Oasis are shit, Noel Gallagher even admitted to "borrowing" some riffs, saying it's not his job to write riffs. He's not an accomplished guitarist, he can barely play more than a few chords, which is accepted in a lot of music, but not when you claim to be in the greatest band ever... No comment on Phil Collins. I like The Smiths, especially Johnny Marr, but Morrissey is a complete prick.

Alex Paulsen Oasis are my favourite so I’ll try and be unbiased but how tf are Oasis shit? Although his voice fell off abit, 90s Liam Gallagher had the best voice I’ve ever heard without a doubt. Noel is one of the greatest songwriters ever, up there with Lennon, McCartney and Bob Dylan. He only borrowed a riff for ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’ which despite being a great song I wouldn’t use it to define him or Oasis. When you actually listen to the lyrics of Live Forever, The Masterplan, Some Might Say, Talk Tonight, Cast No Shadow and many other of Oasis’ best songs you will genuinely appreciate how good he actually was/is. He wrote easily two of the biggest songs to ever be produced in Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger. And as far as him being a guitarist goes, I mean he’s no Jimmy Page but he is a good guitarist. In short Noel wrote so many lyrical masterpieces and Liam made them sound absolutely unbelievable. For me they are one of the best bands ever and easily one of the most influential

@@biblical1694 Liam's voice sound very annoying, Noel's guitar work is nothing more than strumming a few chords, and the songwriting is nothing more clever than verse-chorus-verse-chorus etc pop song mentality. If they wanted to pretend they were The Beatles, they could have written something at least half as good as them. Bands like The Smiths gave us something new to work with, Oasis just gave us a creative dead end.

Joe Durant If you hate the vocalist, usually the hatred is transferred to the whole band. Like with Spice Girls as well - most people hate them because they hate guess who - DAVID BECKHAM!!! So there's the chain - Manchester United - David Beckham - Victoria Beckham - Spice Girls. Also, it goes with people who hate U2 as well or people who hate Bon Jovi or Guns'n'Roses.

This is why I hate this list. Snow Patrol are unforgettable to me. Chasing Cars and Run are my personal favourites, Oasis and Blur are legends, Spice Girls... well... yeah... Cheryl Cole...? Umm... she's alright I guess... Coldplay, just listen to them. Whether old or new music, they're legends, I'm a 1D FANATIC. I haven't been to any concerts or anything but they're one of the best out there in my opinion.

I understood. They are still the girl group which one danced the moves for the first times - those moves Little Mix, Girls Aloud, Pussycat Dolls, and almost every girl band in the 2000's dances. Except 5H who cannot dance. Also The Beatles is overrated but they gave a high standard for albums. Maybe we would be listening to singles instead of albums if Rubber Soul would never have come out. Their early stuff was considerably better, but after Mylo Xyloto they started trying to ride the EDM wave & have focused more on trying to write hit singles for Spotify (Chainsmokers) than actually being a good band like with their early work. Speaker Sex Well, I cannot stand his vocals except from few songs like "Another Day in Paradise" and "Land of Confusion". I really like Genesis Peter Gabriel era from "Trespass" to "Lamb Lies" - they were very original back then, playing prog rock. Suddenly they were a pop band. Phil was a good drummer for Genesis. I like pop but Phil's vocals are terrible.

Say what you want about Coldplay even though there legends but Chris Martin is most definitely not grumpy. If you listened to any interview of him ever he is the most humble, down to earth, kind and joyful person alive. He also always spreads the message of love.

*Some* of this makes sense but equally some really does not: The Smiths: A great band that happened to be fronted by (someone we now know is) a bit (actually a lot) of a prat. Morrissey alone would have made more sense here. Busted and One Direction: These are both so bland that those who are not fans simply do not care enough about them to hate them. Coldplay: The criticism is correct for about 15 years ago but they diversified their music since. Phil Collins: Can be a bit bland and tiresome at his worst but has done a lot of good music also; especially with Genesis.

Because some people feel like Coldplay sold-out. I have some friends that said to me that they liked their early 00´s music, but found their later music to be to genetic and mainstream. I myself like Coldplay and have no problems with how they have evolved from the beginning for their career. :)

Agreed. Morrissey has expressed some rather controversial opinions recently. That in itself is enough to trigger some rather disobliging responses from certain folk. However, the band is more than just Morrissey. Johnny Marr is an astonishingly good and technically original guitarist. That is coming from a metal-head, but I'm biased, being a Mancunian by birth.

I think success breeds a trend for hating bands/artists. At one point Ed Sheeran could do no wrong then almost overnight it was the 'in thing' to hate him. I love Coldplay and Snow Patrol too. I love who I love, and hate people/bands for real reasons!

The Beatles were and are and will always be the greatest boy band and band in history. It really p*sses me off when people say one direction are better and have sold more, they've only sold more because its easier to buy and download music nowadays, also they had everything handed to them...they go on a show shown to millions(for some strange reason) don't win,and get handed a record deal just because s few million teenage girls find them "cute",the Beatles had to work hard in clubs in Germany playing eight days a week and in the cavern club just to get recognized before finding a manger and being rejected by several studios before even making a single recording as the Beatles ... Before anyone says yes I know the Beatles had millions of teenage girls swooning over them but the Beatles unlike one direction actually have musical talent, the Beatles have created songs and albums that have changed the course of music and is unrivaled in its genius, without the Beatles modern British artists wouldn't have the American audiences they have now as the Beatles led the British invasion of the US and paved the way for every other British musician/band.

3:50 yes he did, Fightstar are awesome. Not only is their music several levels above Busted's but all of their albums were critically acclaimed, and evolved each time. Grand Unification was post-hardcore with elements of nu-metal and remnants of pop-rock, a product of the time One Day Son refined this and added more piano led moments, and more complex structures Be Human added a symphonic rock element, and furthered the progressive side of the band Behind the Devil's Back introduced considerably more keyboards to add to the atmosphere and progressive metal sound above the previous post-hardcore.
