Crawling is addicting. My brother and co-worker told me I was stupid for buying a truck that goes so slow. Fast forward 1 year they each have 3 crawlers!!! Love the channel, be well. You def touched on all the important elements of this segment of RC.

I have a couple of more reasons: it serves all needs for human desire… something theoretical (all the math around with gearing, weight distribution, watching youtoube etc.), something practical (soldering, screwing, mechanics and electronics), fun as you said, a challenge (skills, improving over time, getting more control) and you can have an evolution by spending money or DYI… The community aspect comes on top that… The good thing is that the companies realized that and they provide quality for money. It feels good! It is great FUN!

I love the fact that each upgrade you do can drastically change the capability which is so rewarding to see after building it up. To see it crawl over something it couldn't before after a quick swap of the tire or change in weight is so satisfying.

I am a senior citizen and I have been a motorcycle guy since I was 13 years old. My disability made motorcycles impossible so I decided to get an rc car. I went for speed of course because that is what I have always done. Then I came across this channel and this video and I got interested. Well a few weeks ago I purchased a element enduro sendaro after watching rc review videos. And I have to say everything in this video is spot on!! I am having a blast. I don’t have much natural rock where I live but I have a rock pit in my backyard that is plenty challenging. My bank account is going down. I can’t stop buying up grades lol. Thanks for inspiring me to check out this sport. Loving it.

I always had the fastest cars and then finally I bought my first crawler and now I'm so into it. Totally hooked and agree there is nothing else quite like it in the rc hobby. Your rigs become your trail buddies and before you know it, your throwing everything at them from off the shelf.

What I love about RC is that despite the feeling like you are a weirdo who spends too much on toy cars.... the minute you take it out, every person who sees you is interested, chats you up, checks it out, and so on and so forth. Even people who don't care about cars or toys or whatever seem to be drawn to these little things. It helps you get past the superficial "hows the weather" questions, and gets people to open up into actual meaningful conversation. It's being able to break the ice with a simple mechanical pet that draws me in, but also i love the mechanical part of the hobby and driving these things.

I enjoy building for myself and others, Nephews, Brother-in-law, Son, and anyone who wants to be part of the fun. It has been tough lately with the restrictions, but I'm sure we will get our crawling time in soon! If not I will run out of space to store all of the builds due to staying inside and building for so long...I currently have 47 Hobby RC's stored to date. 1-plane, 3-boats, 2-Quad copters, 3-tanks, 2-Bull dozers, 1-articulated front loader, 1-tracked skid loader, 2-drag cars, 4-bashers, 1-quad bike, 1-trike, 2-off road buggies, 1-snow cat, 1-1/6 scale SBR, 2-1/24 scale crawlers, 3-jeeps, 1-half track, 5-Army trucks, 1-military front loader, 1-military road grader, 6-1/10 scale crawlers, 2-desert trucks, 1-drift truck, and that does not include about another 20+ toy grade RC's for the Grand kids and other kids that live near me. I need to get out and follow your lead and start CRAWLING AGAIN !!! It might even save me some money :)

You forgot one, #11. Gets you into scale photography and video. One of my favorite parts of trailing is finding that perfect spot to snap a realistic scale pic to try and fool your buddies. Hi Francis. I have always been into cars and trucks and always wanted to own and build my own tough truck to do real offroading in the boondocks. This hobby has allowed me to do so albeit on a tenth scale both in size and price by not spending for a "full sized toy" that I will have to pay someone to build and set up and for me to drive once a month at most. I really love this hobby because it is a combination of at least 6 diifferent pastimes and activities i have always wanted to do or enjoy doing all rolled into one hobby that is called Scale RC Crawling: 1. RC kit assembly/building/tuning/upgrading/ set up/testing 2. Scale modeling/fabrication/detailing/creativity flex points 3. RC Collecting/unique project builds 4. Bargain hunting 5. Going oudoors/roadtrips 6. Driving/playing/bashing/trailing I truly enjoy watching your channel and admire your passion and positivity for the hobby. Keep up the great work and continue to inspire more into the hobby

really appreciate your words and insight there bud. So true on the 1:1 trucks. I have a Tacoma and a 4runner and I cringe at paying $10k to mod it and pay someone to install. And then I'll be to scared once a month to damage it on the rocks.

I've been crawling the Derbyshire Peak District for more than 15 years now. So much fun. Curbar Edge, Black Rocks, Robin Hood's Stride, Stanage Edge etc. I once did a 7 mile trail up and over Kinder Scout (4 batteries). Really confuses people when they see the truck before they see the driver ! My worst crash was a 100m steep downhill cartwheel at Wingather Rocks - my Gmade R1 had no damage at all. I have almost every form of RC - boats, fast cars, bashers, drift cars, quads, planes, fan boats, helicopters and I can honestly say rock crawling a truck you have built is the best of all. Ths satisfaction of beating an impossible rock through skill is immense. Get crawling folks.

Used to race touring cars both nitro and electric. Worked at the local hobby shop after work just for fun. The one question every person behind the car counter and racers hate is “how fast does it go?”. Every bubba that can barely walk n chew gun at the same time wants the fastest thing they can break in 5min, then brings it back saying it’s junk, or they want a monster truck that can drag race their buddies street car. Explaining to them that everything is basically faster than they can really drive in it’s element goes over their heads. Hell I still have fun carpet racing $100 spec cars, they are plenty fast for racing indoors. Getting a hand full of good drivers running the same thing is some good times. With the lipo batteries and brushless motors the world of R/C is totally different from my racing days! Just getting back to my R/C cars I really like the crawlers I saw the trx4 build kit and had to have it. As a kid my family used to trail ride and later raced 4wd, an old Scout II, soon I’ll be making a hard body with a 1/0th scale 3D print of myself as the driver. Crawlers are the best for just fooling around out side, no worries of letting kids drive your rig like you do with faster ones.

When I go out with my Everest GEN seven which has been totally modified and modeled right down to the firewood on the rock and camping gear winch off-road lights etc. sound it takes me back to when I lived in Montana and have the real thing. But the difference between this and the real thing is a lot of $$$$$.I try to drive mine in a realistic manner slowly and try not to do the impossible reflecting back on the real thing. you’re absolutely right it gets you out hiking around how did the nature sometimes I bring my lunch with me or some refreshments it’s always quite enjoyable. When at home I like to put it in the shop and get it up on the rock and work on it. Maybe fix something that broke or add something on that I have been thinking about or some other modification. I recently got a axle 1/24 scale jeep wrangler rubicon. A lot of my decision in purchasing this very small micro crawler was from watching your video your review! It has proven to be quite capable and very mobile. Thank you once again for your very informative educationalAnd stimulating videos.

The thing I love about scale trail crawling is i get to use the same trails that I mountain bike and hike with my dog on . It’s such an awesome hobby!! I come from a model railroad back ground. The absolute beauty of RC crawling... As someone that has a lot of family that drives hundreds of miles to go 1:1 crawling, I can enjoy this in my own back yard, driving over the neighbor's rocks, taking my crawler for a walk with my SO (she loves it), climbing curbs, driving through THAT GUY'S unmowed lawn. Great video! I think in order to be unbiased, you should do a "top 10 reasons why RC crawling sucks" video. I'll start: 1. Everyone thinks you're dumb for spending so much money on "toy cars" 2. You think it only costs $200-300 until you get the upgrade bug and then are into your kit for $1000+ 3. People think you're being mean when you don't want to let their kids drive your $1000+ "toy car" 4. The right amount of RC crawlers to have is the amount you have plus 1 (neverending money pit) 5. It still hurts when you see your $1000+ crawler roll down a hill

Another nice thing about RC crawling, is that its very likely your vehicle will come home with you in one piece. I also fly RC airplanes, and it does not take much for a $500 plane to become rubbish after a crash. RC Crawler speeds tend to be really slow, thus most damage is cosmetic and easily repairable, plus RC crawlers tend to be be built very strong and can take lots of abuse. I have many crawlers, and I love adding scale details, and even as shelf queens, they always look fantastic on display.

Relaxing? Maybe when my expensive servo cracks? My brand new Mamba burns up? My rig roll a hill down 100 feet? or swimm away at a deep river crossing? Relax when i dont come up the hill even after thousand trys? My last check goes in broken parts? Ha ha ha its like the "sighting" from where you look at this hobby ! But all in all in the end i love it!

I've been doing RC crawling/trailing for years. I also do scale on road RC driving. It's nothing like racing. You drive your car like you'd drive your real car. The cars are brands and models you'd find on the road and they're painted and detailed like real cars. Its very relaxing as well.

Congratulations for the channel. The way you speaking about this wonderful hobby is one of the biggest deals of this channel. It’s proffessional in one hand and very friendly and helpful on the other hand. Playing together with the small kids is adorable.😊🙏 My aim is to be an owner of an rc crawler, i’m on the way of collecting information, and for me your channel is the best connection for this aim.😊 Is there any video about building a custom crawler with metal chassis from the beginning to the end, introducing the tools you’ve used for the process? Best for you all! 🙏

Last weekend, I spent hours on my bicycle, keeping an eye out for new places to run my RCs. I found a cool spot, and headed back later with my trucks. Then, I ran my trucks, and made a KZbin video. So, I got exercise, spent time outside, discovered new parts of my area, and had fun. That's a win. Full size wheeling is fun, but there are no areas where I can legally do that local to me, and it is expensive. So, RC gives me much of the thrill, with less travel time, and less money.

Rob O I’ve gone on trails and had hikers pass me going the other way and stare at the truck with huge smiles on their faces because it’s something they’ve ever seen. Before all of this coronavirus stuff started I was running my crawlers after school and everyone that drove by was smiling and pointing the trucks out to other people in the vehicle. This hobby is really the best.

@@Evan_Moore61 Yeah, some time ago i drove my trx-4 sport over a mountain, a 6-7 hour hike. And everyone was interested, and no one could believe the capabilities of the truck. I have now got a TRX-6, and me and 4 friends are all going on that hike with 5 cars. looking forwards to people's reaction to 5 toy cars driving over a mountain!

I used to work in an office and the IT guys had a bunch of drift cars and a crawler. Every day at lunch they would take the drift cars out in the parking lot across the street and I would go out with them occasionally. Its remarkable how refreshed and relaxed you are even after 45 min from doing something so fun and entertaining. They also had a pile of old PCs they would run the crawler on in the basement lol.
