how do you purely collect hydrogen when electrolysis of an electrolyte produces 2 gases. How do you separate them

Well it depends, the positive and negative, simply separate the positive and negative and you'll separate the gas, thru electrolysis, if you connect the + and - you get HHO also known as not yet reacted water, if you ignite HHO the gas combines and explodes into a vapour known as 4HO2 or water, like i said before, separate the + and - and you can get oxygen separately from hydrogen and the opposite

I think you could add an hho storage unit. Three containers The outside and inner to hold the water in a ring. Then put the mid sized container in the water between the other two containers. You could add a stop on the gas container which could stop the hho production. This will always have start up and acceleration gas. Just an idea

So to get something straight. The more plates there are the more powerful it is. Or the plates number doesn't matter and what does matter is the energy input from a battery/power source? Do both matter, or am I missing something and completely wrong? What do you think Alex or any one else from the community?

2 main things: square of active zone and current. You can increase active zone increasing quantity of plates or/and square of plates. Quantity and square of plates depends on power source voltage and current. If active zone is small and current is high you will get overheating. Other technical aspects depend on specific model.

@@ALEXLAB So pretty much have a reasonable amount of current going through however many plates I have with the size of plates in consideration. How much current would you recommend each plate can handle per square inch or do I have to become a member and get the pdf to find out?

The good aim is 1kV for 1 square meters of active zone. For example in my laboratory electrolyzer: active zone = 0.15 m2 power = 0.15 kV Thats optimal ratio Less current - less gas. More current - quick overheating. But remember that you cant just take 2 huge plates. The bigger the plates - the quicker gas filling is. Right now I making a video, that describes calculation method for manufactirung electrolyzers.

@@reptiles_inc3220 The gas builds up pressure and then gets released once you either activate the solenoid or if you have a pressure sensor set up it will release once it hits a specific pressure. But in this case it needs to be controlled so there is an activation switch. Otherwise it would just fire on its own.

@@reptiles_inc3220 yeah it's all a matter of using the proper containment structure as you don't want hydroxy gas exploding on you back. Lol. There is a solution though, if you were to design a separation cell that merges the two down the line you can literally have a multifunctional device. One function would supply you fresh clean five9s hydrogen and oxygen, (could be designed to mix the perfect amount or supply it individually) and then by switching the system you could divert the gas to a specific mixture and create your propulsion device or torch. Alex has some of the best ideas regarding hydrogen that I've ever seen. And while yes it is very dangerous and should not be done by just anyone, if you have any type of mechanical skills these systems are very easy to build and operate.
