Usyk Fury Dubois Zhang Parker Kabayel Bakole Joshua Itauma Inoue Hrgovic Wallin Chisora Wilder Joyce Miller Sanchez Ruiz Clarke Wardley Jalolov Takam Hunter Anderson Ortiz Makhmudov Yoka Gassiev Ajagba Helenius Whyte Pulev Arreola Huni
@Philliben1991Ай бұрын
I've said it before but Usyk has done more in 6 heavyweight fights than everyone else in the division over their whole careers. Kinda sums up the whole division these days.
@fiucik1Ай бұрын
Plus the fact that Usyk, despite being the first undisputed cruiserweight champion in modern 4 belt era, and only second ever after Holyfield, he didn't wipe the floor with the rest of that division. He had some close fights, like against Breidis. Then he moves up and makes relatively easily job of AJ and Dubois, with only Fury giving him a challenging fight.
@andreasl_fr2666Ай бұрын
He also used tube up fights fir what they are actually meant for , to slowly adjust to the weight. Once his body was fully adapted he proceeded to only fight top guys.

Heavyweight boxing is going to be boring after Fury and Usyk retire. Which I see happening within the next 2 years
@niallkennedy23Ай бұрын
Good point Phil, A great number of the top ten heavyweights are big fat boring "athletes" they are almost completely lacking in dynamism and the fights they are involved in end up devoid of excitement. I felt the reason that everyone went bananas for the recent fight at Wembley, apart from the "shock" result (give me strength), is that it was reminiscent of a 90's heavyweight title fight, by which i mean two incredibly tuned up athletes having a proper tear up.
@SmokinjoewhiteАй бұрын
Exactly, and those that think it was not a low blow when there were literally 20 prior, they are morons. Not to mention only one frame matters, the one that shows Usyk was very obviously hit low.

That's a good list, Rummy, and I can't really argue with your positions and reasons. There is a certain "guess work" towards the bottom end, as you say, because they never seem to fight each other, but that's thankfully changing lately. Inactivity doesn't help.. I'm sure even an aged Dillian Whyte could make the lower reaches if he came back, for example.

Fair point. Fury is such a polarising character. I have enjoyed a few of his fights and the circus that comes with him. I also feel quite strongly that he spouts the most horrendous bullshit, which is often contradictory of the bullshit he said yesterday. I also feel that he has done his best to avoid fights with fighters who would have truly tested him, all the while claiming to be an era defining fighter. I suppose boxing is show business not shy business and therefore bombastic larger than life types will always create headlines and interest which is good for the sport (i think). I won't be surprised if he beats Usyk by decision in the rematch, because boxing is bent as fuck.

It's really fascinating to see so many top heavyweights from so many countries and ethnic/racial backgrounds. I think the fall of the Soviet Union and its allies in the early 90s really opened things up in a lot of ways and changed the sport. I never thought I'd see a day when the top 10 heavyweights were a Ukrainian, an Irish Traveler Briton (white), a Briton (black), a Chinese guy, a Kiwi of Samoan extraction, a mixed race Briton (Nigerian and Irish background), a German of Kurdish origin, a Congolese guy, a Croatian, and a Briton born in Zimbabwe. You can't get any more "diverse" than that, and they didn't force anything. It just happened on its own, which is a great thing.

@dansden10Ай бұрын
1-8 is spot on, though I’d argue Chisora should be 9 on the list and this might be a hot take, but I believe Andy Ruiz jr should be 10 due to the fact that he was a former champion and that he is honestly the only other heavyweight that stands out in terms of overall body of work. I’ve never seen Hrgovic as a real force so that’s why I now have him outside the top 10 following the lose to Dubois. But solid list Rummy, can’t wait for your next vid!

You could literally watch the ref waiting for his chance to stop parker’s offense. Ive never seen anything like it. Not even breaking up a clinch, nobody was given a point or warned for clinching but it seemed like any offense from parker was considered an attempt at clinching.
