Great video Travis!! Fortunately, they built a Harbor Freight two towns over from the village where I live a few years ago in an abandoned storefront, it is much closer than the Walmarts that are four towns over or require a trip on the interstate. We had a mini-Wal-Mart one town over which forced all the village stores, including the village IGA market to close, then they closed because our northern county area couldn't support even a mini-Wal-Mart. That left just one grocery to serve our village and four surrounding towns which also lost all their stores so we are forced to drive over to the next county...

On a personal note. I don't buy plastic ammo cans for ammo storage. I buy them for other things. Plastic ammo cans leak more easily than steel cans. There are KZbin videos showing this. Different depths of water caused plastic cans to leak from the water pressure. A full plastic ammo can will bow at the top just from the weight of the ammo when lifting it by the handle. In an emergency, you can toss a steel can without much damage, a plastic can won't take it. Be safe, everyone! Have a great day.

Retired/disabled LEO and are people aware that Harbor Freight has a policy to not allow ANY persons with firearms in their store to shop? Today I went to pick up some things that I called a head for and were waiting for me at the register (thanks Dana) and I usually get a shopping cart and then place my bag which has a firearm and identification and glasses and things in it in the cart. I go in the store and shop, pay and leave. The store had all the shopping carts outside locked up so I went in and asked if i can take a shopping cart from the store to put my bag in it? A women came over and asked what I wanted to do and why etc? I told her and that I am a regular customer. She said hold on then went away coming back shortly saying "no, the manager Dennis said no you can not use a shopping cart and can not bring your bag in the store". I asked for Dennis to come speak with me. He said he was a "US Marine" and has guns also. I said okay what is the problem here? He said he did not know what the store policy is (btw there are no signs indicating the policy, I took photos) but that because "he knows that I have a firearm in my bag that I can not use a cart or bring my bag in. I said that I also have a side arm currently while talking with him and then he looks at me and said "well I can't tell so you could come in but no bag or cart".! I pointed out that there are no signs with such a policy on the door and many people are just walking into the store with bags and even a guy walks his scooter in the door. Dennis said let me go make a call and I will come back and see you. I said okay and in the meantime I will call the Police because I would like to file a complaint and have a record. The police never came after 2 hours and Dennis never came back to talk with me. I think I understand why Harbor Freight does not reveal their policy. Mostly men shop there and the men are usually just regular guys who like tools, cars, guns and such. Posting an anti 2A policy on the door is not going to help them with their sales. It seems like their policy is if they don't know about it and don't tell customers that is good enough. I would bet though if anything ever happened in the store they would be doing quite a dance claiming they have a policy of no firearms. As for Dennis the "US Marine". Sad sell out and no honor claiming he would return to talk. In summary I am not saying people should not shop at Harbor Freight but when I can avoid it I will. China has enough of my money anyway

I Work at a HFTs. 1.) The safes are super shitty. They are more of a over priced security locker. Waste on money. 2.) The $8.99 American flag listed in this video is made in China. And fades really bad. Currently there are American flags made in the USA sold at HFTs. However they are listed at $18.99 3.) HFTs is going away from Chicago electric brand items. 4.) If you buy anything that requires power or just expensive Get the damn warranty. If it breaks. & It most likely will. You'll thank yourself later. 5.) The metal ammo boxes are great. The plastic one although stack better, are much more prone to cracking or even breaking.

I purchased the Apache 4800. It is a great case! I modified the foam by spraying Plasti Dip on it to stiffen it and protect it from falling apart. The are two levels of foam (3 if you include the bottom, protective layer. I created a tray for top layer by cutting a piece of plexiglass to fit the inside perimeter of the case. For handles to make removal easy, I drilled through the plexiglass and attached a simple u-shaped cabinet handle on each side of the tray. The now-rubberized insert fits around the outer part of the tray. I carry an HK VP9 SK and Canik TP9DA on this level, using the inserts that came with the two guns rather than cutting the foam that came with the case. This way, I get a perfect fit for the guns and all the accessories that came with them. On this level, I have the two guns, 7 magazines, 1 additional speed loader, one IWB Kydex holsters, a small multi-tool, safety glasses and 2 boxes of ammo (50 rounds each). Using the handles on my tray, I can easily lift out this level to access the lower level without having to pull out any items in the upper level individually. The case is awesome!

The HFT .50 Cal ammo cans are of course Made In China BUT.... they're MIL-SPEC! I bought one of these cans and swapped the lids with my 45 year old US made Army surplus can and they are an exact match. The USA lid fits the China and the China lid fits the USA. Also, there are no markings on the can indicating the country of origin except on the peel off label. For the money, these brand new cans are as good as the USA versions. After getting kicked around a few times, no one will notice the difference. Sometimes there's a coupon for these at $12.99 in the monthly catalogs. Even at full price, these are a good deal! The plastic cans.... Not as good as the Plano Molding version but now that they're showing up at $4.99 w/coupon, they're worth looking at.

Harbor freights nice when ya have to buy somthing and prob never gonna use it again. Lol. I bought a pair of slip ring pliers to put a sight hood on my 8mm for $4. My uncle offered to loan me one but the drive woulda been double that cost. Lol.

Travis M Personally, I have never had problems with their tools. They sell different grades and while they are nowhere near the quality of Snap On, I have yet to have anything break or fall apart and the majority of my tools are from HF. I'm sure they sell some items that are sub par, though.

travisp11 I didn't mean that negatively, just that sometimes ya gotta buy something you know you'll never use again. And ya mine as well pay as little ass possible

HORRIBLE FREIGHT , it's always a crap shoot but I got to admit I've had pretty good luck with most things I bought there probably 75% good to the other 25% a waste of money. I just really do the reviews and examine real carefully now everything I buy there.

Those bunker hill $5 ammo cans are useless. Water does find a way inside and ruin your ammo. Get .50 cal cans instead.

I think china is a lot responsible for the situation the world is in. Most of the products sold by HF and for that matter Home Depot and Lowe's are made in China. i am trying if possible to boycott China made products. I hope others do the same.
@travisp114 жыл бұрын
We definitely need more products made in the USA, I agree. I wonder if HF seeks out American sourced versions of their tools. Im sure they are out there and could bring them to their stores if they wanted to.

Or in the event of civil unrest and you have time to actually put them on/in. Now, would I do that if somebody was attacking me or charging me in my home? Absolutely not, I would reach for my firearm but if you have time, why not.

Some stuff is ok, lots is throw away after use stuff. Everything is from China a godless communist country. But lots of the more expensive brand name american owned brands are made in China too. Often it is hard to find some things you may want that are not made in China. Usually you get what you pay for.

Those .50cal cans are only $12.74 at Walmart..15.99 is on the higher end honestly for those, they're also available at military surplus stores for $10-$12 bucks normally.

HF has some good sales on them from time to time as well as coupons you can use. True, WM can be cheaper at times.
@morenoerik144 жыл бұрын
I'm staying away from the Walmart ones. I had one from there and one from HF. The Walmart ones are actually like a half inch shorter and for some reason it bothered me especially because when you really pack them with boxes of ammo sometimes the can is just that much too short. So I recently bought three more from HF. :) (use a 20% off coupon!)
