I honestly don't care what anyone says, the Matrix series is easily one of the best trilogies of all time, right up there with star wars and Lord of the rings. Sure the final two films have flaws, but honestly they were revolutionary for their genre, there was sooo much creativity packed into those films. Someone could write philosophical paper inspired purely by these films. Amazing plot, superb action, great acting... like cmon

I'm sorry, but the human Duracell moment should have been number one, the whole explanation of what the human race had been reduced to was mind blowing on first watch!!!!
@Linerunner999 жыл бұрын
Funny thing to me is when first watching it I totally saw all that coming. Everything that had happened up until Neo's "birth" had screamed to me "this world is fake". The movie's title even, by definition, pretty much gives it away.
@PeterEhik9 жыл бұрын
Wizborg yes, it was mind blowing and is truly one of the most impressive moments in the movie, it's why I dont really consider the matrix an action movie, it's way way more than that.
@pifci9 жыл бұрын
Wizborg Unfortunately, this is probably the biggest plothole in The Matrix.Humans are not very good at producing energy. Plus, every energy transfer is imperfect (laws of thermodynamics) and any additional step (such as feeding humans) causes some energy loss (where do the machines get the food?). Humans produce energy by breaking chemical bonds. This is pretty inefficient compared to nuclear fission, which would be much easier to handle (no need to keep your batteries alive, no need to worry that your batteries will fight against you etc.)

My absolute favorite scene from the trilogy is the chateau fight. So incredibly, incredibly slick and smooth, fantastically filmed and choreographed, and lacking all the heavy CGI work in Burly Brawl and the last fight with Smith. Really shows Neo as a character in full form, as opposed to the slowed-down and somewhat lackluster fights with New Agents and Seraph.

Spoiler alert: if you haven't watched the Animatrix and plan to, read no further. (Also, if you haven't watched it, stop whatever unimportant thing you're doing and watch it) In the live-action Matrix movies, you only get to hear the humans' side of the story - and a very distorted one. As they say, there are two sides to every coin. It's funny, really. One of the biggest plot holes people point out is the idea of using humans as a power source. Makes no sense, right? You can't get more power out than you put in. The answer is, Morpheus had it totally wrong. That was never the intention. He was repeating mythology that had nothing to do with what actually went down. In the Animatrix, we find out a more accurate (but still fuzzy) account of what happened. It went something like this: Humans created sentient machines. All was flowers and rainbows until the machines got it into their heads that they were, ugh, like people or something, and started acting like it. Can't have that, y'know? So there were riots. People smashing (read: killing) machines. Machines killing the smashers right back. Much unpleasantness. The machines got their heads together to discuss the unpleasantness. “These humans don't seem to like us at all. What are we to do? We could go all murderdeathmachine on them, but that doesn't seem nice.” Therefore they proposed a compromise: they'd go build themselves a city, where they would stay and manage their population, and humans would have sovereignty over all the rest of the world. The humans agreed. All was again flowers and rainbows until… Well, the machines were very good at making stuff. Stuff humans didn't know how to make. And humans who had been selling their stuff for gargantuan amounts of money suddenly had no market. Don't poke the bear, right? Rich people want to stay rich, and this machines-making-nice-things situation didn't please them at all. Now, this could have been discussed. Up to this point, the machines had been quite reasonable. But one thing led to another, and war broke out. The machines watched in horror as human troops and ordnance raped and pillaged. They tried to fight back, they tried to reason, but the humans were relentless. They even destroyed their own planet thinking the loss of solar power would kill off the machines. So, the machines had another powwow. “*sigh* The kids are misbehaving again. Whatever shall we do? We suppose murderdeathmachine is still on the table, but didn't we decide that wasn't nice?” So what they decided was, if the humans wouldn't stop smashing and burning and destroying stuff, they could have a nice virtual paradise for their minds while their bodies were stored safely where they couldn't smash stuff. So they made this thing, rounded up most of the humans, and put them in time-out to think about what they did. Problem was, the humans went ballistic. They wouldn't accept their paradise and so they just went around smashing each other in their virtual world. “Ugh. It's like they want us to murderdeathmachine them all. Any ideas, Machine Conclave?” And that is when a particularly clever machine (we know him as The Architect) proposed that humans can't not smash stuff. Humans need stuff to smash. So as a compromise, he built a virtual world that wasn't so great but had plenty of smashable stuff. This worked well. Unfortunately there was leakage - humans getting out into the “real” - and since humans seemed incapable of managing their own population, the machines were forced to do a little murderdeathmachine culling from time to time to keep everything under control. It wasn't ideal; it wasn't pleasant or nice; but what is one to do? One can't very well let them run around smashing everything. So as you can see, at literally every possible turn, the machines bent over backwards to prefer friendship over murderdeathmachine. And at every turn, we did the murderdeathhuman thing. Yep, I'd say they had a point.

My boyfriend made me watch these movies. I didn't expect to like them as I did but what made it really special was that scene at Reloaded in which Trinity, dressed like a goddess, approaches Neo before the dance in Zion, my boyfriend pointed to them, looked at me and said "I'll go wherever you go... Where is the red pill blue pill scene? Imo easyly more influentuel than a lot of these action scenes.

The bit where mouse rips out those 2 massive machine guns when SWAT storm the apartment building. Really highlighted the concept that you can just program in what you need when u need a concept I thought they under used in the sequels. Or walking down the street to "Clubbed to Death" best street walk scene since Saturday Night Fever.

I'm gonna say it.... Reloaded its better than Matrix1! Go watch then back to back and see which one still stands up!

tj mcgraw The first one,cuz Neo flies at the end like a total bad ass,nothing else in the trilogy can top that moment.

I got chills watching this. The ending to the first film was pretty badass too. The music had alot to do with it too. Him flying up to Rage. Perfect.

I agree with everything on this list... Except the lobby shoot out could've been moved up on this list...

YES!!! Your #1 is my #1 Matrix action scene!
@parsafakhar8 жыл бұрын
what?!!! why not the battle between smiths and neo in reloaded?
@gabesfilmsfortheworld8 жыл бұрын
Because the lobby shootout had no cgi, and smiths had a crapton

That one aged really bad.
@bluntedboywonder6 жыл бұрын
The CGI in that scene is really bad
@Serpheos6 жыл бұрын
Didn't even deserve the honorable mention tbh. It was shit back then and it is still shit now. So bad CGI and even the sound effects. It literally uses the sound of bowling pins getting knocked over. Annoying as fuck. They should had just toned it down a bit and fix those stupid fucking sound effects!
