In my opinion, instead of engineering and technology, Tauren science would focus on biology, agriculture and animal husbandry, cooking and food preparation, medicine and pharmacy, and maybe chemistry and alchemy. I speculate that Tauren might have discovered antibiotics, but since healing and purifying magic is available, the other races weren't interested. Other than that, Tauren are probably good at brewing alcoholic beverages, but don't get much credit.

Theres a few speculations. They are quite literally, stone and flesh statues brought to life by necromancy. This is a fact. 1. Ner'zhul bought inspiration from the burning legion's Felbats and used their layout as a blueprint for a monstrosity that can soar the skies to cover ground quickly. 2. Ner'zhul bought inspiration from the Venthyr and maybe Maldraxxus, same story as above otherwise. You can see the logic in that i suppose 3. They are inventions of the San'layn (Darkfallen), who joined the scourge quite early, and even were a part of the scourge before Quel'thalas fell. Obviously the San'layn transformation is of Venthyr origin. Gargoyles also have vampyric senses and hunger. So this is even more logical since the main trend of Ner'zhul his creations were plague, skeletons, undead humanoids, magically enhanced structures and educating humanoids in necromany through Kel'thuzad. Anyway, i think their origin lies with the Darkfallen. Noone knows for sure The proof that they are of stone is provided by the fact that some Gargoyles drop stone fragments. And lastly ofcourse blizzard was inspired by the gargoyles you can find on mamy gothic churches. And those are ofcourse made of stone Oh and finally, to create stone life there needs to be organic material to support the necro magic. This is not canon for warcraft, but also not denied. but it is a fact in many fantasy worlds and genres.

Your point against the iron horde I would like to correct a little... When Garrosh escaped to the alternate Draenor to kick start the Iron Horde he brought along MANY of siege crafter blackfuses schematics and ideas; helping to kick start their technology a long way. It was not developed entirely by just the iron horde as they had all of the technology Blackfuse (aka goblins) had made such as the Iron stars, war machines e.t.c

I feel Draenei is simply the most intelligent just because they had so much time. I honestly still believe goblins and gnomes are smarter due to both being so young but advancing so quickly. I highly doubt the Draenei were able to develop their technology as quickly as the goblins and gnomes. If we compare ourselves to humans 100 years from now are they actually smarter? No, they will simply have more time to develop. I feel "potential" should be the most important decider. And quite simply the Draenei seem stagnant and caught on old ways rather than developing new solutions.

They always reply on old technology hundreds of years old showing no indication of adapting or improving like the gnomes and goblins. I would even say Elves are much smarter as a comparison as their race continues to try and push technology constantly. It's a fools trap because "they have space ships".

I've always believed that the difference in goblin and gnome machines is that goblins build many of them to be offensive, while gnomes build them defensive.

I think its in the Gelbin Mekkatorque shortstory, but he believes gnome engineering to be superior to goblins' because of motivation. Goblins focus near-totally on money, which is reflected by some of their work, basically more of a quick buck scenario. Gelbin explains that gnomes build what they build out of passion, progress and friendship. They put in more work because part of their nature is friendship with their allies and a genuine desire to help them as much as they can, an attitude goblins don't seem to share. Gelbin's perspective, so maybe a little biased, but to me at least it seems true

What you said is great. I'll add that gnomes are a lot more collaborative, while goblins constantly compete with each other. This results in very short deadlines and jumping from project to project for the goblins, while the gnomes put in teamwork and a long amount of hours into a project.

I'd say they are either in 10th or 11th place with the tauren swapping with them. The great stone works of Pandaria are by the mogu with the civilization in their prime. Got to keep that in mind. Pandaren are very agrarian, same as tauren.

There is no way that dwarves should be rated lower than humans, especially when you count Dark Iron dwarves, who are superior engineers and spellcasters. You see less dwarven spellcasters on lore only because they are less popular than humans and dark irons are a recent addition.

This list is really cool, although I would have not compared dwarves and humans. To me, they're basically the same in intelligence, just specialised in different fields (notably, dwarves in mechanical and war engineering, metallurgy and smithing). Humans are just faster learners and arguably better at wielding magic: most of their original technology came from the dwarves (while from the elves they learned arts, architecture and magic), which taught them as they learned very very fast. Dwarves were more advanced than humans in the ancient times, and by quite far, but being "slow thinkers", traditionalists and generally interested in all things of old, rather than focusing on progress like the gnomes, the humans, which mixed all the bits of technology from various races, possibly outsmarted them. So, it kind of makes sense that you put humans above dwarves, although the latter are still unmatched in their own fields of expertise (maybe just by the orcs in smithing and war engineering, seen the recent developments in WoD). Speaking of which: who do you think are the most advanced race regarding war technology (all things from smithing, war engines ans fortifications)? I'd bet on orcs, with the help of goblins.

What about the Dark Iron? They surpass the dwarves in magic by a laaaarge margin and are on equal footing technologically. Architecturally, it can be argued that they surpass the bronzebeard for making and maintaining a city in a volcano. Sure Ragnoros could've helped them better manipulate fire, but a similar case can be made for the AU Blackrock Clan in their molten-hearted mountain. P.s. Dark Iron > other dwarves xD

Just because gnomes are “smarter” then goblins doesn’t mean they’re better goblins have lots of other intellectual qualities such as being a great salesmen, A goblin could sell water to a water elemental, when it comes to their money making schemes they do lots of research and planning before hand which is why they’re the richest race in Azeroth, Gallywix worked his way from the bottom all the way to the top to become trade prince through scheming backstabbing and lots and lots of planning, goblins are smarter than gnomes they just don’t use all of it in engineering

Considering that the Iron Horde became as technologically advanced as it was in only two years by reverse engineering the goblin technology that Garrosh brought with him? Yeah, orcs are massively more intelligent than they're given credit for. Kairoz took Garrosh to four years before the Dark Portal was opened in the timeline. Warlords of Draenor, on the Draenor side, takes place two years later. Orcs also built the Dark Portal in that timeline faster than they did in the main timeline, a full two years earlier. It's like Eitrigg said to Tirion in Of Blood and Honor: "Do you think my people survived in your world this long using brute strength alone? Your kind has always underestimated mine. That is why you lost the first war, I think."

Pandaren didnt make the list at all. They have built great architecture, there castles of stone. They have mastered many arts, they have a long history. the only draw back is they use bamboo in alot of there smaller work? Small houses are simple. They are close to nature. I donno whos the best brewer, Pandaren or Dwarf, but they do not have machinery they rely on powerful beasts. So I can see. Flying kites for there non living mounts, engineering no, no powerful mages in there history.

I feel like the orcs are unfairly judged here. It should be taken into account that the orcs have only had around 1000 years to develop their culture and technology. Humans have had 10 times that time and the first humans were raised and taught by vrykul. I'd have personally lumped in the Forsaken with the humans... Worgen and Kul Tirans too for that matter. All of these races have the same human kind of mind. What you say gives the Forsaken a slight edge over humans would be cancelled out by the fact that they are literally rotting away, which includes their brains. Sylvanas being an exception because she is a banshee, which means her 'true' form is no longer bound by that physicality, even while they possess a body (and also the fact that she was an elf and not a human).

There are also Arakkoa, although not a playable race they are very intelligent. A Dwarf in Hellfire Peninsula I think (not to sure about this) once stated that "Arakkoa are as smart as any Gnome" or something like that. There was also a Cursed Arakkoa named Grizzik who helped the Alliance Expedition of Draenor during the Second War I think because he wanted revenge on the Horde for what the Shattered Hand did to them (very long story, I suggest you read up on it yourself, too many important events to summarize without missing something) but what makes Grizzik so intelligent is that not only was he dangerous in battle, as it's explained he stabbed an Orc and pecked another's eyes out with ease but he was also able to learn the human language just by watching them communicate. Arakkoa are much like the Trolls when it comes to old races, the Arakkoa are the oldest known race that originated on Draenor and their intellect is very close in comparison to the Draenei for example, they made their sun powered golems simply by watching the Draenei make theirs. So Arakkoa are incredibly fast learners and brilliant in the case of warfare since when the Shattered Hand first tried to take Skyreach the Arakkoa used their technology to wipe out countless members of the clan but the Arakkoa seemed mostly neutral, like, in WoD the High Arakkoa were religious fanatics and killed many of the Outcasts because it was "Rukhmar's will" and had plans to recover Apexis technology and use it against the "lesser races of Draenor" but that didn't work out too well as not only did their own people defect from the faction, many because of draconian rules, but they formed a faction that eventually took over, this is the faction we helped named the Order of The Awakened, but I'm getting off topic. The Apexis who came before the Arakkoa we knew on Draenor had no interest in conquering unlike their descendants but they did have the power to conquer if they wanted to, their technology was so advanced that they went to war with the Primals and won, although it was a hard-fought battle they still won, and they were dealing with an artificial Sporemound named Taala.

The point was covering the playable races. I might make a separate video about the non-playable. The reason I decided to go for just the ones available to us is because there are many other races and beings in the universe that are just far more intelligent such as the nathrezim, titans, naaru etc.

Lol I never thought of Taurens as a "intelligent race". They literally have like 0 technology and they smoke weed everyday, Cairne Bloodhoof quote "puff, puff give, that's the rule". Makes me think of the Spiritwalker quote from Warcraft 3 when he farts over and over again and says "aaah, the spirits are powerful today". At least pandaren can be mages :)

I don't think forsaken are smarter than people just because they're lack of morals and emotions... on the other hand, if magic is purely based on intelligence, humans would be top 5 with elves and gnomes and goblins and dreanais.... with so many op human wizards, any forsaken one... I don't feel those corpses deserve such a high spot ignoring unplayable races, so ogres for example
