Too bad the F-Type is horribly unreliable as far as electronics go. My dad had to sell his in just 3 years because the eco-mode (turns off the car at a stop) just DIDN’T work. Customer service also called my mom crazy when we brought it in the second time that week for the same issue. I loved that car when we had it though…

@@ForzaMonkey Your particular example was not the norm, I don't think. My 2018 F-Type SVR Convertible is quite possibly the most reliable car I've ever owned in 40 years of driving. Mind you, the SVR models are closer to hand-built than production. They also are very underrated in HP figures: Mine dynos at 602 hp.

I was stationed in W. Germany from 1970 to 1974. I remember reading a car magazine about a testing of a Jag sedan. The writer writing, in back seat , doing 100 mph on a highway in Spain. He wrote of how smooth and solid, silent ride. I always liked that story about a great car company.

Yes its engine was from C6 GS LS2 V8 engine with huge modifications and improvements 180 degrees change so it is basically a better version of corvette but European 😂😂😂 so don’t dream so much please and be more reasonable , JAGUAR , pagani and keonessegg take their engines and their projects from CORVETTE and FORD heavily modify them so don’t be a fool

I have a XKR that has the 5.0 coyote in it. Yes it’s same engine with even More variable time Cams early on. The reliability in the Ford days were fantastic … you can take it a Ford dealer for under hood and electronics and to a Mercedes Dealer for Suspension and Transmission issues. That a great Combo!!

That's a Jaguar engine, not a Ford Coyote engine. Do some homework.

@@reaxions I got curious and checked it out myself. You are correct. While having “some” similarities, they are two different motors. From what I read jag designed the AJ motors before the ford acquisition. It is possible to find castings that say FoMoCo but that’s pretty much where it stops. One read even shows the exhaust manifold ports are different shapes. Round on the coyote and oval on the jag. Another writer says good luck trying to interchange parts from either motor.

My daily driver for the last 10 years is a 2010 5.0l XKR. Without any doubt, it is the finest automobile I have ever owned in 55 years of driving that llhas included a lot of fine cars. I have 200,000 miles on her and it remains so reliable and such a pleasure to drive.

You didn't cover the XJR-15 LM that TWR made for a Yakuza(Japanese mafia) customer. TWR made 5 of them in 1991. This was a track only car. It was fitted with a 7.4ltr V12 naturally aspirated producing just north of 740hp(this engine was from the LeMans track car). The engine is mileage limited so in essence once the engine reaches a certain mileage it must be torn down. Btw, that's way way more horsepower than Gordan Murray's Mclaren F1 with the BMW M power V12.

Where does this negativity come from? If you talk to serious mechanics on both sides of the pond, you will hear that German cars have serious reliability problems. This is NEVER discussed in public. I've had nine Jaaags and one had head gasket problems. The others have been perfect.
