Per capita GDP is a measure of the total output of a country that takes the gross domestic product (GDP) and divides it by the number of people in that country. The Per capita GDP is especially useful when comparing one country to another, because it shows the relative performance of the countries. A rise in Per capita GDP signals growth in the economy and tends to reflect an increase in productivity.

In the previous GDP video,Indians were bashing about the 'being next superpower' statements while not even being able to make into even top 100 list of GDP per-capita. @@John-fk5qq Maybe being part of the EU or the European free trade area has something to do with it, if tax havens worked, there should be a few Caribbean islands taking a spot in the top 10, including maybe the Isle of Man and the channel islands, or maybe Iceland and Ireland know something the others do not. Either way, for a country like Ireland, who 30 years ago said, thank god for Albania, otherwise, Ireland would be at the bottom of every European ranking, and now ranked as the fifth richest country in the world per population is some achievement.

Each country can set its own tax regulations to benefit it's citizens, tax Haven seems to be used as an excuse by some to theorize why a country like Ireland is the fifth richest country in the world. 12 per cent tax rate had alot to do with Ireland's ranking, so long as all companies pay the full amount.

Notice how countries like Lichtenstein, Monaco, Switzerland, etc which do a lot of dealings in the financial market rather then producing goods , along with a few of the oil rich countries float around the top. And in particular notice how the financially focused ones will suddenly drop off the map and another financially focused on move up. Have to wonder if that's a reflection of the super rich moving their money around as much as anything directly having to do with the specific country. Why would there suddenly be such huge shifts in money that a country, Monaco, would go all the way from the top to disappearing below the bottom?
