This is probably the best “guitar pedals for beginners” video on here. You explained what each pedal does and demonstrated their uses really well without needing to make a 30 minute video that drags on.

Except that he didn't provide examples of the same licks with and without the pedals, so you could hear exactly what each one does to the sound. It doesn't help me figure out what pedal to get next to find the sound I want.
@ToddtheExploder4 жыл бұрын
Nephalem Yes, but he's left out some crucial details, like which pedals enter at which point in the amp/effects loop path. Also, nothing about using an isolated power supply for each pedal, a critical part of any board. Save folks time and money by demonstrating what happens if you fail to provide isolated pedal power and end up with ten pedals worth of hissy, spitty noise.

Plz check out Caline P-1 pwr unit before you spend all that money on that B S . I'm running 13 pedals including 2 18v and 2 daisy chains with no noise. It's under $40 on EBay all day long. If you want to spend $80 to $160 go ahead but I'm very satisfied with this set-up,enough to recommend it to others! Big pwr in 8 outlets and no problems in a yr of use. Remember 13 pedals, actually I have a couple of outs on each end for add-ons. Use 16 pedals but don't include the passive volume pedal. Still have an electric out on that side. Just don't use it YET! Bad thing about G.A.S. Never know, something cool could come along and I'm always ready. I do run 16 pedals on my board at times. Plus a tap tempo also. It a BAD ASS unit trust me

Something I love about this video, other than revisiting it three years later--first time I had only been playing guitar a year--is you're presenting it with just your guitar, an amp, and a good but modest number of affordable pedals, sitting on the sofa. Most of the videos like this, the presenter is surrounded by gear, several super expensive guitars, and they're showing off pedals which are not only expensive but not what you would find in your average shop. It's relatable. Also you're not showing off a bunch of gear that was provided to you by the manufacturers. My comment three years ago, I got an all-in-one thing. Ended up selling that and now I have six pedals which are pretty standard but essential to how and what I play. Thanks for making this video, it helped me a lot early in my guitar playing.

How do you get a grand out of that board? Used I could get that for about $700. C'mon man shop around, dont jump on the first thing you see. I got 16 pedals on my board hook-up and it's only at about $1200. 3 drives 2 delays. Only 3 minis. Only 1 pedal brand new and waited til could use my EBay bucks on that 1. That is a mini Sonic stomp. I also bought my Dime bag wah new but that was in 2003 when that pedal was first released. Now used you can get 1 for under $100 when you shop around and look. Don't rush,it will come to you. I wanted a 10 band E Q w/ silent mod. Waited and looked for about 2 yrs. Found 1 for $90. Now I don't look for that so much. But I never found 1 that cheap again. I got all kinds of those deals on my board. I guess I'm lucky ,but I work HARD for that lucky shit. Just shop around,watch Ebay,Reverb and Craiglist. Whatever it takes,you gotta do the work.

@dreyn77802 жыл бұрын
The most important is the last pedal from the professional SET of pedals. If you mix brands they won't activate the old-fashioned sound. The Dunlop wah is part of a professional SET of pedals and won't activate the old-fashioned sound without the rotovibe pedal at the end. Follow the professional brand and stop listening to looney male gossip.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge about effects and the way how they can interact with each other. I myself got an almost proper board. All what I was needing more was a wah/compressor/and phaser. I think it's now something done. I simply ordered what was missing to my usual musical instruments shop. And the three of them have been selected from a brand which I affectionate a lot. and WRONG. Unfortunately Dunlop is a professional SET of pedals not individual pedals. The crybaby pedal requires further refinement from a Dunlop rotovibe pedal. Guitarist have wasted decades of their lives not realizing this basic information about Dunlop wah pedals. Without the rotovibe pedal the crybaby pedal makes a harsh 2080's style sound and can't activate the old-fashioned sound.

hey when you have time you definitely need to check out this channel here on youtube called “Christ forgiveness ministries” and hear the message they have. sin will drag us all down to eternity in hell fire, and we all sinned, so our only hope is in Gods mercy and grace which is this john 3:16-21: “for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” and romans 10:9-13: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” God bless you friend ✝️👑💟

If you're a beginner you don't need: TUNER, VOLUME PEDAL, COMPRESSOR, 2 OVERDRIVES, TREMOLO AND PHASER...unless your genre or style requires specifically one of those. The best all arounder is: overdrive, distortion, chorus and delay. That's it! Of course if you play ambient you'll need a volume and a big reverb...for funky and fingerstyle a compressor, for rockabilly a reverb and tremolo; Phaser if you play 70's rock or funky (but it can be very versatile), flanger for rock/metal or darkwave.

Next except for modularion pedals like tremolo, the Orange Crush 35RT ,( reverb plus tuner) can do what most pedals do!! Has clean volume control, that can also blend with dirty channel. The dirty channel, ( 1 input, 2 channel,4 anolog pre amps), footswitchable or on amp controls also switch clean/ dirty. Now i find with this amp i dont need any pedals , lije overdrive, distortion, fuzz can get all this from amp even at bedroom levels. Tried few pedals like tube screamer but didnt do much amp ciuldnt do, and as always with Orange amps already have boosted mids and articulation of lows is very good,now I know this os Solid state amp, but blown away with tube sound saturation im getting from this light weight small amp pleanty loud!! Im using this matched with my Vox Cambridge 30 in stereo guitar rig using EBMM pan/vol pedaland with stage seperation up to 50 feet i can get some great syereo effects something i wanted to be able to do since 1970..
