Isnt it absolutely mindboggling that this list is doable?

Thanks Mike! I'm always looking for your Knizia updates and summaries. I don't see a review of Nyakuza on the Dice Tower channel. Need it.

My number #1 by RK is REBIRTH !!! An absolutely beautiful and elegant game. It’s definitely his most “classy” game. Smooth game flow, and the mechanics are so good that the game arc reaches a crescendo almost mid game - it’s intense for such a simple rule set. Deceptively simple, but deep. It’s like he distilled the best ideas from Babylonia and Through the Desert. Very chess like. True gamers will appreciate Rebirth. It’s my game of the year and a must for any RK collector !

We like Marabunta a lot. It's an impressive take on 2-player area control with that Knizia tile laying feel (even if it doesn't use tiles). The area scoring reminded me of Biblios and the I split you choose draft is neat. Perhaps it could have used a bit more content, maybe one more set of map and ability tiles and more ways to mix and match them for more setup variety. I could also see a bigger box variant of this idea using actual tiles rather than the dry erase board.

I think the title might be incorrect. Isn't this just supposed to be "Top 10 Games of 2024"?

How incredibly giddy was Mike to do this list?

A fine list, but can't believe you left out Through the Desert, which is one of Reiner's very best, when you included other 'reprints' - and the new edition of TtD is so much more than that, with an alternate board and the mini expansions.

If Tom were Santa, Mike would be a reindeer named Reiner. 🥷

A silly but great list! :) Truly amazing >10 games in a year! I have 4 of these (5 if I get Rebirth), which is unusually high for my proportion of Knizia games owned.

I got Witchstone which he co-designed and if that's how the standard of his games are then I don't like it. Or change my mind, I only played it once.

he has team of designers working for him. he mostly just leads the projects
@thedicetowerКүн бұрын
Is there any proof of this? I know that he has standard play testing groups, some of which may include designers such as Sebastian Bleasdale, but I've not heard of a team of designers before.
@fleazappКүн бұрын
@thedicetower yes, he mentioned it in an interview with Ben Madox
@nickmurray5169Күн бұрын
@@fleazappI think you are mistaken. He designs all of his games. He has a team of playtesters who help play the games and offer feedback and sometimes ideas/solutions for design problems, but Reiner is the sole designer.
