I feel like Ovechkin and Nash’s deserved to be 1 and 2. I know Lemeiux’s goal was good but not at the same level as either of those other two dekes in term of actual skill needed to pull of those moves. Also Bobby Ryan’s was filthy too. Those three would be my top 3

Ovi goal is just terrible Goaltending, I have NO CLUE where whoever that Goalie was was going, should have just followed the play instead of making some ridiculous dive. Highly overrated (still impressive), many other dekes here were better though. Nash's is hands down #1 because of how smooth that puck control is, like it was glued onto his stick. I would put Savard as #2 and Datsyuk at #3 because they went though 3+ defenders and had puck possession almost end to end.

@@Xerxsion yeah ovi was impressive because he was sliding on his back and somehow aimed the shot, but like you said it wasn't a hard shot and the once he fell the goalie just stopped looking at the puck it was an easy stop.

I absolutely love Lemieux's goal, and he just happens to be my favorite player of all time. That being said I can't really say that goal was the nicest deke in this list. Jagr's from the series against Chicago in the next cup final in my opinion is better. Even on this list I believe there were better. Nash's goal especially.

Lemieux goals was truly amazing. The 6 second clip does not capture the awe of it. This goal came in the Stanley cup final. Lemieux had not won a cup yet. The Stars were battling hard to win it and then came this goal. When he scored this goal you knew Mario would not be denied. Anyways, I remember watching it Live and reacting that was the best goal I ever saw. The best player I saw play (ok. Well one of the best)

Ovechkins goal was definitely the best one on this and should’ve been no. 1 imo. The composure he kept to pull that off and the fact that he pulled it off all in one fluid motion just made it so perfect, he made is look easy.

Ovechkin scored an incredible goal, but the deke/dangle aspect of it wasn't impressive... he actually lost the puck and got lucky that it hit the defender's skate and came back to him

The Ovechkin goal was sick, but the deke was subpar, he fell down and the puck hit off the defenders skate. Very lucky, as opposed to the spin-o-rama deke off the boards to himself years ago, or any of his between the legs dekes, much more skill involved. Also, the Datsyuk deke against SJ where two Sharks players collided would’ve been nice to see on this list. I feel like all of these resulting in goals is a little bias, there are plenty of nice dekes/dangles where the player doesn’t score.

Does no one else see how badly Lemieux dekes out Casey? He opens his blade to fake a forehand shot and takes it away as soon as Casey bites on it. If he just shoots this probably isn't a goal. If he just goes straight to the backhand the goalie stands a chance of tracking the shot and stopping it. The impressive thing here is how fast his mind works to figure out the best chance to score. It's incredible spacial awareness and timing. Truly special. And it's during a high stakes game in the cup finals. I can't believe I had to comment on here to defend this goal for being number one.
