the little threat pose from the T.seladonia was absolutely adorable lol
@crowofjudgement8810 Жыл бұрын
T. Seladonia has definitely come down a lot in price, there was spiderlings recently available in the uk from one of the main tarantula dealers here that were being sold for £95 or around $140 which isn't super cheap but they are still way too complicated for me to try keeping them especially with such specific housing requirements, i would always want my Ts comfort to be priority and I don't think i cpuld deliver on that with a T. Seladonia

When there is a new species that was discovered people immediately start collecting them before hey they become a protected species
@carnage337.3 жыл бұрын
Tbh the people who collect T's are their primary protectors. Most of these species are bred safely in captivity whereas in the wild chances of successfully reproducing are slim.

I have been loving your channel. I have been severely arachnophobic my whole life and about 3 months ago I got tired of it so I started keeping various jumping spiders. About a month ago I got a young wolf spider. 2 days ago I held my first tarantula, a young Grammostola pulchripes, and purchased a Hapalopus sp. Columbia spiderling as my first T. Thanks for helping keep me encouraged in my quest to get rid of my arachnophobia.

All of the jumping spiders here in Canada are incredibly tiny. Are there breeders that sell bigger jumping spiders like those that are about an inch in size?
@christophermccurry80392 жыл бұрын
@@VrejHAI yes there are. Unfortunately I am completely ignorant of Canadian import laws. I can tell you two species to look for though. Phiddipus regius (Regal jumper) and the Phiddipus audax (bold jumper). Both are great spiders with good temperaments and can get to a fair size, especially the females. Whenever there is a very species available chances are that wild caught which sucks because it's never good to wild catch animals
@nanoreefer16223 жыл бұрын
Every species in captivity where wild caught as some point or another. Wild caught animals are perfectly fine providing its regulated and they are not over collected. Infact will caught specimens are useful to captive populations as it introduces fresh bloodlines into the captive population and reduces inbreeding. Captive populations can then be reintroduced into wild if necessary.
@lauraclegg7943 жыл бұрын
I've they are collected responsibly & not sold as pets, used to produce captive farmed then captive bred, I think that's ok xx

@gutz3233 жыл бұрын
Damn! Tarantulas are expensive in the US. You can get some of these in the UK for a fraction of the price. For instance a seledonia spiderling would set you back maybe £75 and a chilobrachys electric blue about £20/25. I guess there is far more keepers in the US and a few egg sacs of a rare species in the UK would probably satisfy the demand for the whole country.
@the1killjoy6573 жыл бұрын
