@jeffffro76744 жыл бұрын
I would wholeheartedly agree with that comment! Not so much with Charles performance of Coffee shop though.....he got about 80% of it right, most of the notes were right on but his strikes were off enough to make it sound very different! I usually love his vids but having become a bassist because Flea inspired me to pick one up almost 30 years ago, I've learned virtually EVERYTHING he's done and I'm kind of a stickler when it comes to Flea!!!! If you're gonna play his s**t, I like to do it EXACTLY the way he did cause its perfect!!!!! Slap on now!

Hey, I know this is a late reply... but I've been through the same. I *used* to be a Davie504 fan, and he inspired me to start playing bass. I already knew 3 years of guitar, so it gave me a good start, but I did chords and I used a pic, which is the opposite of what I do today. 2 months in bass and I could play Can't Stop and Dark Necessities. A couple months later, I tried learning a bass line that was super hard for me at the time, Hysteria by Muse. I learned the song in 3 hours, and that is when I realized practice makes perfect. Today, 1 and a half years later, I can play almost all the FLEA solos and I'm already started on Primus, Larry Graham and Marcus Miller. I also suggest joining a bass community, it helped me a LOT. I also recommend Scott Devine from SBL on youtube, he's an amazing teacher and bass player. I hope I helped a little. If you need a buddy to jam with, contact me. (I have no bass buddies lol)

This review (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXbCaX9qiMZrl5I) seems to like it, he goes over details like fretwork, neck finish, weighting (not neck heavy) tuners etc, and other reviews seem to conclude that it is built better than more "expensive" basses. Other reviews seem to conclude with the same, so if the factory don't start messing with production it seems like a solid buy. It needed minimal setup from the factory, with action and intonation set pretty well from the start. Since I can't find a distributor in Norway, I'd love some feedback from anyone who's tried a Harley Benton HBZ-2004, Chateau PJ01 or Gear4Music Chicago as I'm looking for a cheapo thing to complement the cheapish Tanglewood acoustic I've got.
