Johnny cash is the god of music. He made rock n roll, pop, country, gospel, rhythm and blues. He wrote wonderful songs. 5000 songs. He is the greatest musican in the music story.

Johnny CashFan He didn’t make them. He rather popularized 2. Rock n roll was mostly popularized by Elvis and JC, Blues by Frank Sinatra, gospel by Aretha Franklin, Country by JC, and somewhat of rhythm.

He didn't write 5000 songs. He wrote and popularized around 1500. Not saying it's not a big number, it is, I'm just saying that he didn't record 5000.

My favorite Johnny Cash song is every single one of you ever written or saying. Anyone who ever performed with Johnny cash said he was something special. And indeed he was. Cash may be gone but he will never be forgotten. Johnny Cash's name will stand the test of time . I discovered Johnny Cash when I was in 4th grade am I a little ears were never the same that's when I knew I was a country music fan the letter on that discovered Willie Waylon and so much more. And I tell you what was new artist coming out like Cody Jinks Luke Combs and Randall King gives me hope the country will make it come back. Country music has always been and always will be America's music.

I love his softer songs. "I still miss someone" is one of his nicest harmonical pieces and it gets me emotional every single time I listen to it. Same goes for "The Devil To Pay" which he recorded with Carl Perkins, it's an amazing yet very unknown song, give it a listen! It's soft and amazing, just like the man in black was himself.

Sam Reese makes a bit more sense then you might think. A lot of cashes songs are closer to southern rock, ballads, or even classic rock than country so it makes sense that when you add in those the one song in that video might be in a different spot on this one.

I was going to make a remark about how the top 3 is something that can be pretty close to universally agreed upon. But then "Hurt" was placed as number 6. Yes, it wasn't written by him but it is an amazing song when sung by him and it seems like it was written by or for him. As much as I love Folsom Prison Blues, I personally wouldn't place it in the top 3 of my favorite Johnny Cash songs, top 5... sure.

The Man Comes Around is on my list. Give a listen if you are not familiar with it. And he wrote this one toward the end of his life. Most songwriters are washed up by the time they are 35 (like Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones).

I grew up listening to Johnny's hit songs like "Ring Of Fire", "I Walk the Line", "Jackson" (w/June Carter) and "Folsom Prison Blues". I especially grew up with "Ring of Fire" and "A Boy Named Sue"! My Dad used to sing to me "Ring of Fire" as a baby when he'd rock me to sleep, because his Deddy sang it to him as a child. But after seeing the Walk the Line movie, I grew to learn of more songs like "Cocaine Blues", "Get Rythem", "Home of the Blues", "Cry, Cry, Cry", "It Ain't Me, Babe" , "Rock 'n Roll Ruby" and "I Got Stripes". I Loved them all and I always have loved Mr.Johnny Cash! God surely broke the mold when He made him. R.I.P Johnny

Dustin Griffis I hear what your saying, but you can’t argue that Johnny cash performed his songs as good as Elvis did. Elvis was the biggest name in music for a reason. I don’t remember Johnny cash being called the king of country
@dustingriffis6774
@dustingriffis6774 4 жыл бұрын
@@funkpotato3742 maby not but even kings tip their crowns to the man in black and Johnny Cash wouldn't except the title King anyways because he believe there was only one true king and that being Jesus. Johnny may have not been the king of country music or rock and roll but he was definitely one of the greatest songwriters in American history. Not taking anything away from Elvis. Elvis work his way to the top and is one of the biggest music legends of all time but Johnny was right there with him in the beginning I'm saying one was bigger than the other is tuff are you meant because of the two most beloved singers of the 50s and 60s and both of their names have stood the test of time. Im just I wouldn't want to be in the argument of which one was better because I like both of there music.
