I remember watching Batman: The Animated Series where in "The Man Who Killed Batman", Harley Quinn disguised as Sid the Squid's attorney told Harvey Bullock that she served him a subpoena once...it was a very small subpoena. I didn't get it as a kid but when I watched it again as an adult, my jaw dropped.

We were all so young and naive. One of the reasons I like revisiting cartoons from when I was a kid is due to these jokes that went over my head when I was younger. Some of my favorites have to come from cartoons, such as Ed, Edd and Eddy or the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy

I'm 62 y.o. don't really get into cartoons of these days. I havent seen any of these. But I kind of remember hearing about the enuendo between "Hawkgirl" and "The Flash" in another video. But even. But the cartoons in my day I know there were naughty enuendos that as a kid i didnt pick up on. I saw a special on "The Bozo Show" or "Bozo Circus" and they did a replay of the naughty little enuendos that as a kid we didn't catch but now as a (somewhat) adult I'd get a good chuckle out of it. Same goes with alot of the other cartoons I used to watch. There was a scene on "Lady andtheTramp" Lady and Tramp were in a park at night and Tramp was laying next to Lady Tramp snuggles closer and gives Lady this look that insinuated he had ❤ on his mind. In other cartoons the enuendoes and insinuations are probably too numerous count. Okay I'm done. Have a great weekend everyone.

I read that the finger Prince was put in as a gag to see if it would pass the censors, and the crew was shocked that it did, that nobody got it. It wasn't until it aired until they figured it out.

well, that's almost true, the joke was just part of the episode, and the creators simply thought the censors back then would remove it, but to their surprise, they somehow either didn't get the joke or completely overlooked it, so it was left intact.

What made ANIMANIACS great was that it worked on at least two levels: one for the kids and one for the adults. ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE was much the same, although you couldn't do in the early 60s what you could in the late 80s.
