I run a surplus store. There was a severely autistic guy in his 20s who would come in every couple weeks, with a social worker. And every week it was a different story, one week he's killed a North Korean general, the next it was he had beef with Israeli Mosssad because he married someone's daughter. I think it was a coping mechanism for him. I never actively questioned it because I knew about his condition, but man did I have to hold back laughter. One time his social worker even had to step in because a veteran customer was getting a little heated and we had to explain.

@@alexnunezramos1720 I just couldn’t help myself, lol! Just to think that a week ago, I was hanging with all my brothers at the American Legion, burning thousands of American flags in a flag retirement ceremony. Gotta remember that we spent the day before opening and folding all those flags until everyone’s arms got sore. For the ceremony itself, my first time btw, we had a group of Young Marines and Cub Scouts that were more squared away than any of these bozos in this video, lol. I also think that what these young men did was braver than what any of these bozos did. I didn’t know about the Young Marines when growing up but I can tell you that its a wonderful program for kids. It gives them an insider look at the Marines and they have the option of saying this isn’t for me or continue on to real Marine Corps bootcamp. I’m not sure if the Young Marines would of made a difference for me or not, coming from a family of West Pointers. First, I didn’t think I had what it takes to go to West Point even though I was a straight “A” student. I wasn’t like my uncles, one played the trumpet, really good too. They’re all silent keys now, I still miss them...

I served in the Navy and knew a few Seal team members. I never operated with them other than to get them close on occasion, to their area of operation. I held great respect for these men and can not stand these fake seals. I once at a reunion made a comment to one of them about how I felt, and honored to have gotten a chance to say I knew a few. He turned to me and told me it was a pleasure to have served with me. I was confused till he told more than once our crew were their heroes. He explained that after completing a mission, it still was a relief to see us there ready to pick them up. Made this old regular Navy guy feel good.

I've been out of the Navy for over 35 years. So therefore I haven't kept up with all the uniform changes and would have a hard time telling what is legit and what is not. Some are really obvious and some are not. I used to wear old woodland camo pants I picked up at Gun shows and surplus stores because they were really good work pants, tough and cheap. People would ask me if I was a Marine and I would tell them, no I scored too High on my Asvab. Then immediately tell them, I was a proud Squid. After 9 11, I stopped wearing them so people wouldn't mistake me as a recent Soldier or Marine and thank me for something I didn't do. I do wear my Navy Veterans ball cap, as a result, I have had a few Homeless Veterans reach out to me as a fellow Brother to talk to, which is what us older guys should be doing. People have Thanked me for my service and I will tell them, I appreciate it but the only real Danger I was ever in was running out of beer and money in the Philippines said with a chuckle. @THAT GUY oh dear, it seems that you have taken my dry humour seriously😕 However, you have discussed some very good points that can be helpful. I'm also an Australian Veteran just to clarify a bit more. I became a counsellor and help people along with the veteran community with many issues. I've had quite a few Vets who get stuck on that old saying "The Army trained me to be a soldier but didn't train me to be a civilian" well, there is no training to be a civilian, it's not a title that is earned it's just a word. The main issue is qualifications and skills and how they can be adapted to a new life outside. I'm not sure how it goes in the U.S but in Australia, we can have our qualifications mapped over to civilian and they can show what types of jobs a person may be suited for. Unfortunately mine were security and counter-terrorism occupations, which didn't suit the injuries I sustained before my discharge. So I had to go back to the drawing board and find a new life on my own (which many of your points highlight) Australia doesn't have a G.I Bill so education can be limited for some Vets (money wise) to diploma level. When we're in, there is a "higher power" looking after career progression and you're spot on when you said all the resources are taken care of and we have to learn to depend on ourselves more. Hard for many Vets to do when they have mental health issues clouding their decision making skills along with added pressure to get employed, take care of family or whatever they individually face. Thank you.for taking the time to comment and add some real, no nonsense advice. I hope some people who click on this thread read what you wrote and it helps them🙂

@Mr. W the good guys compared to who, the people they're fighting? The ones beheading civilians, journalists, women, children, etc? The neighbor or friend or family member; "I heard you work with computers. Can you fix my iron or toaster or 30 year old am radio or lawnmower or television or etc etc.' ? But never, not once, not ever do you hear 'can you help with my computer?' 'I'll pay you.' Then your friend or neighbor or family member will take the PC or Mac to Best Buys. They will plug in a loose wire and charge 150 dollars. The kicker is when they have to tell you about the deal they got from Best Buy. sigh

I have met a few folks who flunked out of SF and SEAL training and I have great respect for those people for being honest and for trying. I grew up in Okinawa and we had Field Day at school every year when the SF guys would come over and along with the Biy Scouts they would build some cool stuff such as towers and bridges. It was really fun! We were in Okinawa after dad left Vietnam. Okinawa was such a cool place to grow up!! I often wonder what my dad would think of these guys?

My brother tried out for BUDS just to see if he could do it. A few instructors convinced him to drop out telling him he would be nothing more than an expendable trigger man with no future in civilian life. They told him he was way more valuable than he thought and to go back to doing air craft electronics work. To this day my brother only talks about the fun times in the Navy and nothing is brought up about BUDS out of respect for them guys.

In all my years as a belly gunner on a baking soda powered submarine I've learned you can tell the fake soldiers right away because they go on about how much they did and how great they were and those of us that really did serve seem to talk more about the people we served with and the things that they did.

I certainly find truth in this. My brother's the one who served, and most of his stories have less to do with military operations and more to do with his experiences with his fellow soldiers. In fact, I couldn't really tell you what my brother does in the Army, but I can tell you that "Smith" hates mayo on his hot dogs, that "Ericks" got smoked for accidentally telling his CO to "eat a d*ck", that "Johnson"'s Jamaican accent comes out when he's angry, and that my brother's CO was trying not to laugh as he checked in on my brother on the radio after seeing him fall on his ass on the cameras he was monitoring.

@TheBestLife2184

@Abe Froman Our site exposes your evil side using the top Freemason's own words. Other sources include many doctors, a former elite banker, the former leader of the FBI in Los Angeles, the former CEO of the top music conglomerate, much video evidence and much much more. Again, what proof did you bring to the table: only yourself. Yeh that sounds like what comes from the liberal and RINO university people these days: phoniness with no credible sources to back up their claims. I'm sure you kissed lots of feet too, to get the billionaires' trickle-down jobs, dollars, and acceptance. The bible says it's better to store up your treasure in heaven than to store it up on earth where thieves and such can take it away, as is happening now with covid checks, business lock-downs and more. I almost joined the military but didn't because I do not like fighting for the evil billionaires who run America and this world. I do not like fighting for people with no integrity. Do you know why nasty words come out of your mouth Abe? It's because you have a sewer in your heart. It's no joke. Bible says out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. You need a new heart Abe. It's true.
