and also if you miss a single crate (some of wish are extremely easy miss during a jump or a bonus stage) you don't get the diamonds and also much like ghost and goblins even those Aku Aku protects you from getting hit twice a third hit and you die and keeping him alive is not easy given the many enemies, traps and pitfalls scattered all over

It's damn near impossible without a guide due to extremely well hidden cages . And you need to find ALL of them to fight the final boss . How I did so as a kid I have no fucking idea .

@Note: Nah man Assassins Creed is nothing like Tenchu (I don't think it even tries to be). In AC stealth isn't required to succeed, its "merely an option" because in AC, if you get caught, you can literally kill 50+ guards all crowded round you and make it look easy. In Tenchu, if you get caught, even by 2-3 guards and you try to switch to "Rambo mode" and fight them, then you will basically die.

Digimon World. The first one. My god. Trying to balance your digimon's life span and planning for when it dies so you can get back to what you were doing before it dies. Speaking of. That moment when they die. When the game freezes for a second, and then it just falls to pieces. Gives me a heart attack. Cause it's the same thing for when it digivolves. So you never know if it's dying or about to grow to a bigger killing machine.

+Bejita666 kinda agree with this. RE1 has very little exploits and the resources are very scarce. MGS offers quite a number of hacks at your disposal. Like farming for Ration Ammos and Grenades. And weapons like the Nikita can make boss battles really easy.

Yes to Alundra! Difficult puzzles and sometimes the platforming is unforgiving. There are a couple very precise jumps that make you seem like it's not the way to go because they seem impossible.

Alejandro Ramirez Never developed, but hold or at least held the latest publishing rights. With their experience and the fact the the series is in limbo at best, I'd think they'd be able to buy it directly or retain the publishing. But, after doing a little research it appears FromSoftware developed the PSP version of the last Tenchu. With their experience, I'm sure they could do an excellent job as well. Probably better considering their track record with the Souls series.

I remember playing Alundra when I was 12 years of age. My single living mother bought me ps1 and I could only choose 1 game cause we were poor back then and I didnt think that I would need a memory card. I played the first 3 hours like 10 times til I got a memory card. Great game with some of the hardest puzzles in gaming history and also an interesting story.

Riddle Syphon Filter 2 was really frustrating. a long ass stealth level in prison and you're not allowed to kill anyone, you can only zap them with stun gun from behind.

Still one of my all time greatest gaming achievements to this day. Beating Alundra when I was a kid, didn't use guides and had no internet back then so it took me months but boy did it feel good to finally beat it. A one point I got stuck and bored for so long trying to figure it out I just started the game again but managed it the second time. Bosses were really fun too. Tomb raider 3 I have yet to manage to beat to this day. (again I don't use guides) the old tomb raiders were very difficult especially 3. 1 wasn't too bad but still hard later on.

Where is Driver 1 or 2 ? Those were the best example of trial & error & repeat-games, where you needed to grind your driving skills to the max in order to succeed in the missions. I've lost count, that how many times I tried to finish the last mission in both of those games, propably 100 times or more.

i remember beating Tenchu: Stealth Assassins when i was 15. probably helped that it was the only game i had at the time, but it was fun to play back then and finding all the secerets kept me entertained enough to keep playing even after i beat it! it is difficult to play yes, but once you get used to the controlls and how your character moves, its pretty fun for an old game!

i m no hard core player and parasite eve is quite easy to do, generally like for resident evil the hard thing is to control the ammo and guns , and pe 2 also is easy but the last boss can be a pain in the back but when you know what to do it s fine, oh brave fencer musashi can be a pain especially at the beginning it s action rpg but the beginning is just crazy, galerians is hard also but then again it s just a question of dealing with the drugs (first junky game lol)

Nah, the controls didn't change at all throughout the original pentalogy. The problem with 3 is that it eschewed the sort of slow, systematic platforming of the two earlier games. That save system was an absolute bitch as well. Funny, since TR2 allowed you to save manually without restrictions ( and was still not an easy game by any means )

that game was intense, and punished you very hard for any mistake, it turns your good digimon into shitmon. Digimon world 2 was fun but more grindy RPG like, No kid can be expected to beat that game as a fllthy casual

Was obsessed with Tenchu when it came out. Grand mastered almost every stage in the game, played it until the disc stopped working. That's one series I'd love to get a reboot.

I remembered playing Tenchu, I played through the game without saving in a memory card so I had to play and finish it in one sitting. Syphon Filter, the first time I shot a lamp bulb in a park and made an area dark to sneak pass enemies. Awesome games!

Tenchu was not that hard unless you tried to achieve highest rank. First Resident Evil was hard.

All 3 of the PS1 Syphon Filter games were like pure gold to me as a kid, but yea, VERY hard (I remember a helicopter boss being literally impossible without cheats, and a boss in a museum who I could only beat by using a glitch LOL). I recently replayed them all (and made sure to actually complete them this time) and they were still pure gold! Multiplayer on those games was IMO some of the best multiplayer available on PS1 too. So many good memories with Gabe Logan & his crew!

I think my dad beat it in a few months. Can't say myself, I never played it, that was one I only watched. MGS would be hard as hell for me though, I haven't played very many stealth games, and I'm much better at action/platformer and strategy over sneaking. XD

I used to play Tenchu : Stealth Assassins with the brightness turned down very low on the TV, so you can see the Ki Meter flashing (or not) with your character in near total darkness - now we have a challenge.

i got tenchu from watching a making of segment on one of the playstation magazine games or whatever they were called. i mastered it in no time and tenchu 2 was a breeze. beat 2 in one day with grandmaster ninja on all levels. took a couple of weeks for the first. after that i had fun with the master cheat lol i still remember it. played the one for ps2 but never beat it. didnt have any time for games anymore unfortunately.

Weird...these are mostly AAA titles. I call lazy research on this one. There were over a thousand games at least. The hardest ones wouldn't have all been blockbuster games. And Tenchu is only hard if you want to get a Grandmaster rating. If you can't be bothered with that, you can just run to the boss and beat him/her on every level. Easy. Alundra...I'll give you that one. Fuck those puzzles.
