I misspoke there while trying to keep the video concise. Although the Ancient Ruins do belong to the Dragons, the Night Kingdom is a separate location. The heroes go to the Ancient Ruins because a Rift leading to the Night Kingdom is found there. Therefore, it would have been more accurate for me to say, "When the party of heroes approaches the Night Kingdom, they find the Ruins of an Ancient Dragon Empire." I did not intend to say that the Night Kingdom and the Dragon Ruins are the same place, it's just a slight wording error.

hey there is something that confuses me...idk if you'll see this but i hope you do...anyway...the game stated that the visions are granted to humans/creatures that the archons have acknowledged their efforts or something...so my question is this, fosalor executed herself to destroy the hydro throne. then doesn't that mean that the hydro vision should become empty pendants? like the hydro vision should disappear, and also if the hydro archon is dead and the hydro throne is destroyed...why did furina get a hydro vision? this was one of the things that kept me thinking...idk the reason -_- now I'm thinking about it...for archons...do they need the authority of their corresponding element to give vision?

One point about Chasca that stood out to me is how similar her backstory is to Shenhe. Both left to die by their families for * reasons * but it awakened their 'survival instincts' when fighting off against monsters/saurians, which had a side effect of turning them extremely prone to violence. Now Shenhe had the help of the adepti and the red thread that helps her keep her violent tendencies in check, while Chasca had her adopted sister disciplining her all the time (sometimes unsuccessfully...) Probably not lore-relevant, but still a neat detail I think, and weird to see it twice

If we see Ronova in-game, in my opinion she'll sadly be represented as a Black Cat, much like Cassiodor was represented by a Sapphire Cat. Why do I think that? I think in 5.0 we can already meet Ronova, althought we don't know its Ronova. When you take the bridge directly south of the Stadium of Sacred Flame, jump down to the right (map orientation-wise) about half-way through the bridge, into the marshes below, on a small island there is an obsidian(?) monument, much like the ones that teleport you to the Night Kingdom to do battle with the Local Legends. You need an item to activate the teleport, but I forgot what it was called. Instead of taking you to the Night Kingdom with all the Wayobs present, it takes you to a shadowy version of the Stadium of Sacred Flame. There, you interact with a gray/black transparent Cat named "? ? ?" and (s)he (not voiced) tells you to quell the souls' desire to fight and satisfy them so they can move on. At the end you are rewarded with 3 chests. There are some beautiful golden flowers present there, that made me think of Leyndell from Elden Ring when I saw them. In the gloomy atmosphere they give out an almost immaculate, divine aura of reverence.

I haven't done this yet cuz I don't have the item, *but* if you do the world quest, you meet a similar cat with the title "Beast with Fur like that of Night". She talks about how you helped soothe the souls of those who couldn't pass on. Sounds like it's the same cat, and strengthens the idea that this may be Ronova (or at least an avatar of her). This would also be interesting to link to Cassiodor, another spirit of a dead person who could not pass on, taking the form/body of a cat.

Wrt the elves: in many high fantasy settings, there is such a thing as a difference between elves and half-elves, so maybe that's the chief distinction between Alice-Klee-Nahida and Chasca-Layla-types? So maybe the full elves have the longer lifespans and longer maturing stages, while half-elves have something closer to a human's life cycle? Pure speculation, but I do wonder.

I don't disagree with what you said. However, we know for certain what Nahida is, as both Rukkhadevata and Kusanali are Tree Spirits. Buer can't be the same species as the other 'Elves,' but it's possible that the other 'Elves' are of the same species as her (in other words, they could also be Tree Spirits).

14:46 tbh at this point my headcanon is that all Teyvat is based almost exclusively on pseudo science and it's a deliberate choice from creators. Genshin's world has Astrology, Gnosticism, Kabbala, Hermeticism and countless other concepts trying to explain the world. And all of those theories are correct if we believe Kirara's Simulanka quest. So Genshin's world is like a vault(an Ark) containing all these concepts that belong to the realm of Imaginary.

First let me say- it’s been so great to be on this journey with you :) been watching for over a year now, and it’s been awesome watching your channel grow and listen to you kind of get into the groove of making lore videos. Your thoughts and insight are awesome and inspire me to spend more time researching things that make me curious in genshin. Next I will say. Playing this archon quest was such an experience for me. My friend that also loves genshin was playing a game on their steam deck in the living room with me, so I had to play completely silently on PlayStation with no reactions to not accidentally spoil anything. Can you even imagine how hard that was. Not reacting in any way that might make my friend look at the giant living room tv and be spoiled. Watching that fight scene with no more than raised eyebrows. Getting to see ruins of an ancient dragon civilization straight faced. Seeing a friggen divine nail and not just screaming immediately??? All in all I think my brain was broken for a while afterwards. Both from the quest and the sheer exertion. But I managed well enough to enjoy getting yelling with my friend when I got to watch them play it blind (they hadn’t even watched the 5.0 teaser). All in all I’m so glad to see this video, I knew the theorists were going to eat well.

#10: The elf thing is hard because when you look at the ears, you always assume. I'm a D&D player and I know well that pointy ears don't always mean elvan. Especially since Klee's ears and Chasca's ears look VERY different. I mean, just looking at the player's handbook I can point out not just elves but half-elves, orcs, gnomes, and even tieflings all have pointy ears. And all their ears are different shapes and sizes. It's completely possible that Chasca is a completely different species from the characters that Venti has described as having "elf ears" so far. Heck, Iansan looks more like Klee's species than Chasca.

I have a bit of a crazy theory, but hear me out: Is it possible that Capitano is Mavuika’s dad? I find it suspicious that he wasn’t present in her memory of saying goodbye to her family, and the fact her mother makes it sound like he is not happy with Mavuika’s decision. If her relationship to her father wasn’t going to have some impact on the main story in the present, why would they choose to exclude him from that scene in the past? Unless they didn’t want us to hear his voice… There was also the bit at the end where her little sister makes a point of telling Mavuika she’ll find a way to gain immortality so they can see each other in the future, but I think that could be both a case of foreshadowing the existence of ways for humans to become immortal and a red herring getting us to speculate Capitano is her sister a la Firefly and SAM. Of course this may be pure crack cause why wouldn’t she recognize him at the arena? They might have a way to hand wave it, but I recognize that it is a pretty glaring hole. But from the perspective of a writer, it just strikes me as odd to point out her family in the story, clearly show her father, then make a point to explain his absence in a scene that he ought to be in otherwise, if you didn’t plan on him having an appearance later in the story.

My theory or speculations: Elves that walk todays Teyvat like Layla or Chasca are more mixed with humans but they carry elve genes, that's why they have short life spans but still may carry dominant traits. Alice is closely related to elves that once had bigger population in Teyvat (possibly related to seelies, that only makes it for me more believable, if old seelies aka elves were killed but their children are what left and they continue passing elve traits),hence she lives for so long and Klee is maturing slowly and will have longer life span comparing to Layla for example. If anyone want to disscuss or debunk it, I'm open for convo :3

My tinfoil crack theory fits with this. It's that Layla, Chasca, and Pulcinella may be the same type of 'elf', but I think Klee is something else and it's all based solely on their ears. The first three all have ears that look the same/similar, but outside of being long Klee's ears look completely different. Chasca, Layla, Pulcinella all have forward facing ears either angled up or level, but Klee has down facing ears angled down.

I wonder how this whole "Ancient Name for the Traveler" business will affect their relationship with Teyvat. Considering they are a Descender and DO NOT leave a register on Irminsul, forging such a name for themselves could alter that... (Also, I'm 95% sure that the Ancient Name that will be inscribed for the Traveler will be that, "Traveler", thus canonizing the title as something more than just what NPCs call the player character, now "Traveler" will be their PROPER title :D)

This is the method that will result in our Traveler gaining Pyro power. Remember that Natlan has no ley lines. Every other nation does. Ley lines carry in them what? Memories. As the Traveler unlocks Constellation nodes adventuring through a nation, what is the material used to unlock them? Memories! When the Traveler touches a Shrine of the Seven to connect to a Divine Throne and gain an elemental power, that connection is being made through the ley lines... Which Natlan lacks! Instead the Night Kingdom serves as their ley lines, managing the memories of the dead in a similar manner. So by forging us an Ancient Name, Mavuika is essentially giving us access to their unique memory management system, which will allows us to connect to the Pyro elemental authority (which currently resides in the Sacred Flame).

I have a question. Mavuika said that if ancient name couldn't be forged, they would have disappeared already. But if the names from 500 years ago are still passed down (since a lost name cannot be retrieved) and there is only one name in a tribe, that means they never need to forge new ones in the last 500 years. And since the problem with the night kingdom started with the cataclysm if I'm not mistaken. Is there an ancient name that is a "new one"? for lack of better term

There isn’t just 1 ancient name per tribe. If you rmb each team that takes part in the pilgrimage is lead by a name bearer. Atea and Vichama are also name bearers that fought in the Night Warden Wars (only name bearers are allowed to fight in the wars, people who win the pilgrimage but aren’t name bearers are exempt from the wars cause they can’t be revived if they die). Also Vichama’s friend Malko was also was a name bearer, but his team lost the war, he died and thus lost his ancient name. Situations like Malko’s would be why new ancient names need to be forged. I think what you’re getting confused about is the 6 ancient heroes, one from each tribe, that fought alongside Tenoch. Mualani, Iansan, Kinich and Xilonen are part of Mavuika’s plan bc they bear the same names as the one of these heroes. But there are other name bearers who don’t bear the ancient names of these 6 important heroes, eg Kachina.

@5:33- I just want to add that as a Rock enthusiast and collector (I use them from metaphysical reasons), when I saw Obsidian was going to be a thing in Natlan, I thought it was highly appropriate for practical and spiritual purposes. I did take Geology in college (loved that class) and learned obsidian basically volcanic rock so it being found in Natlan is perfect. In Spiritual matters, Obsidian is used for purification purposes, it draws out negative energy. So I am looking forward to your video on this subject because I am sure you'll touch on these matters. *Not even a minute later* Well there you go lol. I just finished the world quests yesterday and needless to say that last one I could do is one of my favs, especially with the lore reveals and how it connects to our Saurian companion. I think it foreshadows of what will happen at the end of the main story, at least I hope it ends the way I hope it does.

After your video I actually realized that so far all the shades have had a connection with the archons... Istaroth is an ally of Venti and Ei's stories. Both of them also have relations with the concept of time. Ei is eternity - preservation of things over time, and Venti is freedom, the changes over time. Venti also knows how to see the future trough songs. Egeria has a relationship with the shade of life and learned how to mimic and create near perfect lifeforms. Hydro is also related to HP and healing most of the time in game. Now we have Pyro archons directly receiving their powers from Ronova, she shade of death. This leaves Zhongli, Buer and Tsaritsa without a connection yet. I believe Nahida is likely tied to the shade of life as well, after all the Irminsul and the entire Dendro element is related to life as well. Zhongli I am almost sure he must have some connection with the shade of space. We for sure know almost nothing about Zhongli's origins, and there's still that secret that he is keeping between him and the Tsaritsa. Also, I think he is related to space because of a few references on his design and powers, like being the god of money (and the goblet usually simbolizes wealth), his ultimate being a whole ass comet, and the fact that he gave Azdaha a body and Azdaha was like, a rock or something. So that would create the following connections: Life - Hydro & Dendro Time - Electro & Anemo Space - Geo Death - Pyro So far I have no idea about the Tsaritsa, but what I noticed that is if we know some of the archons got their powers from the shades, maybe all shades preside over 2 elements, meaning 4 shades = 8 elements, which strenghtens also the theory of having one secret additional element that we do not know.

If you believe Asmoday (Sustainer) is the Shade of Space, then you can explain her connection to Morax through their Cubes. Morax is the only Archon who manifests his power in the form of a Cube, while all the other Archons utilize Spheres. I considered discussing this a few weeks ago but decided to hold off. The main challenge I encountered was the dilemma of Ronova creating Kapatcir, an Electro God. This would logically tie Ronova to the Electro element, as well as Pyro through Xbalanque. However, this connection seems to overlap with Istaroth, Barbatos, and Baal. It doesn't seem like the Shades follow Elements.

After this patch I am convinced that Kapatcir is the Sovereign Electro. All very old civilizations have "human sacrifices", and the civilization that worshiped Kapatcir would be no different. She is said to be a thunderbird, but we know that dragons can have an "animalistic" form, like Apex. Kapatcir was probably brainwashed like all dragons and lived in harmony with the Electro archon, until she began to suffer from erosion similar to Azhdaha and is now sealed on the other island (as Azhdaha was sealed until the events of Zhongli's Story Quest 2). And I am convinced that Wayob is one of Ronova's creations (as Egeria is to the Shade of Life and possibly Venti is to Istaroth). He has a connection to the Night Realm, has the power to resurrect people from Natlan, but a somewhat "nerfed" power (similar to Egeria's power to generate life being "nerfed"). The Night Realm seems to be the purgatory of this universe, and is very similar in appearance to Enkanomiya and Chasm, and in a way all three are in the "underground". Based on the theory that Teyvat is flat, I would say that the three realms that Enkanomiya presented to us are 3 flat realms superimposed on top of each other. Teyvat would be the top realm, purgatory would be the realm of the Shade of Death's domain, which would be in the middle and would be a realm to guide the souls of the dead, but due to the corrosion of the Abyss in this realm and probably the one below it, the Primordial One had to send everyone to the top realm and "seal" it from the other two realms, with the Leylines acting as a substitute for purgatory and completely changing the physical and spiritual structure of Teyvat. The false sky dome must be another barrier against the abyss as well, and the nails are "patches" in space to seal abyss portals that have been opened, similar to how you use needle and thread to close a hole in a shirt.

It could just be that Alice bewitched her own daughter to never age 😂 it is not unlikely I feel. Knowing how much she would miss her own daughter growing up due to her adventures taking her away from raising her child. It would thus not be inconceivable that Alice would halt her growth to allow Alice and her husband time to traverse the world and beyond and complete Hixenzirkel business. So that when they return Klee would still be the same age so they can raise her to maturity. Also, this could explain why Alice is very adamant about giving klee a wonderful summer adventure 😅😅😅😅 this is just my take on the matter. 2 things I noticed 1) When naming Little One, if you try "Xbalanque" the reaction is the same as it is for Neuvillette, Dvalin and Azhdaha, giving them a connection (also it is phrased like there's a dragon link) this made me think Xbalanque might be the Pyro dragon or at least closely associated with them 2) the heroes of Natlan the 4 heroes we know (Mualani, Kinich, Iansan and Xilonen) are Hydro, Dendro, Electro and Geo. It is quite probable the remaining 2 will be Chasca and Citlali (Anemo and Cryo) giving us every element except for Pyro which is of course either Mavuika or the Traveler. Furthermore, due to Kachina being Geo as well I realized that perhaps every playable character in Natlan may have their tribe's element. Also, Capitano had a nightsoul glow during the battle cutscene which indicates he's from Natlan. Using the previous he should be from the Masters of the Night Wind (Cryo) which works as he seems to work with some of them (altough it was said that someone else conjured up the smoke, probably that guy from the trailer, I can't remember his name)

24:24 ahh I waited so long for that, I remember asking one of people who I started journey in genshin with - What is Rosaria? a snake? a dragon? a vampire? - because of her design and special abbilities like hearing very good and fast, quiet transportaton (I believe she have those traits genetically besides being raised by bandits, at least hearing part). She said to me that's she's none of that and it's just design choice, that I'm overthinking it. And here we are now :3 Enkanomiya and "part vishap" people gave me hope for people of teyvat carrying those vishap-related traits (similar to elve theory below) and that's why some characters have sharp pupils even tho they are just humans. Answer to Rosaria question is that she's related to old dragon civilization, her whole village (that was in dragonspine?? ) could have been related to them Maybe I'm headcanoning too much, and I will admit that I'm going far with those takes, hopefully we will know more soon, I need to read alll read-ables in Natlan : D

I am a bit confused about what you mean regarding Klee's longevity. If Klee is the same species as Chasca (which we have no reason to suspect otherwise) then they should age the same as humans from childhood to adulthood since Chasca was a kid along with Mualani.

Remember that Chasca was abandoned by her parents due to her "incurable disease". She looks perfectly healthy and is a capable warrior though. So, her illness can be aging quicker than she should. The other natlan elf seems to have an adult job and is a multiple-time war veteran despite looking like a child, so for me it seems more likely that elves are supposed to have an extended life span and longer age stages, and Klee is so child-like bc people around just keep treating her like a baby, and it slows down her mental development.

Klee is definitely an elf. Probably grow like humans til they hit maximum brain and body development and then slowly slowly age after that (25-30 years to peak and then their against is slowed and stretched amongst their probably multi thousand year lifespan)

The one thing that I really want clarification on is the assertion that the dragons’ civilization was inside the night kingdom. Playing through the story I thought that the dragon civilization was merely underground and that they didn’t actually enter the night kingdom until reaching the abyssal rift looking thing. I also assumed that the night kingdom was created by the first pyro archon when he established the rules of Natlan and the ode to resurrection. The one thing that confuses me though is that it seems like the wayob might have existed prior to the pyro archon and were possibly already being worshipped by humans and/or dragons. Out of everything we learned in 5.0 I’m most interested in hearing about the wayob since that info seems very scattered and difficult to parse so far.

I think Chasca still might be much older. They don't really state how long she was alone in the wilderness, or when she was left there. It is possible that she was still "young" when she was taken in but was old enough that she "grew up" while there. So people like Chasca, Layla, and Klee could be decades old but still look like children/teens. They could be related to seelies, or even dragons. Since Neuvillette also has pointed ears. Chasca could also be only half or quarter elf. That would make her aging faster probably. Is it ever stated that Klee's father is human or elf? If both of Klee's parents are elves, she might age much slower than humans, whereas; Chasca could be partially human. So sorry that I'm not wording this better. I hope I'm making sense here. The most confusing thing for me is "why does Natlan not have an archon in the first place" Didn't archon war happen for reason to make an archon to rule over all regions in Teyvat? Didn't we heard many time even from archons that Celestia choose demon gods that survive archon war to be rulers that they have contracts with? Also, does 7 nations, 7 elements, 7 archons concept mention in game or just the thing that Hoyo make us to think of it this way? Is Natlan even considered in Teyvat in the first place? (The new billet called "borderland" billet).

Mavuika is the Archon. But in a similar fashion to Fontaine, it might be that the Gnosis is in the primal fire. Or another part of their power is, making them weaker than someone like Zhongli.
