For the dolphin thing, for years dolphins have basically been thought of as being wholly good. While his channel goes into all the bad stuff dolphins do. He's basically saying the truth is in between

Spiders of the genus Nephila are actually gentle giants. Despite their large size, they would rather run away from you. They would sooner leave their web and get away as fast as they can. They are also the well known of the web weaving spiders that can catch a large amount of insects in their lifespan and the webs they weave are gold in color. Truly fascinating and misunderstood spiders.

3:55 that fox has rabies, so it's being aggressive so that it can transmit the disease. Rabies is scary stuff and if you catch it you're good as dead if no treated fast

Yeah, first sign of rabies is when a skittish animal suddenly doesn’t get startled by your presence. Like when wild foxes or deers don’t get scared of you.

Yup! You can't treat rabies, your only hope is getting vaccinated before it reaches your brain.

The wilderness' cleanup crew is way WAY bigger than you might think, virtually every carnivore on the planet absolutely would chow down on a half-eaten animal carcass that was left unattended if they came across one. It's way safer and costs way less energy than hunting a prey themselves.

In case no one answered, Steve Irwin had been filming a special called "Ocean's Deadliest", where he goes over numerous deadly sea creatures. He decided to get sone footage for his daughter Bindi's show, and found a bull ray swimming. He was swimming over it, and his shadow spooked it, causing it to lash out with it's tail. The stinger broke off, lodged in his heart. That was bad, but what made it fatal was that he then pulled it out, and bled out quickly. Ocean's Deadliest DID get released eventually, and it's a very good special. The footage filmed after Steve died was put in the middle, Nd his absence was explained as 'setting up crocodile traps at the next site'. So if you didn't know, you would realize this was the special he died filming. Steve's death was filmed, though the footage was given to his family, I think they destroyed it, but I don't know. Hope that helps. Note my details may be off, this all happened a long time ago, and I haven't refreshed my memory Edit: The thing with Irwin's ray is that Bull rays are HUGE, and their stinger is about the size of a human hand. Steve got staked like a vampire. As it turns out, a week or two after Steve, this happened to someone else, who lived, precisely because he left the stinger there

14:20 you can watch his video about dolphins to learn specifically why, but dolphins have a pretty bad reputation, as they do some pretty weird and even creepy stuff. But what he's saying is that they're wild animals and act on instinct, so we shouldn't hold them to human standards just because they're more intelligent than other animals.

17:56 the mirror test is to verify if an animal can identify itself when looking at the mirror. Helps to measure its intelligence and etc xD 22:19 most tarantulas arent a threat to humans, their venom usually are just fatal to small prays. Just like a bee, their venom would just make you feel a bit of pain and itch. And having tarantulas as a pet is a bigger hobby than you might think xD

Just realized I have. really cute squirrel story. I was at the Japanese tea garden in San Francisco and I’m sitting with my tea and you get a little plate with some almond cookies. I see squirrels coming up to the table and taking them after people have left. So since they’re getting close to me, I put a piece of cookie on my palm lean down and just hold out my hand. So the squirrel comes up to me and takes fright off my palm. So I do it a few more times before I see if it’ll leave when it can’t get it right away or keep trying. O I pinch a piece between my fingers and sure enough, the squirrel isn’t scared of humans it seems and takes the time to try to get it unstuck. But then instead of eating them right away, I see it stuff it in its mouth and start running off so I follow it. Watched that little buddy bury cookie pieces for a good while.

I don't know if the guy in the video mentioned it because I skipped the spider part due to arachnophobia. but there is one single species of spider that is vegetarian, Bagheera kiplingi is a jumping spider native that exclusively inhabits a few species of plants all belonging to the mimosoideae clade. their diet consists 90% of nubs that grow on the plants leaves. the other 10% is whatever it can get it's mouth on to survive. ant larvae, flower nectar or even cannibalism.
