I was expecting some suspension upgrade. Before I put new coils on mine the car was leaning badly in corners after 35 years it’s expected ….. even on “Sport”

I think the stock 6v/12v fuel setup is fine. Run lower fuel volume at lower loads and then switch to 12v for power. Helps keep the pump quiet at cruise and fuel temps lower. It's like an early form of PWM fuel pumps.

Do you think performance brake pads and steel braided lines would be adequate for a street car? I ask because I know you will have seen the difference between that and stock brake feel. I just hate to have to ditch my 2 sets of stock wheels and start over. Great video by the way! every mk3 owner should watch this.

@@GodlikeGTZ better pads and steel lines will help a little bit, that doesn't fix the potential reliability issue though. I can't remember if the Mercedes brake upgrade fits stock 16 wheels or not, but I know my rear brake upgrade requires 17inch wheels

Im running 8 piston calipers from the e55 amg in the front. very happy with them, but they are pretty heavy with the 360mm rotors. 2 more "cheap" options for rear brakes: I've tried Mk4 Supra turbo rear calipers with mk4 rotor, which works good. Also Evo 8 rear calipers fit with 2004 Impreza 5 lug rotors. The Impreza rotors need to be center bored from 58.1mm to 60.1mm. Brake booster: WFX motorsports makes a brake cylinder upgrade using a billet adapter for a bosch brake booster that is commonly found on the Tesla S pre facelift. Comes with wiring loom, guide and everything you need. Works really nicely and the proportioning is good. I'm running the bosch ibooster and the brake pedal feel is amazing compared to the old booster in the mk3.👍

Im battling stock ecu issues on my jza70. I tried sending my blitz ecu to the guy in texas... $700 later and it wont hot start... back to my spare ecu... it will hot start but runs like shit sometimes 😅

The whole damn car is a rabbit hole. I'm a year into the build and I keep finding little things that would make it better. About to start wiring the Haltech Nexus R3 once the motor is finished and I paint the subframe/control arms. Still need to finish the fuel system too...oh yeah and paint the whole car

Yes these cars are not for the weak spirited or the unmotivated, theyre not an easy stage 1, 2 ,3 bolt on kind of car. Dont give up though, youll love it when its back on the road :D

What brake booster upgrade do you recommend wend doing the bbk? I reed the 4runer will work, but I see mixed opinions on what year to use and to make sure is a doble diaphragm, Thank you.

I've been on the fence about what ECU I should get and ECUmaster makes a plug and play kit but I don't know anyone that tunes ECUmaster stuff. Wiring and electrical stuff is the area that I'd be more nervous about messing up myself or trusting someone else to not mess up. Really wish Haltech had a plug and play option for the 7M though.

I have not done any digging, but just because Haltech doesnt make a plug n play harness, doesnt mean one doesnt exist, we used a BOOMSLANG harness to make the Elite 2000 plug into my soarer 1JZ harness.

@@PoorManMods I have seen BOOMSLANG on DriftHQ but hadn’t ever heard about them so I was wary about their products but I think I might look again to see if they have a plug and play setup for Haltech and 7M. I’m pretty sure they had one for Link.

Ecumaster FB group has a lot of support. A lot of 7M guys run EMU black, including me. I would say it's geared towards the DIY guy.
