One thing: The first bag of burgers you held up are cooked. The second are raw, correct? Something we don't think about a lot is the fact that we don't have to eat them as burgers, whether they're cooked or not. I get two pounds of raw frozen Angus patties (1/3 lb. each) at Aldi, and I can use three to make ground beef for meat sauce or taco meat or use them as pre-made burgers. Even if the burgers are cooked, you can crumble them to put on top of pizza or to put in meat sauce or a recipe.

The 2nd burgers of Kirkland 100% Grass Feed beef patties (15 in a pack). Yes, they are raw. As you say, you don’t always have to only have patties. Sometimes I will take a patty & thaw in fridge overnight. Then cut into 1-2” squares to cook up, set aside, cook some eggs in the beef fat, then stir fry veggies & add back in the beef squares to absorb whatever seasoning I’m cooking the veggies in.

Costco sells a 6 lb. bag of Italian meatballs. They're super low-carb and clean. I throw some in the microwave for about a minute and a half and sometimes eat them plain or with melted cheese. I've also put them in a low-carb hotdog bun with cheese for a sub or in a tortilla with cheese for a meatball wrap. Of course you can put them in sauce, but also try thawing them a bit in the microwave and crumbling them on pizza. Delish.

The seabass is worth it. I always buy 2 bags because it is easy to thaw a piece or two for a quick meal. I also buy the big fresh salmon and like you cut and freeze most of it. I buy the frozen as well but I think the fresh tastes better even after freezing. I know this was a frozen foods video but their Wild Planet albacore tuna is great too. Thanks for your tips!

Love Costco! I had to go low carb due to being told I was ONE point away from being diabetic. (I was considered pre-diabetic) I had gestational diabetes during all 4 of my pregnancies and I knew I did NOT want to be dealing with that again! I gained about 40 pounds during the pandemic and this was a kick in the butt to lose the weight. I’ve lost the 40 pounds and I am no longer pre-diabetic. Yeah! 👏🏼👏🏼 I love watching videos of low carb recommendations as there is always something I haven’t tried. BTW, I don’t do the “NET” carb thing, I count “ALL” carbs like I had to do during my pregnancies.

I've only tracked calories to lose weight in the past but now I'm tracking protein in addition to calories. I've never been overweight but I'm just trying to stop myself from becoming heavier as I get older. It's so exhausting! I feel like I'm going to have to track for the rest of my life. I admire people who have been able to lose 100+ bc even at my lower weight it's so hard to not give in to indulgences. I'm not low carb but your ideas still help me because a lot of your suggestions are also low calorie ❤
@michelleelle46227 ай бұрын
For me, it’s been much easier to count carbs than calories. I’d recommend trying that for a little bit. After a while, you get to know what foods you can and cannot eat. Much easier IMO. Just stay away from anything white; sugar, flour, etc. that’s the easiest way to start. (I think)
@amna60247 ай бұрын
@@michelleelle4622 I've tried to do that too and it does make you stay in a deficit more easily. Thanks! I def could never go fully low carb but have started to stay way from them when it's easier (ie avoiding added sugars especially in drinks). Also started opting for protien based options over ones with higher carbs, like veggies as a side instead of rice, but cant let go of them completely lol I love bread too much! 🤣

During the pandemic I was in leggings and t-shirts (I do artwork) and never stepped on the scale. Now I will wear non stretch pants (unless doing art) and stand on scale once a week. Thanks -- this was a great video, I did see some things I will look for next time such as the portioned frozen fruit. I am also a big fan of the Milton's cauliflower pizza. Some of the things, though, come with too much food for me as a single person. Even though they are frozen, vegies tend to get icy and dry in my freezer if I keep them more than a few weeks and my freezer isn't that big either. Do you have a deep freeze or a large freezer to handle these large amounts?

I just placed a grocery order, and about went blind reading labels.🙄 I don't have issues with gluten, but I eat mostly GF except for bread. I cannot find a decent GF bread that tastes good and is not so small. What does agree with me is the Dave's Killer bread because it is sprouted. I only eat it a couple of times a week. Do you have any suggestions for a decent GF bread? I LOVE the GF frozen waffles from Trader Joe's!! I will treat myself on the weekends, adding some nuts and a very small amount of syrup (I mead like a tablespoon or less drizzled over them!)
