The 360 in the Halo run is actually part of the run. If you don't spin the Warthog, it might flip over when it lands, so it's not just a pointless 360. He just messed it up.

Buying SUMMONS look mate, I've run this game for three years, I have a PB of 1:18:53, over ten minutes faster than the lad in the video, and the 360 is the proper strat for The Maw, because your hog will land flat, whereas if you drive straight off you'll probably die, and if you don't you're still bouncing a bit and losing time over doing the 360

Look into Goldeneye speedrunning community and you'll find some of the most intense runners and rivalries out there. Tying a WR is not nearly as prestigious as getting an untied one, which is why he is so disappointed.

yeah as christian said it, tying the WR is not that special. it happens actually quiet often. but having an untied one, means you're currently the best. until someone ties that one... which will not take too long because everybody will go for it. EDIT: "not too long." with that i don't want to say that i couldn't take a year or some.

The 360 in Halo is necessary because if you would jump straight the nose of the warthog would dip down and you would lose speed and therefor time. With the 360 it doesn't happen. Every (good) Halo speedrunner does that.

I've attempted the 360 every run since I started speedrunning H:CE. My nerves were (obviously lol) running high with it being PB pace and I contemplated just going straight but because I had never actually done that recently I freaked out and messed it up thinking too much about it.

Actually in the Halo run. Its kind of needed to do the 360. Theres a chance you can flip the warthog if you just go straight down. And the 360, if done correctly, do a smooth landing with no chance of flipping it.

I'll actually make a top level comment since everyone is ragging the CE guy. I've run the game for over 3 years, and the 360 is a strategy that will level your hog in midair and make it much much easier to land. If you go straight off you will nose dive and die or get kicked out of the hog 9/10 times. OP please do research before making fun of people in a community you don't know
