I just got a TV with a built in Roku last Sunday. First TV I've had since about 1971 or 1972. Seriously I got rid of my TV after the local cable TV provider raised their rates from 10.95 a month to 12.95. I retired about 8 months ago and for the last couple of years I thought I might get a TV and antenna. In the last year I have been watching movies from Tubi on my computor and then start watching the Roku app on my computer a couple of months back and of course KZbin. After watching Prepper Princess's channel on you tube where she talked about Roku I got a 24" TV with a built in Roku. I still had a couple of questions but you answered them in this video. Thank you for the upload.

I did not know they had a selection of Australian shows. I love watching them. I have also discovered that the movies and shows from Spain and the Norwegian series are excellent. Havent looked for them on tubi yet. I recommend putting your subtitles on when watching foreign movies, etc, as it makes it much easier to understand. And make sure you put the programs on English. They are dubbed, but you get used to not watching their mouths. A lot of intelligent and interesting things come from other countries.

Well.. i discovered i can put the Roku remote on my phone, and through that I can use my wireless earphones. No more batteries! I just use 1 ear bud at a time so i can still hear the family if they need me, and I continuously keep the other one charging. When 1 is run down, I just switch with the charged one. It is great. I can fetch some ice cream from the kitchen without missing anything.

I have Pluto and the only thing it's good at is the live streaming feature, however we really only use it for Star Trek channel. The problem with their on demand is that they dump commercials where-ever... right in the middle of dialogue. And they run more commercials than other free channels. Xumo is okay, but again we mostly use it for the live streaming function. Roku, Tubi and Shout TV are our most watched 'on-demand' channels.

Locast should be mentioned here. It operates like PBS use to (they are nonprofit & need donations from viewers), they stream the free locals in your area that you either need a antenna or cable to get. For $5 a month you get the straight stream & help them expand to cover more broadcast towers in various markets. Local channels on the go, 1 year is $100 I think, but I'll definitely pay to insure the older members in my family get access to it.

I just love tubi. I have been watching black and white movies from the 30s 40s and 50s, war movies, and extremely interesting documentaries, for weeks and weeks straight now. The commercials are very minimal. 1 at the beginning, and there may be 1 set of 4 to 6 commercials, but they dont take long. And then maybe another break of 1 or 2. Depending on how long your show or movie is. I have a queue, and they now allow you to rate what you watched. They also have the suggestions for similiar programs or movies, based on what you watched, if you scroll down from your current program. It is really an awesome channel.

As Gen Xer's, jumping in and cutting the cord is a slow process, LOL. We got rid of our boxes, and changed our bundle, but kept our cable subscription to use with their app. That is saving us $20 a month. Trying to decide if we will keep it, or go with a "live" app. But with all the free content available, who knows what we will do. We have some favorite programs we watch, that are only on "live" TV. Thanks for showing us some other free content that is out there. We could never watch all the choices that are available.

I would like to be led to content I am already paying for rather than every Roku commercial I get be from something I don't have. As in I have Hulu Netflix paramount prime and peacock but I'm constantly getting commercials for Disney apple and HBO. If I gotta see a commercial at least let it lead me to something I already can access.

Since it uses music by the original artist from various decades, it's expensive to get for syndication or streaming. So, it is an incredibly rare show to find. Thanks for the heads up on some of the ones I wasn't aware of.
