I got a good idea for a top-10 list! It's a bit of a tricky one. Here goes: Top ten features in video games that are very realistic and completely unrealistic at the same time. I don't have a full 10 for you, but here's two I can think of to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. 1. In Skyrim, you can put a bucket upside-down over a shopkeeper's head and then steal all of the stuff from his shop. This makes sence because he can't see anything around him with a bucket over his head ( = realistic) but why on earth does he not respond to his customer putting a bucket over his head?! ( = not realistic) 2. In Battlefield 1, lying on flat on top of a live grenade increases your chances of surviving the explosion. Not quite certain how that works, but my guess is that the area of your body exposed to the grenade is smaller, therefore, a smaller portion of your body gets hit by shrapnel ( = realistic?) but of course, lying face-down on top of a grenade would in reality result in nothing less than your body being blown completely into bits ( = unrealistic)

Asrlex95 I haven't finished VIII yet (I'm waiting for the 3DS version to come out in English, I just don't have time to play an RPG on a console anymore), but I've never had any problems running DQVIII in PCSX2. In fact, if you turn up internal resolution and turn on anti-aliasing, it looks pretty good. There's a setting in the GSDX that fixes the ugly looking font, if that's your problem.

Erdrick The Hero no, I didn't mean that hahaha. I replayed it on the emulator and it ran perfectly (albeit the occasional shadow bug). It's just that I don't really like the program. I might eventually buy it and play it on my brother's 3DS, it would be great playing DQ on the go. And if you didn't finish it, I encourage to do it, there's quite a lot of epilogue content (it took me around 120 hhours to fully complete it).

Nera is my favorite character in the series next to Jessica, so that's a plus. 6/10 characters on here are great for the most part (Terry, Eight, Yangus, Ashlynn, Bianca and Erdrick). My only issue is....WHERE'S THE IX CHARACTERS? You could've picked the Ninth Hero/Heroine, Greygnarl, Aquila....CORVUS. IX is arguably the best in the series next to VII and VII. Where's Torneko Taloon in this list? He not only is a chosen warrior of light in Dragon Quest IV, but he also is the star of his own set of Mystery Dungeon games, cameoed in countless Dragon Quest main titles and spin-offs. He's a family man who started his own mercantile legacy by beating up slimes to get iron armor, stealing a Goddess statue, starting his own business in a major city and sailing to far off lands with his wife and son to gain more riches once he helped defeat the great evil started by Psaro the Manslayer.

I have only played four games (three main games). 1/4th of Dragon Quest VI, and about 1/5th of Dragon Quest VII. I have beaten Dragon Quest IX, and Dragon Quest Monster Joker II. I'm currently playing through DQVII, and plan on getting DQVIII. I might be a little biased torwards DQIX, but seriously how could the Gran Lizard be a honorable mention, but not Stella, Aquala, or especially Corvus. Corvus is one of my favorite major villains from the series. Ok, I like the Grand Lizard, but no! Corvus, Stella, and Aquala would have fit honorable mentions better. Not to mention Ivor or the ninth hero. I'm not even asking for them to be in the list since I know some of these characters you put deserve the spot, but when you use the Lizard as a honorable mention I just can't resist complaining how there were better characters from DQIX.

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker is my favourite of the Dragon Quest games because this was the very first game I ever played i was 5 years old. My dad was a Dragon Quest fan and he complete the game many times well over 10 and he had powerful Monsters once he completed it he let me have the old saves he had dragon lords, and meany other x ranks he also did the same for me on DQMJ 2 those days we're so much fun I miss them... but now i have one and two for my self so i think its about time i complete them for myself.

Nera isn't a bad character, and I really don't think WM did her justice here by including her solely for a story that happens to any wife you choose (really should have actually talked about her more), but I honestly think the reason some people hate on her is because she's introduced so late and barely interacted with at all before you're given the option to marry her. From a story standpoint, Bianca just makes more sense because you've spent so much of the game traveling with and getting to know her. I think people would have been kinder to her if they had given her a bigger part beforehand.

Last Chance Breaker! I always found Corvus cliché and poorly done. "My lover betrayed me! I've been left to rot away! I have a significant connection to recurring characters! I'm morally complex!" Ugh! Get the fuck out of my otherwise amazing game, and give me a DIFFERENT boss! I LOVE Dragon Quest 9. Make no mistake. It was the first Dragon Quest game I ever played. But Corvus just soured the experience for me. I'd rather take a rehash of the Dread Fiends from Dragon Quest 6. I've always liked Terry as my favorite. Dq6 was my first dq game when I was little. Therefore I was the worst dq player ever. But through out the journey, I was reeeeeally hoping that Terry would become a party member, and was really happy that he did. *Spoilers for DQIV* Kind of surprised that Psaro wasn't in this. I think he's one of the most interesting video game characters, period. Not just Dragon Quest. He has a tragic backstory that actually makes you sympathize with him, and you actually get to see him brought back from the brink madness. If Nera really was the descendant of Dragon Quest 6, then her son would NOT be able to use the Zenithian armor and sword because the Dragon Quest 6 hero is fully human, not half Zenithian like the Dragon Quest 4 hero.

Meena/Nara is my favorite. I understand why she isn't on the list though; she's very low key and is more of a 'push the plot forward' character. Her character is very well rounded with having a good equipment draw (all metal babble gear can be equipped), a mix of healing/support/offensive magic, and well rounded stats (other than hp in the original DW4, but they fixed that in the DS remake). Plus, the farewell/kerplunk spell enables her to give your ENTIRE PARTY a second chance and the cost of her mp and life (back before multiple people could learn this and in the first series that had a party bigger than 4).

Apparantly a random one off monster from Dragon Quest IX deserved to be in the honorable mentions above Kiefer, Maribel, Ruff, Carver, Milly, Ragnar, Torneko, Psaro, Angelo, and a bunch of other characters I'm probably forgetting from the spin-offs but I guarantee they would deserve it more over Grand Lizzier from DQ9.

Bianca at #1 made sense, but hero 8 doesn't deserve a spot because he saves people. If they justified his spot based on what you find out about him in conversations with medea it would've been alright. Additionally, I find it weird that the only character that is fought on a boss on the list is jessica. They could have put Psaro, Aquilla, hell Corvus deserves a spot for sure.

frostedSkies My first was DQIX, but I got DQVI on the DS (I barely played 1/4th of it because I got bored of it). Then on the 3DS I got DQVII and am still playing through it. I'm having a hard time picking between the two. Oh and ... *****SPOILER ALERT***** In DQIX you rebecome a celestian, and Corvus isn't the ending to the game. There are bonus dungeons with new bosses, and a extra saga of story after Corvus.
