMovies maybe I should also elaborate on it a bit since you mentioned studio ghibli movies. Dubbed versions also introduce more problems not only to the differential emotions and tones that a particular language that the movies is made in (you could say this is up for debates as well), but sometimes they even introduced changes to the movies that are harmful, for example as far as I know, at least some American dubbed version of spirited away had some extra lines at the end of the movie that did not exist in the original version.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Furiosa. I knew it would probably be good, but I didn't expect it to be so great. I don't think it's fair to compare Furiosa to Fury Road since it's such a different film. It's a slower, more somber and contemplative movie. There are so many great details that are easy to miss with just one viewing. And Furiosa does so much more to flesh out the wasteland. It develops the politics, economy, logistics, culture, and power dynamics of the wasteland. I am just really impressed at how much thought George Miller has put into every aspect of this world. This is the kind of world building that I wish every sci-fi/fantasy/comic book franchise had. Disney/WB/Paramount/Universal/etc. all need someone like George Miller as the main creative director behind their franchises.
