I loved how they included Christina Ricci in it. She was the iconic Wednesday Addams of the 90’s.
@tomnorton42773 ай бұрын
It was nice that Christina Ricci got to be part of it. Originally, they were going to use Thora Birch, who would have been a good choice too, but I think having Ricci really conveys that they were taking this seriously. She built her entire career on the foundation of playing Wednesday as a child. If she wasn't happy with this series, I think she would have quit. Plus, Jenna Ortega has shown massive respect for Ricci as an actress as well as The Addams Family franchise as a whole.

There was a scene where he was under water in a bath tub and idk, it was shown for a reason I said to myself. That’s when I had my suspicions that Xavier being the Hyde is a big red herring.

I expected Tyler to be the Hyde since the 4th episode. Everytime Wednesday has a vision, it happens when she touches something or someone related to that vision. In the red paint sprinklers scene, she has the vision of Eugene getting attacked... but what triggered the vision was her getting bumped into Tyler during the chaos of all students.

I personally thought Pick 1 should've been where Wednesday saves Xavier. This moment shows more than people know. Before that, Xavier had blamed Wednesday for being selfish and hurting everybody around her. This was at the time that he was wrongly accused of being the Hyde which was the suspicion led by Wednesday. Also, from the past movies and shows about the Addams Family, Wednesday is shown as a solemn person that doesn't care about anyone or anything. This scene is redemption for that, along with the piranha scene where she risked getting in trouble for revenge of her brother being bullied. 9:00

Jenna Ortego is an absolute marvel of drive to achieve acting perfection in learning fencing, the cello and choreographing her dance. She is also amazing in her ability to use micro facial movements to convey emotion without ever really giving it away with a smile or a frown. She is the best thing about this series, and I look forward to watching her future career. Hopefully she will get roles that make full use of her incredible abilities like this series has.
@tomnorton42773 ай бұрын
Jenna Ortega's probably the most talented living actress under the age of 30. I can't think of anybody else below that age who understands, and more importantly executes, less is more so perfectly. There are actresses older than 30 who can do it perfectly, and I've seen at least one pull it off before she reached that age. Jenna Coleman combined emotional moments and subtle moments seamlessly throughout her time on Doctor Who, which is why Clara Oswald felt like a real person. However, good luck finding any actresses, apart from Ortega, who are that gifted under the age of 30 in the past 8 years. Plus, on the few occasions where Wednesday shows emotion openly, Jenna Ortega pulls it off flawlessly. Some people understand and execute less is more perfectly but commit to it too often (Russell Crowe). Some rely on perfectly executed but very obvious displays of emotion (David Tennant). And some rely on hamming it up (Nicholas Cage). Jenna can do all 3. If she needs to be subtle, she nails it. If she needs to be emotional, she also nails it. And if she needs to ham it up, she nails that too. That's an extraordinary amount of range, especially for somebody so young. The dance scene actually showed a blend of all 3 whilst still staying in character. That might be part of the reason why it's already become iconic. The dance moves themselves are incredibly over-the-top (Jenna's openly admitted that she's not a dancer), whilst also expressing Wednesday's teenage attempts to get a boy's attention, and Jenna never makes it too obvious that she's both nervous and enjoying herself. If she did it as herself, she'd probably be smiling and laughing about the insanity if the moment. But she's doing it as Wednesday and although her eyes widen a fair bit, she never smiles despite how crazy the dance was. Considering Jenna's own awareness of how over-the-top the scene was, it must have been hard to stay in character, keep her expressions under control, and do the dance all at the same time. Furthermore, you can tell that Jenna is genuinely passionate about acting just for the sake of acting. Most people in Hollywood are activists, narcissists, greedy about money and/or power, or any combination of all of them. Jenna's genuinely passionate about the craft itself for no other reason than loving it.
